A lot of you are in denial. This may not be directly related to the McMahons, but how can you not see that this will open up the floodgates. This is *the* biggest story on professional wrestling ever. That's the truth. All the facts about the early deaths will come out in the mainstream for the first time. If nothing happens now, then it never will, and sadly I think that's the case. I hope that for the sake of a lot of these guys changes are made though.

What alot of people don't understand about mental illness and crime is that it's never an excuse, but it can make a bad situation worse. For instance, maybe Benoit already had a short fuse, and was already a bit of a screwjob. In addition, maybe he's genetically predisposed to being hotheaded. Still this wouldn't make him want to kill his family like that. But throw in a lifetime of head trauma and pharmaceutical abuse with steroids, pain killers and what not, and that can push him over the edge and make him do things he normally wouldn't. It's never one or the other.

I saw the HBO special about pro wrestling deaths on dailymotion yesterday. While I wouldn't blame Vince for this before hearing all the facts, watching that still makes me think I'm looking at a despicable human being who is capable of anything really. That's not hyperbole either, just look at what he did with Jimmy Snuka.

While I like what Zach has to say about the merger, it's hard to take it seriously as he has a *serious* slant against the UFC and especially Dana White. He will try to spin any sort of story into bashing Dana White if there is even a slight opportunity to do so. I'm not saying that what he's saying about the PRIDE sale being dead may not be true, in fact it probably is (though I believe this more because of what Trigg has had to say on the matter), but the fact is he loves to make Dana look bad at every opportunity, so that leads me to believe what he reports with a huge grain of salt, as if a story has some uncertainty, he will pick the result that will cause the UFC to fall flat on its face. I thought Sherdog was bad with that shit, but this is horrible. It's hard to listen to the fight opinion radio show because of this.

I recall arguing it's merits on this board, but I've done a complete 180. I rewatched it recently and I absolutely loved this film, the scenes move seamlessly and all the characters are given proper time to discuss their stories. There's no shame in having this one pretty high.

Sakuraba hasn't done anything significant in almost a decade but he's still a legend in most fan's eyes. What BJ Penn accomplished nobody ever will for a long time, and that's beat the best LW and the best WW within the span of two months, with the latter being previously thought to be unstoppable and the best P4P force in the world. BJ destroyed him, and if he didn't seperate his rib, would have done it the second time too. I can't wait for that rematch (BJ said he doesn't want to stay at LW) so I can see BJ really dish it out to Matt Hughes. Also he put up damn good fights against MW in Rodrigo Gracie (who he dominated on the ground mind you) and Machida. This stuff happened well into 2005, and he had an inactive 2006 because he had other things going on, but after this Saturday we'll see what he does next. I watched the fight with GSP again and I still say it was a draw, unfortunately those aren't scored much. For all of those who don't believe it was a legit injury, most people that were at the event said it was, except for Matt Hughes, but, well, yeah. Also, the only person I can see accomplishing multiple weight class domination like that now, is Kid Yamamoto, and even that is unlikely because he's even more undersized at LW than BJ is at WW. But he's a much better athlete so his physical gifts can diminish the size difference better I think. But hell, I'd like to see him fight a Gomi or Sherk before I go hugging his nuts.
