Does anyone know why he was so anti-Iraq war?
-
Is it known why he died? Or do people not know and just chalk it up to him being depressed?
-
I personally think the policies of the country should be influenced by a Fundamentalist Preacher who probably holds onto one of those conspiracy theories that Jews are secretly plotting to take over the world. You know the ones I'm talking about, the bankers in Zurich controlling the fate of the world and such. It seems that most anti-semitic "Christians" tend to believe some sort of Jewish conspiracy. Was Pat the one who said that 9/11 was because God was angry at the world for having homosexuals in it, and as thus threw plane in the twin towers?

Speaking of JFK what did you all think of the movie? I heard it won a bunch of prestigious awards, and gained critical success, but so did BFC in terms of a political movie. I was wondering if it was just a bad movie in terms of the facts in the film, because I recall hearing rumours of the sort. I don't really care that the main topic of the thread has veered, it was dead before it started. From an entertainment perspective - its pretty good, especially for a four hour movie. For historical accuracy/research purposes - I reccomend it to no one. "The Past is Prologue" "Back, and to the left" One of the few jokes from "The Critic" that still holds is the "Director's Cut" of "JFK" --- with just more "back --- and to the left". -=Mike Yeah that is the movie I was talking about. I always thought it was an opinion piece detailing some conspiracy theory as to who shot JFK or something like that, but I didn't know if it intended itself to be taken seriously. -

Big play on the title of the Card, comparing it to 1812 It's stupid, but fun. Here's to Canada owning come October 22 Probably will go 0-2, but who knows? -
Both were asked. Why must every baseball player decline the Blue Jays hat? I understand Rocket, but Dave Winfield didn't and Alomar will probably not do it either. Argh. Here's an interesting one; Roger Maris.

No, a true sign that homosexuality is an issue is PEOPLE BRINGING IT UP. And one side is bringing it up. And that one side isn't the Republican one. It's not an issue for Dick or Lynne Cheney as they don't feel the need to mention it constantly. Meanwhile. both Edwards and Kerry have brought it up and Mrs. Edwards put down the pudding pops long enough to shove her hoof down her gullet about it. Using your questionable logic, that Bush doesn't mention that he has black advisors means he must have a problem with blacks. No, you simply demonstrate a staggering lack of insight as to conservative voters. Don't try and analyze this as you are insanely bad at it. I'd find you insulting, but you're too fucking moronic for me to worry myself about. -=Mike I never said the Republican Party is bigoted, simply that most gay hating douchebags will vote Republican, probably because they fall closer to the conservative line of thinking when it comes to gay marriage. There's a reason why the "liberal" view on gay marriage is for while the "conservative" view is against. If you hated gays, which side would you be closer to? About what I said about it being an issue, you're missing the point. He brought it up, a fact about Cheney's daughter. Nothing wrong with that. The fact that people look at this is as an insult means that they FIND IT INSULTING. Do you understand now? It has nothing to do with it being brought up or not, as it was a question asked in the debate, nothing wrong with that. It has to do with the fact that people are trying to spin this into an insult after he mentioned it, talked about how it's NOT A CHOICE, and that they deserve equal rights. Yeah, I am sure all the bigots are gonna be voting Dem now. The black advisor thing is not accurate at all as I pointed out. Kerry pointed out Cheney's daughter was gay. Not insulting, Bush points out his wife is a cow. Very insulting (and mature of you too, though you're not above the usual fat joke, although your hero seems to be Rush but that's another story). As you can see, you're equating being called a lesbian with something as insulting as calling a middle aged woman a cow. Classy. So Kerry goes on about homosexuality (after being asked, he didn't bring it up) and how it's not a choice, that they deserve equal rights and gives an example of a famous person that he knows. Of course, you spin this into him trying to attract bigots. You still don't think that this is biased? I will point out this much; I think Kerry is a hypocrite, if only because he talks about not inflicting his views on people in regards to abortion, but then goes on to ban gay marriage, a personal view. It shows that he sides with the majority, and goes with whatever popular opinion asks of him, very lame and stupid really. At least GWB has principles in that case and sticks to his beliefs, relying not on popular opinion but rather on some method of absolute truth. HOWEVER, Kerry seemed, to me at least, to be much more genuine when asked about homosexuality and seemed to know what he was talking about, as opposed to Bush who doesn't seem as educated on the issue to me personally. He also seemed to call Bush on how he allows some embryonic stem cell research, as opposed to truly believing conception is the start of life and making sure there's no embryonic stem cell research. But I digress, since they both oppose gay marriage it really shouldn't be an issue, so I say GWB is the better candidate if only because I *know* he is genuine about what he says. I don't know how much of a "Catholic" John Kerry really is, probably a fact he's throwing out to attract a certain vote. The problem I noticed with all the debates is that rather then really answering the question and presenting their opinions, they tend to just dodge it and attack the other person. Am I naive for expecting anything more? EDIT: I don't know if Mike was calling me a fucking moron, but I quoted the post up there anyway since I was quoted in there somewhere. -
Did you miss out on all the Eminem controversy? Eminem is the exception not the rule. The fact is every mainstream rapper that is outspoken about being a homophobic douchebag seems to go untouched by those groups.

