Pakistan's Benazir Bhutto killed in suicide attack

To be fair, Jingus is trying to add to some discussion here while a lot of bad jokes are just being made at WP's expense (by Czech, I don't know what the hell Snuffbox is going on about).

    UFC 81: Breaking Point

Hmm, I assumed that he didn't talk about Lesnar at all there, since they didn't allude to it in the newsbyte. That would have been worthy of a preview. It would have got me to listen, so knowing that it's there I will! Speaking of TIMMY~! apparently him vs. Big Nog is official for the undisputed heavyweight championship...interim style that is, because Randy is expected to be back by Dana. I'm not so sure about that, but that's alright. Any excuse to make this fight five rounds is fine by me. VERY intriguing fight.

    TSM TOP TEN: Light-Heavyweights

I agree, maybe I can push Thiago Silva in there somewhere, but the guy had two huge wins, and was not fucked as badly as people think. I mean he was dominated, but this wasn't Stout/Florian levels of quickness here. He put up a fight, nearly reversed position, and stalled out. The thing is, getting tagged on the feet leaves a bad feeling as well. I'm curious about the effectiveness of judo, because Machida clinched and took him down at least once from recollection, which should be what Soko's good at, if his judo cred is as strong as they say. Not to mention that he's way bigger and stronger. Machida is the new Judo killer, after what he did to Da Nak as well. What happened to that guy anyway? I hope he fights again. But I digress, Machida vs. Jardine for the number one contender's spot BOOK IT Thiago Silva vs. Wanderlei, and Soko vs. Houston Alexander. All make sense as far as I can see.

Two very different schools of thought on what constitutes important news in this thread.

    TSM TOP TEN: Light-Heavyweights

So how about now? Rampage Jardine Chuck Forrest Shogun Lyoto Wanderlei Soko Rashad/Ortiz I left out Houston, but he has a fluke win over Jardine and a horrible loss to Thiago Silva, who I don't feel has done enough. This is really fucked up, but these are the top ten guys in the division in my eyes. I think a guy like Lyoto would give Rampage fits with his striking, and that Rampage would be hitting at air with many of his punches. Not as bad as Chuck would be though, that would not be a pretty fight, Chuck vs. Lyoto.

I saw a really sloppy fight and was wondering these two guys are top prospects? because that's what I assumed Friday Night Fights was about, but it turned out that one of them was 9-11 and he won, so I guess they have over the hill journeymen too. Sloppy, but still really fun because the short guy just kept throwing haymakers until Woods couldn't take it anymore. He didn't seem to use his reach at all. Also, Jones vs. Tito? What the fuck? All the weight changes for Roy can't be good for his speed and reflexes, which at 38 years already has eroded naturally. A catchweight of 170 seems a bit odd also. Still, RJJ was consensus top P4P boxer for years and since he's the bigger fighter here, I guess I'd have to take him since his rust will be offset by Tito's even longer time away from the ring.

    UFC 79: Nemesis

Fuck that. Rich is just as much as a insigator of the whole situation, even more so. It was a good fight, Guillard rocked Clementi in the stand up. Guillard is still young he'll fight another day. Where as Clementi will get destroyed most likely his next fight. Clementi showed improved wrestling and jitz in this fight, his standup isn't spectacular but he was landing some decent kicks. A guy like Melvin has power that you don't see much in the division, and Clementi still took his best shots and never really looked worse for the wear. He also looked in way better shape. I don't think he gets destroyed in his next fight. He won't be a champion, but he's a decent gatekeeper right now and I'd like to see him get the Marcus Davis treatment and see them bring him along. Melvin is a very raw prospect, but he hasn't shown any improvement really in the past two years, he almost seems worse now actually. He was knocked down by a jab from Joe Stevenson of all people. He should get cut and try to work his game while getting more experience on smaller shows. The onus is on him now to show some skills and prove himself, he's been given plenty of chances.

Especially if that fighter you beat holds two brutal KO's over the champ...who holds two brutal TKO's over you. Weird. I think something that should be noted is that the reason a lot of people picked Chuck was that his counterpunching style would be perfect for an aggressive fighter like Wanderlei. However, last night Chuck was doing most of the stalking and was initiating most of the exchanges. It looks like when he expects to face a striker or expects the person not to want to take him down, he is more varied with his strikes and his gameplan, as he was throwing more kicks than usual, even adding in a backfist.

The last week of the NFL season.

Wait, who is the southern stoner packer fan? Don't let people on here influence you. Are you really gonna base your emotions on what a guy like Cartman says?

Are those your or the Natural's picks? GSP by whatever he wants, whenever he wants. Chuck by (T)KO, Rd 1. (I'm 51-49 on this, Wanderlei could just as easily win with the same result) Machida via TKO Rd. 3 Clementi by submission Rd. 2 Soa by TKO Rd. 2 Evans by TKO Stoppage Rd. 2 Gamburyan, Radev, and Cane in a fight I hope makes it onto the main card. I want to see if this guy can live up to his hype. Irvin is a decent test for a first HL reel KO I guess. Desouza probably gets decisioned by Roan.

Hitman: My Real Life in the Cartoon World of Wrestling

Certain things in Foley's book seemed to make him out to be arrogant as well. How about constantly referring to himself as being on the cover of TV Guide with girls from his past that shunned him or whatever? The bashing of Marc Mero seemed a little odd as well. Always bagging on Flair got tired quickly.

That's not accurate at all. Way to make yourself look like a complete moron (again). It's very different from most of the books and the guy is brutally honest. There are negatives, but the positives greatly outweigh them. I'm not finished yet, but it's easily the best wrestling book I've read since Foley's first, and I think it might be better than that as well. Was the last line of your post sarcasm?

That caught my attention as well. I thought that this was gonna revolve around Election 2008. As it stands, it's too wide open for the thread to really take off as there's a billion topics to cover for any real discussion to occur. What's C&HE?

Also, Joe Lauzon is not nearly the grappler that Sherk and Diego are. Kenny is a VASTLY different fighter than he was against Diego. He's also much more improved than he was in the Sherk fight. But I will concede the BJ Penn wildcard factor. I forgot about that. I'm always unsure about a guy that trains with BJ Penn...just like I'm always unsure about BJ himself.

More experience, better wrestler, better BJJ, arguably the better striker, proven himself in tough situations, didn't lose to Manny Gamburyan. These are the reasons I pick Kenny Florian to win this fight. You probably won't concede on a few of them though.

That's a pretty funny thread. I'm always amazed by how people like MikeSC seem to run into the same issues everywhere, but in the end, they still don't "get it". He doesn't have the problem, you do.

I think Florian should take it too, but they're both really active so this fight shouldn't be slowed down at all. I think it's weird just because of all the LW's I thought would get a crack at Kenny next Lauzon was not on my mind at all. I'm glad they're not babying him around or anything, but I've gotten used to them taking forever to give tough matchups for most of the non-TUF winners.

    UFC 79: Nemesis

16-0 is the real reason. In fact I forgot about that game being on Saturday. I'll probably watch the first half or something, so when the game is lopsided enough for the Pats to win, the UFC event will start.
