I'm not rationalizing discrimination, I put out some pretty good points I felt.. I never insulted anyone and I'm not even an American, let alone a Republican. I understand why it would be a close issue to you, but that should all the more make you feel more interested in discussing it.

What Spaceman Spiff said about Polygamists not being born polygamists is important. They still don't know what causes someone to be gay. You'll hear strong arguments from both the nature and nurture side, so just because someone really feels strongly about it doesn't make it right. If it is not something you're born with, I don't see how the pro Gay Marriage people have an argument. Back in my social cause days, I'd tell a gay friend of mine that he had to fight for that right and that he was being discriminated against. His response: "I don't need marriage to show that I love someone." I personally think you're born with it, or at least it's something that you don't choose, in regards to being attracted to someone of the same sex. The definition of marriage, as it has been since forever, is impossible with two gay people. Gay people still deserve the same rights as a traditional married couple, and that's where civil unions come in, so that they can have all the "breaks" or whatever, along with the legal status. Of course, then it's a money issue, but like what was said marriage is not needed to show love for someone. I too think abortion is outright murder. I'm with Mike on not one but TWO issues. Scary thought.

I've been away since the end of June, and as I left I figured it was a lock for GWB to win again. I imagine that it might have calmed down a little, but I figure he's still ahead. How do you guys view the election, in terms of which party will be taking it? Being Canadian it doesn't affect me directly, but I'm still interested. This is one of the more disturbing things I've come across, and is in general just fucked up. If anything it's sad just to hear about people like this pulling shit like this and having all those consequences...and having all of them know each other. Don't know what I mean? I just find it ironic that someone who used to understate every problem that went against her Party line/political belief left the board over something like a custom title change. Of course, this has been said about ten times in as many different ways, so ignore this post.

I have no interest in Spidey 2 since I hated the first one. I saw that the Tiger movie got really good reviews, but I didn't expect it to make any money and it didn't. Which is kinda sad, but like I said expected out of a movie with no real "gimmick". Just like BFC, I will be watching Fahrenheit 9/11 on my computer.

I should mention that this Ultimate Fighters thing is a terrible idea for so many reasons, I don't feel like getting into it because I'm sure many agree with me. The only positive is the whole mainstream acceptance, and this is the wrong way of going about it.

I don't know how many Magnetic Fields fans there are here, but most non-fans talk about 69 Love Songs, and I rarely hear any praise for Charm of The Highway Strip.

The only way you could not know the story of Couture/Belfort II was if you didn't follow MMA at all. Anyways, it was a bullshit cut that stopped the fight in fifteen seconds, and that card isn't very strong. I'd take UFC 44 or even 43. One that I was interested in but haven't gotten yet is 39. Tons of extras, and the card looks strong as hell. Haven't seen it yet but I know the results of what matters anyway.
