Well then you'll probably live longer to compensate, if you believe in that sort of karmic stuff. -
That's a huge step up in comp for Bocek. Should be an awesome fight though.

Yeah, this only reinforces the fact that David Stern is a poor commissioner. What a poor handling of the situation. The point about Duncan is a good one. I normally hate the sports guy, but he had a really good article about the whole mess on Page 2. -
We needed you to come in here and really seal the deal though ;)

They're doing it to spite you. Perhaps they resented that I told them the correct answer in the first post. As for the Beatles album, "Two of Us" is good, but the rest is passably slight to overproduced dreck. The worst thing I can say about the Replacements album is "Tommy Gets His Tonsils Out" and "Gary's Got a Boner" are two sides of the same juvenile, if fun, coin. This is true, and even those songs are great little punk numbers.

Wow yeah, great title for the youtube video, seeing as there is no context as to why he's getting shouted at. Professional journalism to say the least You're an idiot. -
Surprised at the results, I voted for the Replacements also.

Everyone thought Sylvia would kill him dead last time too. Still, Tim won't be so stupid this time. -

I read that, I don't know how relevant his wrestling background is. How good is he at boxing? He's not an undisputed champ at his weight class is he? Probably recognizing the popularity of the UFC and looking at a quick paycheck, without understanding what he's in for I gather. -
Ahhh I forgot about him completely. I pegged him as the future of the division at one point. I still do if he manages to heal up and stuff. He's got the skills and physical ability, it's all mental/injury-related with him.

Are you serious about Chonan? I think a fight between Franklin and Doerksen would be awesome, but that's just because anything involving Menno Joe is awesome. I think they train together though.
-
Why would he turn it down? I can only guess that he's not ready, that would have been awesome though. He would have really brought it to Franklin, his strikes are more accurate and he's very quick. He's a little smallish, but would Rich be smart enough to take him down or would he be a dumbass like against Anderson? Ricardo Almeida would get raped methinks. Just a bad style matchup.

That takedown to mount that almost rear mount at the beginning of the fight was damn near laughable. Everybody was disappointed with his jake O'Brien fight. Not me though, that was my favourite fight to watch live, if only because me being high caused Joe Rogan's commentary to be the funniest thing I've ever heard. I have NEVER heard someone rip into a fighter that much, let alone a commentator in the UFC. He was just criticizing the shit out of his ground game, it was jaw dropping hilarious. The highlight was when the fight was entering into the latter stages, like near the end of the second round or so, and he's like "the same thing keeps happening, O'Brien takes him down, guard pass, MOUNT" and he says this to try and describe the fight, yet as he says it that shit actually happens! For that, I will always be a fan of all three of the men involved in this great story. Goldie can go fuck himself though, I don't think anything will make me be a fan of that guy.
-
Well they only said that was the logical choice. It is all speculation. I don't think he should take the fight at this point, as I am pretty certain he's next in line for a title shot.

You're taking away his weapons, that's why. With kicks, knees and elbows it becomes very different. Boxers would do very well because of their speed and agression though. However, a smart thai fighter only need to create distance, circle then kick at the legs to really do damage. Top muay thai fighters are not what you see in K-1 though, you'd have to go to Thailand and see a bunch of 135 lb'ers for that. -

I'm actually gonna start using this, though I may change have for save. It would make more sense that way wouldn't it? -
HBO is using their own team so who knows who will be there. UFC is not doing the production. Fedor>Mayweather is a really dumb thing to say, but after the black boxers comment why should I be surprised? I really like PBF but I'm tired of him just picking shots. He seemed too unsure of himself to really let loose. I wanted to see more combinations, I think he was capable at times. It's too bad because he probably could have stopped Oscar. Legitimate question: for those in the know, that don't hate on Oscar (one of my favourite boxers) do you think if he was in his prime he could've taken this fight? It seems that the reason for his slowing down had to do with him just not having the gas to keep up. I doubt that was due to lack of training for his conditioning, as he probably trained like a madman for the fight. But I assume it was due to the fact that he's old. If he had youth on his side would that have made a big difference? Will this tarnish Pretty Boy's win since Oscar was essentially over the hill?

I was admittedly overrating Jimmerson but I think the point still stands. If Jimmerson was 50-0 would his boxing skills have helped him avoid the takedown? I don't think so. Francois Botha has not fared too well in K-1, he was a world class boxer at one point I believe, he did fight for the world title (getting his ass kicked admittedly). He got kicked in the head and embarrassed by Cyril Abidi, the same guy who got knocked out by Rampage twice. I think you're assuming that a boxer's physical gifts would be enough for them to avoid the ground, but skills are more important. There are so many things a boxer does that he would not be able to do in MMA, for obvious reasons, but even in a strict muay thai match where it's all striking. Weaving would cause him to get kneed in the face, the shuffling of his feet would get leg kicked to all hell. This doesn't take into account the grappling aspect of it, which is a whole other world to worry about.
