Rampage finds meaning, while Steibling loses all sense of it and becomes a nihilist. The title is "Hopelessness Defeats Heart" by the way, they don't show the title in the article so you might be confused as to what phrase he was referring to. -
Demonstrate some of these. I'm aware that the Bible never actually mentions things like confessions and a few other Catholic beliefs, but I'm curious as to what the other "demonstratably false" aspects are. Well for pagan customs, the Catholics assimilated the springtime feast/celebration of fertility and called it Easter. They stole Christmas as well. They just adopted the 25th of December as the birthday of Christ, despite there being no recorded evidence ever found, in the Bible or anywhere else, that suggests this as being factual. Christmas, I believe, was originally a Roman celebration in regards to the 'renewal of the Sun'. However, I'd have to look into to it for anymore details on its' history. UYI Question: Do you think Catholic clergy denies that? Because I can tell you for a fact that they don't. The MEANING of each holiday was not stolen. The DATE of each celebration was chosen specifically to attract members of the Pagan tradition. Yeap. From a young age, as far as religious education goes, I've gone to a Catholic school and there is never anything being denied or hidden *insert pedophile priest joke here*. It is a well known fact that Jesus was probably born sometime in the summer months. The fact that there was a holiday before Christmas became December 25th isn't some huge revelation showing that Christianity is a sham. I too would like to hear what IDRM has to say that denounces Catholocism so greatly.

Yes, and selling it after all that has happened, well, that's just in bad taste. The swastika has changed in what it means. But no one seems to bat an eyelid over the CCCP merch being sold...

I think Catholocism does a better job of interpreting the Bible than any other denomination. In fact, the main reason why I state that I'm a Catholic is because I feel I can do a better job defending my Faith with it as a basis as opposed to a very fundamentalist form of Christianity which I feel is way too simplistic.

Are there any Posters from Northwest Indiana
Your Paragon of Virtue replied to St. Gabe's topic in No Holds Barred
Don't want to be callous, and I doubt it will be since you seem to be light-hearted about the whole thing, but wouldn't it be smart to not buy the cigarettes at all, since you know they are after you for it or once you realize that they are following you you don't buy them, or wait for them to stop lingering and then buy them? All three seem like better options then the one your bro picked. -
I'm just posting because I noticed my name in a KKK rap. I actually like ESPN for its football coverage, but I guess that's because it's all about hockey in the Great White North.

TSM Unite: Lets pool our money together!
Your Paragon of Virtue replied to a topic in No Holds Barred
The only thing I got from this thread is that I want to buy one of those Strike Force shirts. Strike Force isn't queer, YOU ARE! Most of you guys wouldn't know this but the big thing with "hip hop style" is to wear the baseball cap straight, with no bend in the cap and preferrably have the tag still hanging from it. Of course, the rest of your gear has to match, and the fact that he wears clothes that ten year old kids wear coupled with the fact that his hat is dirty as fuck, leads me to believe that he isn't exempt from this "straight hat mockery". -
Stupid question; is this a Christian album at all? Normally I'd think it's ironic, but with an album title like Grace, and songs like Eternal Life, it points in that direction.

Official: US Capture of bin Laden close
Your Paragon of Virtue replied to bob_barron's topic in Current Events
Because if the government doesn't disclose all of it's information to the public it's wrong or something. Someone, somewhere, will cry foul somehow. That's no excuse. The American government isn't so wimp-ish that they would risk the results of a major terrorist capture for the sake of a few conspiracy theorists. -
What kind of fucking lame-ass excuse are you trying to pull here? That would be like, if you had a beard, me comparing YOU to Osama Bin Laden, simply because you both have facial hair. "Boy, that Paragon, he has a nice thick beard, he's just like Osama bin Laden." Retarded. I don't think you could have found a more jive excuse if you TRIED. I'm not making an excuse, like I said, it was a mistake. I just think it's too subtle, and the "Big lie" thing is a tad more specific than facial hair. It just seems too subtle. Of course I'm just trying defend Dems everywhere since anyone who doesn't look at this as Hitler=Bush must be part of the DNC. Remember, you're either with us or against us.
-
When I read it, it seems too subtle for him to outright be calling him a genocidal dictator. Like I said, bad example, but I don't believe it's intended because I don't think every person in the DNC is an ass. If you think that the average American would interpret that to be a comparison of mass grave records, then the problem lies with the average American.
-
You're totally blowing that out of proportion. You're equivocating his comparison of lies to the "Dems comparing him to a mass murderer". He said he was like Hitler because he lied. He did NOT say he was like Hitler because he exterminated a bunch of people. He didn't even imply anything. I know Hitler is a name you shouldn't use, and that was a mistake, but he probably felt that they both used the same tactic of using emotions to play to the crowd, which they do to the point of nausea. I thought only Liberals made the logical fallacy of equivocation.

