Georges wasn't overconfident, if anything he may have been the opposite. I saw him today, went right back into training and you can tell he was annoyed by all the people trying to give him advice about "learning" from the experience, though he still had that polite smile. He'll be okay, anybody that takes the beating he did and is back to training in less than 48 hours (travelling across the continent in the meantime) has heart and determination, I don't care what anyone says. Anyway, the thing about Fedor and Lindland is that Lindland's body type is a lot smaller than Fedor's. I know Randy and Sylvia had the same issue, but Lindland is arguably not even as skilled as Fedor, while Randy is much more skilled than Sylvia. When a guy has a size advantage, is of the same skill level, and has never wavered from an intelligent gameplan or lost focus, you won't win. *Lindland knocks out Fedor* OH SHIT!

Does anyone know the actual schedule of the playoffs? They have not been released yet, but I'd like to know if there's a chance for me to see them by the time I get home. I go home on the 28th and the last game of the season is the 18th. Raptors are seeded as a home team so odds are they will play at home first and early, so I'm thinking I may miss it.

Was anyone else really pissed off that Matt Hughes kept going "I love it" while laughing and clapping? I think it's real hard now to try and defend him as being anything but a dick.

GSP seemed to be giving Serra too much respect, even in the pre-fight interviews. I don't know why he was so hesitant. The guy needs to be meaner.

My point is that he came back and won the fight, he didn't get put away like he did there. And Josh's promo was pretty awesome.

GSP's chin was not exposed here, he took some tough shots against BJ as well, who also has a lot of power. He also got through a brawl with BJ who is a much better striker than Matt. This is true and I'm kinda annoyed that at the end of the season most people will look at Jens as being the better coach because of this. So far BJ seems like a much cooler guy. From what I've heard from guys that have trained at MFS, Jens has a serious case of small man's syndrome. Who knows though, I think BJ has the better coaching staff with him, and while Jens isn't Ken Shamrock, I can see BJ's training helping his guys win the closer fights. I can't believe they've had a guy on there that has been training for a shorter period of time than I have. That's pathetic but it's par for the course for this show. You need the cans like Gran Naniwa to make guys like Cole Miller look good, but it still sucks to watch it. Homeless DeSouza rules.

This guy? He's actually pretty cool, nice guy. Though I don't train with him personally, so I can imagine that if I were to do so my opinion of him would change drastically. He's the head of Tristar and the guy that you see in GSP's corner from time to time. At first I thought you meant Victor Zilbermann. He's a bit nutso too, apparently if you're not looking at him in the eyes while he's explaining something he will react physically. They need to update that website though, in this day and age you should take advantage of all technological opportunities you can get. We have more than one amateur fighter, we have like 20 at least. I think like 5 or 6 alone are fighting next Saturday on the 14th (cheap plug, only twenty bucks to come). It's gonna be better than this UFC card, I can promise you that.

I've been switching constantly between Kos and Diego, this fight is a pick'em in my opinion. I think Diego's improved striking may make the difference though.

I'm hyping up Gonzaga big time. I know the guy won't win but the lack of a shot people are giving him is ludicrous. I would have felt more comfortable if he slowly worked his way up the ladder, but at this point as long as he comes in shape he still has a tremendous chance to pull off the upset. He's tapped some tough guys in ADCC (PDP for one) and has adapted his style really well for MMA. He's far different than he was back when he lost to Werdum.

Marcelo's style is not as adaptable for MMA, and unless he makes some major changes he's going to have some problems. Odds are he'll get KO'ed by a good striker with a wrestling background sometime soon. Armdrags from your back barely ever work in MMA.

The point is if your cardio is gone you drop your hands, are much less likely to push the pace which is in itself a defence against his punching as it keeps him busy (Fatigue makes cowards of us all), and your recovery time from a big shot is much smaller. You'd be crazy to think bad cardio has no effect on defending yourself from strikes. I was thinking four years ago was a lifetime in MMA as well, but then I realized that the game hasn't evolved much. There are very few fighters who have come out that have been much more well-rounded in terms of their skills when compared to the top guys back then. The growth rate in terms of skill-set has been much slower in the past four years then in the four years before that.

I dont know how significant that story is. I still hold out hope that the guy is still healthy. I don't see a rematch going much different for Randy with Josh Barnett. Tim Sylvia didn't use his size at all in that fight. Big HW Grapplers still pose a problem for Couture.

Tyson Griffin or Sherk vs. Ishida would be good. The positioning/grappling exchanges would probably be pretty sick. Like I've stated earlier, Randy vs. Big Nog is a fight I've wanted to see for awhile. It would be interesting to see how Randy, a great strategist, approaches someone as dynamic as Noguiera.

Unless the reason why you took that shot was due to bad cardio, which it was. Still, I'd like to see him bounce back. No excuses in this fight really, Lawler is just a bad matchup for Trigg. I'd still like to see Trigg get thrown in the Zuffa MW mix.

Kang couldn't even beat Misaki, and we know your thoughts on him. Well I actually think Rich would win. But Kang fought Misaki with one arm. It's not fair to use that to judge the guy. That's why Misaki's stock was so inflated, until Trigg and indirectly Lawler brought it crashing back down to earth.

Overeem vs. Bisping would be interesting. Alistair seems to have him trumped as far as skill is concerned but might not have the gas tank to avoid getting ktfo. Edgar vs. Melendez would probably be a REALLY fun fight. Rich Franklin vs. Denis Kang should happen. Denis would probably have a smarter game plan when facing off against Silva.
