Thanks for the link, and people are right it's not as bad as I had assumed it would be. -
Basically what are some songs that you really like that have been ruined by artists that shouldn't have touched them in the first place? Any sort of "proof" would be preferred, whether it be a youtube link, a megaupload download, whatever. It's alot easier to discuss it if we can hear how bad it is. What inspired this thread was this cover of Comfortably Numb by Queensryche and Dream Theater: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8M5rBwZjgBw...ted&search= Just go and see for yourself. Right from the start you can tell these clowns don't know what the fuck they're doing. That first guy that sings sounds like he's trying to do a bad impression, rather than trying to do his own spin on it. The drums alone kill the vibe for me, it sounds like a professional musician recording session, overproduced to the gills, if you know what I mean. The bad synth adds to the cheesiness, and the guitars are played severely insincerely, if that makes sense. Ugh, just terrible. To me this song is all about creeping up on you, cautiously yet surely. It's a silent killer, rather than this extremely loud abomination. It's subtle and gives you a rush at the right time. Agree with me or not, I'm not going to tell you what to look for when you're listening to music, but if this cover that I provided is your perfect rendition of "Comfortably Numb" then I'm going to have a hard time taking your opinion seriously. I should point out that I don't think a cover necessarily has to try to sound like the original, in fact it's preferred if they take something that exists and change it to the point that it's their own. Kind of like how two directors can take the same screenplay and make two completely different yet equally powerful movies. However, sometimes the direction they take is beyond bad. This is one of those times.

That makes sense (about Oregon). West coast seems to be the shit as far as strong weed goes. B.C. seems to be the pinnacle as far as I can tell. -
Hey! I caught on, but since I searched and could not find the original I did a double take.

Too much capitalization leads me to believe that that isn't an original gtd post. yours would read more like this. you know what i mean?

By the way, thanks for the link. I'll definitely check that one out.

How about the fact that they have no running game themselves? For their supposed improved defense to actually work they'd need a grind-it-out running game to complement things. That's by far their biggest question mark going into the season, and that's probably what they need the most. Their defense will tire, Brett won't have the luxury of forcing defenses to choose run or pass, and will force throws in like never before. I'm a Favre fan, but I'm also amazed at the number of people picking them to win the division. Of course, in the NFL who knows, especially a season like this, but barring a breakthrough year for one of their RB, I don't see it happening.

Sorta off-topic but not really; where do you guys go for your football fix, whether it's news, recap, op-eds, whatever? I generally go to ESPN but I admit the site has become kind of weak especially for non-insiders. I have heard that PFW is good, but I haven't gone much. The past few seasons I haven't followed football as much as I'd like (though I still kept track of everything going on, if only for fantasy purposes), and I'm hoping to change that up some this year, so I'm looking to find new sources of information.

It's amazing how biased some here are for teams they like/against teams they hate. With that being said, the Bills go undefeated blowing out the 49'ers in the Super Bowl by 79.

Wait, the Matt Youngs and Luke-O's of the world don't go in the music folder anymore? Maybe I should stop by there more often.

I wasn't bumping this thread to be a dipshit like Van Halen though, I actually wanted to read what the guy had to say and was wondering if anyone knew of a copy lying around. Does he even write online anymore? -

Much like King Kamala, I try to avoid eating out anyway, and most of the places where I do eat they cook the food in front of you (fast food) or are too nice to afford to fuck around. At least, I think they're too nice. I'd never be cut out for that line of work anyway. I can't be nice to people or cheery like that all the time, and probably wouldn't get big tips since I wouldn't really care enough to do everything properly. Thankfully I was never in a situation where I had to get such a job. -

Were they old? That sounds horrible. Since most of you (unfortunately) worked in food service, how often does food actually get tampered, and what does it take for that to happen? -

The Food Folder needs a catchy tagline as well. This blank space nonsense won't do. -

Does anyone know where I can read this? I was looking for this today and was disappointed to see it was gone. I'm curious to see what was so bad to evoke such a reaction out of everyone. -
You've never had chocolate chip pancakes?

I'd like to say I agree with all of the above. I will nominate myself for modding the food folder, that's the one folder I probably will never leave. Emphasis on moving pop culture folders to the top and moving wrestling folders to the bottom. -
Just for fun. Ha. Fag.