Pixies for sure, maybe Morrissey if I can find someone to go with me.

GOP to back ban on gay marriage
Your Paragon of Virtue replied to Spaceman Spiff's topic in Current Events
I didn't choose to be gay and I'm not lying. There's your proof. There's no doubt in my mind that you didn't choose to be gay. No one would want to choose to be persecuted by the general populace. Being born with it does not necessarily go hand in hand with not choosing it. Many people believe it has something to do with the environment you grow up in. The fact that many people believe this and have evidence to back it up (none that I've seen personally, I haven't looked into it because it's not something I am that strong about) means that there needs to be convincing evidence. It's retarded, but if you're going to change something as important (to many people, believe it or not) as marriage, it's required. -
GOP to back ban on gay marriage
Your Paragon of Virtue replied to Spaceman Spiff's topic in Current Events
While not talking about gay marriage specifically, I feel that this whole attitude of "Let people do whatever they want, as long as it doesn't bother me" is dangerous, which is what some in here seem to have. A key point someone seems to bring every once in a while yet no one else seems to reiterate is the cause of homosexuality. I believe they're born like that, but if they aren't than we should not have gay marriage since it is not something inherent, and that takes away from its "naturalness". Until that is proven I don't think it should be legalized. Polygamy ain't natural, no one is born with the inclination to be a polygamist, so we should definitely not allow it, even though it "doesn't harm me personally". The concept of a man and his five wives raising one son is a little odd to me personally, and as much as I may sound like a "dinosaur", is fucked up. -

You'd rate Steibling that low? He's hung in there with top BJJ Stylists and beaten them, not to mention that he's got solid striking skills. His last fight was apparently a great one, against Rogerio, even though he lost. I still wonder if Franklin will get another chance though. -

Yeah I figured as much due to the difference in size, but still my point remains. The difference in credibility regarding judo skills between the two is worlds apart. The fact that he gave up his arm in no time only cemented that, along with the fact that he was pretty much manhandled on the takedown. I've heard that DSE is mad at Ogawa or something, and that the fans don't like him either. Is this true? -
200 Children and Teachers taken hostage in school
Your Paragon of Virtue replied to Vanhalen's topic in Current Events
I know all of these Islamic terrorists are fucked, but is there anything fundamentally wrong with the religion itself? I'm not trying to start anything, but the problem seems to be more about the way the government handles it rather then the religion. I'm not even trying to flame-bait or anything, it's a legitimate question. -

WHERE THE FUCK'S RICH FRANKLIN?! He's lost once, which I know is why Dana didn't want him because that pissed him off. But the bottom line is that he's never had a decision. EVER. An exciting fighter who finishes his opponents, with one loss to a guy that never has lost before, you'd expect Dana to be all over him. I know the LHW division is already stacked, but it's criminal that he and Alex Steibling are on the sidelines of the "Big Two". -

Nog Post Final Conflict Interview I have to say that I'm disappointed to see him so delusional. He not only thinks that Fyodor PURPOSELY headbutted him, but also that he should have won and should be the champion. I love Nog, but this just seems too pissy and bitter for my liking. -

I can't be the only one that has doubts about Ogawa's Judo Credentials. A judo world champ and olympic silver medallist gives up his arm like that, causing Fyodor to just mandhandle him and own him on the ground? C'mon, Fyodor's got great sub skills, but against a Judo guy like that? We wouldn't expect that against Yoshida. Speaking of which, he won the Gold Medal at those olympics, did these guys fight each other, or were they in different weight classes? Bas was right, the way Fyodor broke his clasp was beautiful. -
We know about Suprnova, but what other ones do you guys use? I'm getting tired of Suprnova as it doesn't have very much material, especially music videos/live stuff, not to mention obscure albums. What do you guys recommend?

Banky, what about your brainfart of a thread about Bob Barron? OH NO YOU DIDN'T! -
Does anyone know a good site where I can download books off of the internet, as in very large document files? I'm thinking along the lines of a huge Adobe file or Word document. Websites, bit torrent servers, etc. are all appreciated.

Bush doesn't think we can win the War on Terror
Your Paragon of Virtue replied to Rob E Dangerously's topic in Current Events
That's a really bad comparison dude. Tell me those guys chanting to Allah that sliced off Nick Berg's head weren't part of the Islamic faith? SP hit the nail on the head. What I meant was that just because they think they're Muslims, doesn't make them Muslims. They are severely misinterpreting their own faith.
