What Silva fiasco are you referring to? Do you mean it was wrong for Arona to have not beaten him in the first place, or that him fucking up in America? Arona is so much of a worse style matchup for Soko this time around. He is just as powerful thanks to his milk, vitamins and prayers and a better wrestler than Lil Nog. Normally you'd think that the fact that he is hesitant on the feet would be a bad thing, but in this case it's actually an asset as he won't bother trying to stand up. -
Fuck them. Prince is the definition of hetero.

Lushus is on a mission to take out all of the most recognizable TSM posters. First Edwin and Kotz, now AoO. He has the toughest draw for sure, especially if you consider that he will either be going against Chave or Inc next, should he win.
-
Don't forget that he was screwed by the wonky rules against Melendez as well.
-
Well at least we have this out of the way, seems like we might need a couple more plus about two pages with a circular argument to get the "Suicide is for pussies" quota out of the way. The guy was pretty funny, but sadly enough this was the most visible he's been in the news.
-
If you meet him in real life. I haven't, but he's good friends with our coach at Tristar who has done seminars with him, and apparently he's a very helpful/nice guy. Also fat.
-
It's weird having Joe Lauzon there as he's already had a fight in the UFC, with a win over a TUF coach at that. Apparently BJ comes off as a huge asshole in this one.

Bounces at one. Let's not give him the credit of actually being a manager. -
Everything that's wrong with Marvin is summed up in those two posts.

What are the shit folders?

While it was bad, it wasn't "Worst striking I've ever seen in a fight bad" like Sherdog said. Also interesting is that Tito is in his corner. Post fight interview is awesome, as expected.

Matt Hamill vs Rex Holman (UFC 68) - Previously Unaired http://rapidshare.com/files/19685362/Matt_...an__UFC_68_.wmv or http://www.megaupload.com/?d=LX1ALB7D Jamie Varner vs Jason Gilliam (UFC 68) - Previously Unaired http://rapidshare.com/files/19684686/Jamie...am__UFC_68_.wmv or http://www.megaupload.com/?d=CCSVFPHX Jon Fitch Vs. Luigi Fioravanti http://www.megaupload.com/?d=SKSLT2E7 Fitch fight is particularly good, I don't know why the Tibau fight hasn't been upped though. After watching the prelims overall this card turned out to be about 100x better than I thought it would have been.

Okay I have a few questions; Why does Bruno hate Vince? Any specific story/reason? How was Wendy Richter screwed out of the WWF? Is there any way to watch the actual induction ceremony? Why is popularity so important anyway, is it like this thing is a PPV draw that needs names? Why does it matter who current fans remember? For MX: Why do you think Owen will never be inducted?

I like Sherk, though I'm in the minority. So RRR, what did you think of Heath's showing in the UFC? -

That's not a very good example, but you can't really throw the left because the closer you come in to hit the guy, the further your throat is driven into the shin, so it's not really effective. Here's a better look at it: -
I hope you're joking. I don't care much for the other parts of this board anymore, so RRR being back is good since the MMA discussion was lacking.
-
Oh, and apparently the injury that Sylvia had was a serious back injury about a week out of the fight and he considered not fighting at all, according to Hughes. Considering how little sympathy Hughes gave his guys on TUF for injuries, this one must have been really bad for him to not fight up to his level. I guess whoever said he fought without a spine or backbone was right.

Another thing, I totally agree with Rogan's rant about standing up fighters. I hate seeing guys stall to avoid grappling situations and to me it's not indicative of a "real" fight which at the end of the day MMA tries to mimick, with some safety rules and regulations in place. I don't care if someone else thinks it is boring, but people should learn to fight their way out. That's why I was really happy when Anderson didn't stall for the standup against Lutter but instead bucked his way up.

Haha, after seeing how well Randy performed after his comeback from retirement I guess RRR tries to do the same? Many people were talking about how shitty this card was on paper, but much like the PRIDE card it came through big time. THAT GUY IS MY HERO! I'm serious though, how many people can do that? Fuck Tim Sylvia for even mentioning the injury. This fight brought all to light about why people hate him. Boring as hell on the feet, clueless as to how to adjust his gameplan, when the fight went to the ground in the first round instead of fighting he tried to hold on for a standup, completely makes an ass of himself in the interview, etc. The guys fights not to lose these days, and now I'm glad that we will probably never see him hold that HW Title again. Even if Mirko leaves, in that time odds are the UFC will bring in some capable HW that will take it to Tim. After seeing this fight I'd put money on Gonzaga if the line was juicy enough.

Does anyone have a copy of this, audio or video?

http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/uk_politics/6380933.stm Something that strikes me as odd is the fact that only 132 British soldiers have died. That can't be right can it? I thought it was a lot higher, closer to the 3000 or so Americans that have died. Or is there some technicality I'm missing here? I know most of the backlash in the United States had to do with bringing "their" boys home, but there's way more backlash in Britain and always has been yet their death toll is much lower. I guess it must have to do with the WMD falsehood. Can anyone clear this fact up or is that the real number? Regardless, this has to be a blow to Bush. His biggest ally is essentially admitting he was wrong by making a major withdrawal.

http://www.rollingstone.com/news/story/5939950/bug_chasers I didn't know where else to put this, so I figured the Chocolate socket was as good a place as any.

I'm late on the Shogun thing, but while I think that he has a groundgame that is much better than Chuck's, I think it doesn't matter since he won't get the fight to the ground. Shogun's wild brawling type style is tailor-made for a slugger like Chuck to find one shot to knock him out. It wasn't just the Nak fight, his standup didn't look so hot against Diabete either. He needs to take that fight to the ground to win, and he won't be able to do it. It's like in boxing, sluggers match up well with swarmers, and this should turn out to be the same. Too bad they'll never fight. After seeing PDP do relatively well (at least compared to expectations) I'm curious to see how Werdum will do. He might be able to pull it off. Of course if he gets steamrolled, PDP, who has adapted his style well for MMA, looks much better as a result. -
PRIDE 33- The Second Coming
Your Paragon of Virtue replied to Lord of The Curry's topic in Mixed Martial Arts
I still really like PRIDE, contrary to what some might believe over here or on another board I frequent (ironically referred to as the UFC). The main problems I have are with matchmaking and the use of their championship belts. Judging to a lesser extent. Such basic tenets of a company's strategy that any fight fan could really set it up, hell I honestly believe I Could and that's not hyperbole. Thing is, until they stop with the constant GP crap as well as just build up younger fighters by matching them up accordingly rather than throwing them to the wolves, their shows won't be as good as they could be. Saturday's show proved that they have the ability to put on a better show than the UFC in a big way, because right now the UFC is purposely diluting their own product in order to make more money. I guess that's okay for them, but as a fan I don't like it. -

Whoa, who the hell is saying it's their final show? Gomi would be the best LW in the world if he wasn't so damn arrogant. Lack of training is what caused him to lose. There's also no way to put Sakurai on top of him after he got destroyed by Gomi. Aoki or Melendez is arguable, but Melendez should have lost the fight with TK and even if you think he won he didn't beat him nearly as definitively as Gomi did. Aoki is probably a good choice, but the guy hasn't beaten a top tier guy at LW. That leaves Nick Diaz, but he has one glaring loss on his record... What?