Hey SP or whomever, have you guys heard of a book called the Pagan Christ? I forgot the author's name to be honest, but it basically talks about the problem with literalism, not to mention shows how older Egyptian cultures believed the exact same thing as Christians do way before there was such a thing as Christ, like the virgin mother, death and resurrection, etc. Just something to throw out there.

inside fighting.com After Patrick Cote agreed to face Tito Ortiz in the main event, Marvin Eastman (pictured) needed an opponent. Travis Lutter, out of the Lion's Den, agreed to step up and take the fight on 7-days notice. Lutter is 4-1 as a pro. Well that settles Eastman's dillemma. Interesting HTQ, I don't know why he'd want to back out of that fight when the OTHER GUY is supposed to be worried about lack of training. Even better, he wanted to fight Tito but that fell through. The UFC is insane. -

Edwin basically said what I failed to try to get across, that the issue of homosexuality is not an issue at all, and the fact that people are blaming Kerry for bringing it up shows that they look at it like its a problem. Everything else Kerry said about how he feels regarding homosexuality should've negated that point, but see what you want to. He boldly stated that it wasn't a choice, and yes that is bold considering many bigots feel that they choose to be that way. If he was trying to attract bigots, he wouldn't have mentioned that. Kerry: I don't mind homosexuals, like you know Cheney's daughter is gay (unnecessary, but not "sleazy". It didn't sound insulting and it almost came off as if he was simply trying to say that neither side looks at it as wrong, which is why he mentioned Cheney. A stretch? Sure, but not as far off as thinking that this was a bold political move to attract the bigots. Whether you want to admit it or not, most bigots will side with Bush since he's shown that he doesn't believe in Gay Marriage. For those who will spin, no Bush isn't a bigot, but the bigots will go with Bush. Not that hard to understand.) -

According to MMAWeekly.com the current card is.... UFC 50 - OFFICIAL CARD October 22, Atlantic City, New Jersey Tito Ortiz vs Patrick Cote Matt Hughes vs Georges St. Pierre Charuto Verissimo vs Frank Trigg vs Marvin Eastman Evan Tanner vs Robbie Lawler Rich Franklin vs Jorge Rivera Ivan Salaverry vs Tony Fryklund Eastman was supposed to fight Cote, who is now being thrown in with Tito. Interesting. Even better, Igor has dropped to 205 and wants the PRIDE MW belt. -

John Marsh and Trevor Prangley are off of the show as well, although I think Prangley was replaced. Apparently no one wanted to face Ivan with nine days notice as they called a bunch of guys, all of whom declined. -

And mentioning Mary Cheney is somehow equal to the mentioning the stance of possibly the next (but only if God turns out to be a complete dimwit) first lady? And any Kerry fanboys trying to justify him or John Jr.'s remarks--c'mon John, just outright say GW KILLED Christopher Reeve, can't knock you down any further on the idiot scale--aren't biased whatsoever, OK....................... Yeap, I'm biased, because I never defend GWB to all of my stupid hippie liberal university colleagues. Oh wait I do. I love how I'm biased when I am simply making a point, yet Mike isn't biased for playing the same side over and over and over again. It only makes sense that you'd be so quick to defend him. Since, you know.... EDIT: I just realised I never said anything about Kerry or Edwards talking about Reeve, yet you brought that up out of nowhere to call me a Kerry fanboy. Seeing as how you always veer off in your posts attacking something that's not there, I guess that can be expected. -

But Kerry mentioned it not insulting anyone, he simply stated a fact. He didn't use it to insult anyone. Should I repeat that again, since some people won't let that go. Bush brought up Kerry's wife's favour for abstinence. "In fact your wife voted for it too." Is that necessary to bring up his wife, his family? Does it mean anything or prove anything? So what if she voted for it how is that an issue? I'm not offended by it, and anyone who is is an idiot, just like anyone who thinks what Kerry brought up is worth mentioning again. Cheney is making this an issue by making it a focal point of interviews/speeches/whatever. Nobody really cares, since he didn't make fun of her or insult her. Kerry has *nothing* to apologize over. The fact that you're comparing this to Rush calling Clinton's daughter a DOG shows how biased you are. -
Those crazy black people! Perhaps this has something to do with the fact that he has made amazing pop albums, and has nothing to do with his "weirdness". He's only been accused. He's messed up, I personally believe he did it, but he's only been accused, so it's not fair to use the pedophile thing against him, not that you should anyway. It's irrelevant to his music. You can't point out a couple of bad songs he's had and use them against him, especially when they're not so much bad as they are, uhh, let's say lame. Talking about Jam and the song with Eddie (which is this, I've never heard of it, unless you're talking about "Party" which was actually Rick James but correct me here if I'm wrong). You can't say MJ hasn't ruled since "Scream", because his time has passed obviously. In ten years when Em is no longer making music (I can only hope) or is not at the top, will the rapper of the moment be better since he is better at the time? What I'm saying is that Eminem now is not NEARLY as big as MJ was, so to use popularity as a method of showing who is better or "cooler" (I don't know what your point was about that anyway) is stupid. MJ had great production from QJ, just like how Em would still be a piece of white trash if Dre hadn't saved his ass. Okay scratch that, he'd be a POOR piece of white trash if Dre hadn't picked him up. Point here is that there is more to the music then the pop star himself, and yes Eminem is a pop star. Apparently he has more input now, which would explain the progressive drop in quality in all of his albums. Lose Yourself sucked, who produced that? It was a cheesy anthemic riff player over and over again, I liked Dave Chappelle's version way better. "SPAGETTHI! SPAGHETTI!" Who has more talent? The guy whose once "innovative" flow has become passe, or the guy who is known to have one of the best voices to ever shine in pop music? You wanna knock him for making a song about dunking a basketball? At least he isn't talking about cutting up his wife and trying to pass it off as "symbolism" or what such crap they use an excuse. At least with MJ, whatever heartfelt songs he might have had on his albums weren't negated by the fact that the next track was about "hardcore gangster" bullshit. In short, MJ>>>Eminem.
