PRIDE in USA, October 21st!
Your Paragon of Virtue replied to Lt. Al Giardello's topic in Mixed Martial Arts
I saw a link for "Mike Tyson to box again" on my Netscape Home page. Of course it mentioned that he's only going to box exhibition fights, but it mentioned that he will be doing it with PFC. Just saying, never saw UFC on Netscape, that's a pretty popular website right thurr. -

I thought you were trying to be gay for a minute there, referring to everyone's favourite Peterborough-an. -

I wouldn't say it was a matter of Coleman being the only one to step up, more like he was the most favourable because of the fact that he is not in the Final Four, and because he is an American fighter, specifically one who was a UFC star before. PRIDE tried to make an attempt to reach out to the American audience, which is understandable, but it's still a mismatch on paper and really doesn't need to happen. Same reasoning behind using Randleman. He is one of the most inconsistent fighters around, hasn't had a big win since the Cro Cop fight, and now he's fighting their top LHW? From a rankings perspective, much like the other fight, it blows. From a marketing perspective, it makes sense. I'm not in that market, so I choose to be disinterested seeing as how I prefer to see good matchups. I'll wait till I see the rest of the card before passing judgement, since a couple of squash matches aren't ever that bad. -

30-23 is just obscene though. The other judges didn't have it nearly as lopsided. -

I heard a judge scored the Sammy Morgan fight 30-23. That's insane if true. -

Coleman can't be afraid of anyone, seeing as how he's now fighting Fedor. -
Oh who cares, I smoke pot all the time. I've also driven in the car with people who had a bit to drink, though they were good enough to the point where you wouldn't be able to tell the difference. This shit happens all the time.

If it was the result of a drug deal and nothing more, and your story is true, then I still don't say he was responsible. It's not like he shot her, or even wanted someone else to. He should be free of any charges, save for drug dealing of course.
-
Wait, what? He ordered someone to shoot his pregnant girlfriend. I can't tell if you're kidding or not. No he didn't. Rae owed the guy some money from a drug deal, the guy and his friend was looking for rae, asked his girlfriend, she said fuck you and flipped him off, dude got pissed and shot her. He told all this to the police when he was arrested. THEN the offered him a deal that said if he said Rae paid him to kill the girl, he wouldn't get the death penalty. Then he changed his story. There was no evidence that Rae paid the guy to kill her. Now Curruth was using the money he made from football to buy huge amounts of drugs, and that in turn got the girl killed so in that sense, yeah, he was responsible. And I am not saying he was a smart/good guy. But he didn't pay someone to murder that girl. Thats what OJ did. This all sounds unbelievable. Why would he worry about getting the death penalty if he had nothing to do with the crime? If he had nothing to do with it, he wouldn't have bothered with a deal. If he didn't order the guy to shoot his girlfriend, why would he worry about the police saying he shot her, to the point where he would agree to say that he ordered this guy to? Where did you get this story/alibi?

Clementi sounds like a fag, acts like a fag, and fights like a fag. I'm still a little bitter over that (non) win he had over Holanda. What a fucking joke. -

Koscheck vs. Karo seems like the next most sensible matchup. +1 for Sasaki's performance though. That was pretty crazy. Why he jumped into guard, I don't know. That was just really weird. EDIT: I definitely don't think Karo underestimated him, so I think you're not giving him full respect there. But you're right about the plateau'ing, and you're not underestimating. Like most other welterweights, he will get murdered by any of the top three guys. This was his swan song. His next fight against either Hughes or GSP will bring him back down to earth hard. I still love the guy though. And Koscheck will get a rematch with Diego soon enough, and it will be more competitive than you think. Kos' solid wrestling background will probably mean he will be able to control Diego better than Karo did and won't get swept, and Diego won't be able to just snake out and take his back. However, if it gets to a scramble Diego can easily get the upper hand. Koscheck's striking is worlds better though. Koscheck would be a solid favourite. -

Well from a damage perspective Diego won it, and from a grappling perspective he won it too. UFC Standards don't say takedowns should be points, it's just the judges are too stupid to understand anything other than takedowns. By UFC criteria, Diego got the first round. -

The moral is that 30-26 needs to be reamed in the ass. I agree. The two 29-28's were just as bad though, since Diego clearly won that last round by 10-8. I was expecting 28-28 x3 myself. No way they'd have a draw. And how can you give Karo round one? He was cut up and had his back taken. No way he did enough for the first round. 29-28 was the right call. 30-26 should be shot though, you're all right about that. -
Save it, Brian.

Let's face it though, none of these welterweights have a prayer of beating Hughes or Rush. The middleweights is a completely different story though. -

I like that this season they show flashbacks of the fights from UFC and there's a lot less drama. -

Serra is a natural at the leadership role since he's so used to it. Expected to see Clementi lose, the guy should have lost to Fabio Holanda when they fought, if they had a ref that had any idea of what submissions are he probably wouldn't be on this show. -

Really happy to see Diego win, and the guy does have exciting fights. However I think after seeing him struggle taking down Alessio GSP would murder him, as would BJ Penn. Sprawl and Brawl galore. Matt Hughes would be more of a fight since Diego is good enough off of his back to give him a good battle. Still, Matt Hughes should pound him out as well. Regardless, the guy's grappling is amazing and his scrambling is almost unparallel in MMA. -
I just realized the one good thing about this fight being off. I can cheer for Babalu again.

Also he registered well after the second season (and essentially the series as we know it) ended. -
Well I guess I should say what my goals are for.. Right now I'm 5'10 and 175 lbs, just kinda slim. Right now I'd like to get lean and eliminate fat while building strength. After I feel that I've cut enough fat out, I'd like to start trying to get bigger. For reference, in a couple of weeks I'm going to get back into training (MMA). My goal for that is to have at least one professional fight. I'm pretty far off, but I figure with some smart training I can do it in a couple of years or so, maybe three. I will have access to a weightlifting room as well, if anyone can offer specific exercises/plans for me to do. Any help would be appreciated. EDIT: One more thing regarding diet; cheap and healthy are pretty much two important qualities. I don't really care if it tastes bland. There's always a day when you're allowed to cheat anyway.
