I was about to say, there are so many misconceptions about MX and it pisses me off, because it's unfair to him. People automatically assume he was violent and make opinions based upon that, when people like NYU have no idea what they're talking about. Anyway, Malcolm X was more in favour of segregation in the beginning of his "career" as an activist, but towards the end after his visit to Mecca he became much more open minded about that sort of thing. He gave speeches to rooms of white people at Harvard based upon various topics in the social sciences, as well as conversing with white people on a regular basis. He however was much more in favour of emphasizing the black struggle as opposed to talking about whites changing the way they were. He believed essentially that the black community had to change their own lives first, and than later could things get better. That's why he would accept charities from whites, or maybe he wouldn't? I don't remember but it's important. He was in favour of segregation now so that blacks could get back on their feet, but to bring people together later on. Or something like that, I'm no historian but this is what I can remember at this point. Segregation now, harmony later. Of course, he died so we don't really know what he could have done had he had the time to see his influence on people.

Sadly, some would. I have no idea WHY but some have a problem if they find out the reverend was bi-sexual. And the White Power groups would have a field day. Because alot of people that follow MLK are religious and that would make him a hypocrite in a lot of ways because he used Christianity much of the time to defend his views of equality, yet bisexuality is very un-Christian. Equality is obviously justified regardless of religious stance, but he spoke of religion much of the time. As far as FBI having files on you, if you're cheating on your wife and are never caught, they wouldn't know about it. Of course, I didn't know about the thorough investigation by the FBI which would explain how they have that information. How come Malcolm X doesn't have a day? Is it because he's Muslim and people might think he's a terrorist? Perhaps.

Year after they win the World Series, not a coincidence I think.

Mikey calls for student walkout on January 20th...

The fact that many people here brought up what would happen if it was Clinton, shows that they're turning this into a "Conservative v. Liberal" thing. Proof is that all of the usuals have picked sides based on that. Is there a point to constantly pointing Michael Moore? You don't like him, we get it. This is fluff at it's best, or worst. -
The only guy I can think of that got better stock from the combine and outperformed everyone to the point where he shined, combined with the fact that he had a great career, was Darrell Green. What was that, twenty years ago? Also, Jevon Kearse had a great combine too, but he had a great college career as well from what I remember.

I don't care about the principle, since I'm not really familiar with the law, but at least it's one less Pats fan... Funny that I think some of the people here would be more offended by that then what he said. -
I don't understand this whole thing though. I mean what kind of files, like a criminal record sort of thing, how does the FBI have access to private parts of his life? It's not like that for everyone, and I'm also confused as to how they're just allowed to release this information to the public. It's almost like something out of a movie.

Where do you guys go to get your music? I realize that my regular outlets won't carry a lot of the stuff that I want, particularly more obscure stuff like, say, what's recommended in this thread. What's a good place to buy records, as well as get information on newer stuff, because I've been starting to dislike most of the sources I have for that sort of thing as well. -
What files are these, and how strong are the ties to communism, adultery, etc.

Bang's moving up to WW, and wants to fight in the UFC next year. I think he's too one-dimensional to be successful at this point. -
Now that the final four our set...

Well Dama is suggesting that Bruschi can keep up with him. Tedy Bruschi is a great player, but he doesn't have the speed or agility to keep up with Vick. New England over Philly, but I'm rooting for Pittsburgh over Philly/Atlanta, as long as New England doesn't make it AGAIN. -
She said she didn't eat for two days. Some 500 lb "professional" food contest guy could only eat it in 7 hours. There must be something wrong here, if she's like 100 lbs and "normal".

Or it could mean that they're too stupid to understand the gimmick, and they just keep yelling "WHAT". The angle wasn't stupid, but it got stupid yesterday when they went for cheap heat in Toronto.

I don't know about the rest of you, but I really liked it. It's hard for them to get into the training right away, since it's the first episode and they introduce everything aka some filler. The training sequences were awesome and it can only get better as the show goes on. Randy really is a great coach, the way he was being positive yet realistic with "Strange Brew" (I don't even remember his name). Ironic that a guy who made his name on being a real life tough guy can be so nice, but a guy who made his name on looking tough has to be the biggest asshole to a bunch of trainees and go on about how he's such a badass. Of course I'm talking about Tazz. -

Conference Championship Prediction Thread

I'm going with what was the preseason pick for almost EVERYBODY. Eagles-Pats, but I hope Cowher proves me wrong and finally wins the big one. -
Very true, unless your stats are gaudy, it takes awhile to gain respect. The fact that the defense was as bad as it was without him and as good as it is and was with him for the seasons before and after, should show that he has that effect on both sides of the ball. He keeps his defense fresh I'd say, if only they had a better coach, then he could honestly develop his passing skills.

I thought Jennifer Garner did a great job in that movie, 13 Going On 30, but then when I saw her on Leno I realized that it was because she acts like a 13 year old in real life. I have no interest in seeing a movie that's as serious as this that looks as cheesy as it does.

It's only on once a week? The UFC has a national training centRe? Ironically it's probably the worst place for a fighter to train, otherwise all of their champions would be coming from that gym. I think this will be good exposure to non-fans that MMA isn't the bloodsport it was perceived to be in the past thanks to the ban and all that. -
Yes, the Colts are definitely my team. I am only taking anger out on you because my favourite team, the COlts of Indianapolis, Indiana was Dillowned. Clearly, my last post was dripping with anger. You brag about what a team you don't follow did to a team that I don't follow. Brilliant, but it still doesn't change the fact that you should stop posting.

Hi, my name is Tom Fowler. I don't know shit from shinola. So because he was wrong on one game, he's a moron? How many posts did you dedicate to Tom anyway, it's like you had the keyboard in your hand ready to rip him a new one from the opening kickoff. This, combined with the PM you sent me, shows that you are a stupider, more biased version of even the most annoying Yankee/Patriot fan. Please stop posting.

It was mostly shoulder after just watching the replay on NFL Primetime about 30 times. It was clean. I only saw it during the game, but it looked helmet to helmet to me. Also I heard a loud clank, but whatever, it's irrelevant in the grand scheme of things. I think Peyton has more heart then people think. At least he wasn't laughing it up with the opposing QB. He wants to win, but when you don't have support from the run, your defense is on the field for a very long portion of the game, and you're expected to throw up like 400 yds with 4 TDs against the most dominant defense with the best defensive minded coach, that can be difficult to say the least. I'm sure he'll get it one day, and fuck Boomer Esiason for just dismissing the guy's chance at a Super Bowl like that. I hate when analysts, instead of trying to make some insight, just reach for comparisons to old stars in an effort to make themselves sound smart. Last time I checked Peyton hasn't even hit thirty yet, and QB's of his level stay in the league for a while, especially when it's not like mobility is ever a factor. After this and his typical corporate response to the whole Randy Moss thing, well, Boomer's a moron. Besides, he didn't win a Super Bowl either did he? I could go on about this but it's just a waste of time, so I'll just say fuck him.
