Half-Year Polling and Discussion
Your Paragon of Virtue replied to Lord of The Curry's topic in Mixed Martial Arts
A one-sided fight doesn't make it any less great. Fedor vs. Minotauro I is one of the best fights I've ever seen and it was also one of the most one-sided. Couture's fight was one of my favourites of the year, mainly because of all the drama surrounding it and the fact that Randy Couture at 43 blah blah blah Randy is God blah blah ya feel me? I don't need to go into all that again. I can understand why a Tim Sylvia fan might not enjoy it though -
To make things even weirder Wanderlei has an announcement on his site that the fight is happening, although it's a week old, but still, what the fuck?
-
Dana White is now saying the Chuck fight is probably off. I think they just don't want to fall flat on their face again in case it doesn't happen, but if it really is true, then I am gonna be hard pressed to believe anything Dana says in the future.
-
Because it's not as if Patry has falsely advertised or mistreated Team Thompkins before...
-
Im not in the city right now for the summer, but maybe that's why. Victor was one of the few guys not feeding him excuses on why he lost, while the other guys like Patry (a slimey fucking snake if there ever was one) probably tried to tell him it wasn't his fault, he didn't train alot(which is true, but still no excuses), etc. He wasn't trying to feed him excuses and maybe GSP was not too fond of someone who wasn't being a yes-man. Also he went back to train with Fabio at BTT, a rival gym of Tristar where Victor is the head guy.
-
Patry got in GSP's ear I've heard, among other people in his crew. Not Vargotsky of course. But Serra was a bitch to the point where he got GSP kicked out Renzo's school. That's way overboard and very catty, and therefore, bitchy.
-
He's been a bitch about the whole "GSP didn't take me seriously" thing. I actually lost a lot of respect for him over that. Acting very childish.
-
But you have a little bit of the Jitz training, and I ain't talkin' bout Foosball baby.
-
I prefer wop. Guinea would be acceptable, but that's far too endearing.
-
Hey Rudo at least get the reference right and use AKA, not ATT. Georges' toughest test to date, including Hughes and BJ, purely because of styles and the fact that he's coming off a devastating loss. But that just means that we will see a stronger, meaner and all around more badass GSP this time around!
-
Are you talking to me or him? Because Chuck's fight wasn't really more than speculation until today, and that's really what makes this awesome. I would have picked Chuck pretty confidently before, but after he was felled by a right hook, I'm not so sure. As we all know Wanderlei loves those wild swinging hooks, and that's really what spelled the beginning of the end against Rampage in their second fight. I would love to see Evan Tanner fight Anderson Silva. Anderson would be a big favourite obviously, but Tanner's style is pretty effective, and that guy is underrated in the clinch, as he's really good and would probably use his greco to counter Silva's muay thai. We all know how devastating his ground and pound is. Don't get me wrong, he'd need a few tune up fights and even then who knows if he'd get the chance, but they're both exciting fighters so I'd love to see that fight go down. Shogun's wild acrobatic shit vs. Machida's methodical picking apart should be good as well. I'd like to see how each guy responds to the complete opposite of their style. Machida's always needed to be tested, but this is a lot more than just a test. Fitch vs. Diego is self-explanatory levels of awesomeness. EVAN TANNER BABY!

Wait, what's so similar about the names there?
-
I'm pretty sure it's vice versa, as someone on the site claimed to have created it. I don't feel like checking. The site is just filled with a bunch of assholes, far worse than here.
-
Nog, Sherk, and Silva are unknown. I get what he is saying, but Silva will quickly become a star with the way he fights and his charisma. It's only a matter of time.

Nick Diaz is pretty hardcore, but not in a Mike Tyson kinda way. Give Robbie Lawler some time, I'm sure his retardation will develop into Mike Tyson levels. -
What's the shame game, and don't act like SPMan didn't have it coming to him with that bullshit. I don't think I'm that mean, but I have been spending a lot of time at the shithole that is known as the UpstandingFuckingCitizens board, so I can see why I might come off as a little meaner to people here. They're a bunch of assholes over there:

Movie moments that gave/give you chills *Spoilers throughout*
Your Paragon of Virtue replied to Angle-plex's topic in Television & Film
Can we bold the movie and leave a little space before we go into the actual moment? That would make it easier for me to skip over posts of movies I plan on seeing sometime soon. Memento When Guy Pierce's character finally realizes that it's just a never ending cycle, and that he isn't really killing John G but is just giving himself a purpose because he has nothing left. -
How much of a difference does the altitude actually make? Both in terms of cardio as well as things like carrying the ball further for the Rockies? I always thought it was exaggerated but maybe no?
-
I don't think he deserves any flack at all. As a guy that wanted to be a legitimate athlete and wanted to try his hand at football before he got too old, I don't mind that he tried it out. Also, he's gone off on what it's like to work for Vince, and how much he disliked it. He's a hometown guy too, preferring to stay in Minnesota for most of the year rather than travel all the time, like 250 days as the WWE would demand. So I don't see anything wrong with his decision.
-
No there is a big thread on Sherdog about it, with a few good comments.
-
I heard some guy plummeted to his death at the show. You know anything about this?
-
Those guys have the wrestling to fuck with him though, and his standup defense didn't look so hot. His cardio is out of this world. Hermes provided all the excitement in that fight. I feel bad, he even dyed his hair colour to match the title.

I almost shit myself when I saw Noguiera drop from that high kick. Jesus.

Drama queen.

Joe Stevenson on Off The Record http://media.putfile.com/otr-67 Along with Razor Ruddock, Steve Molitor, and Shawn Tompkins. It's a Canadian Sports Panel show on The Sports Network. I don't really like it much anymore, but I figure this topic would garner some interest. If anyone wants proof that MMA is safer than Boxing, just listen to Razor Ruddock talk.
