What UFC fighters have the most potential???
Your Paragon of Virtue replied to Lt. Al Giardello's topic in Mixed Martial Arts
I don't understand both parts of this statement. -
Who here supports the current administration?

I figured the best way to show that you would support them is by voting, so I figure that's the best poll question to use. Obviously, Americans are the only ones directly affected by the man so they should probably be the only ones voting in the poll, but it would be nice to hear more outside perspectives in the posts -

Yeah that's what I remembered hearing, since he's out in SLC, Utah. He should train with an actual team. -
Spelling is not just memorization either. You have to learn about a bunch of different languages of origin in order to figure out where the word came from. Most of these words, the kids don't memorize, they take their knowledge of how letters would be arranged depending on what country it came from, or "style" it's in, and work off of that. There is deduction involved, every word the kids get they don't memorize, probably most actually. And I hate the spelling bee, what a waste of time to have it on TV, and it's kind of lame to have it on national TV. The worst was when I saw it for like five minutes and they talked about certain contestants past experiences, like "last year they made this mistake, and they have been working hard to correct it....It's so sad to see him go, he was a great kid, etc." Jesus Christ.

I also have to disagree about Matt Hughes only powering out submissions, but that's a whole other argument. It basically boils down to how I'm not gonna fault him for bringing up his physical gifts to match the amount of technique he has.

Koscheck has finished all but one of his opponents (the cagey Skywalker), has amazing athleticism, toughness and is training with one of the best camps, especially for his style. He'll be a UFC champ within the next three years I think, even in the toughest division in MMA. Mike Swick is another good call, but he seems to leave his head up often in striking exchanges, and I'm not sold on his chin as of now. I think Matt Hamill, even if he's not a UFC fighter technically, has loads of potential. Guillard needs to find a good team, amazing athleticism, but I don't know who he's training with. Even though he's kind of established, Nick Diaz as young as he is has potential. The guy is a great fighter, but if he bulked up some as well as worked on mixing his game together (he seems to have lots of skills, but doesn't seem to work them together well enough) he could be a star as well. -
No, he's not underrated by his own fault. A lot of people don't give him credit because he acts like a retard. That's what I'm saying. I understand Sub Grappling is different than MMA subs (hello Matt Serra) but that's still a good indicator of whether he simply runs through guys or he is more slick. The thing with Diego is that he CAN run through people, but if he can't, he relies on skills. You say Diego relies on powering out armbars and submissions, and you wanna talk about proving your submissions in MMA, how many guys has Karo submitted on the big stage? The ugliest man in MMA is like a poor man's Dave Menne (whose not a star in his own right). Karo has overpowered his opponents just as much as Diego if not moreso. In fact, I'd say Karo relies more on his physicality than Diego, proof of this is that Karo hasn't really shown much off of his back and really tends to get beat on by guys stronger than him, especially wrestlers. All of his wins have come when he's used his superior strength to manhandle guys. They're both slick, don't get me wrong, but whenever Karo runs into someone bigger than he he gets manhandled. Diego's guard in MMA has proven to be more offensive, even when dealing with bigger guys. His guard is more effective than Karo's in my opinion. Karo squeaked by Diaz, and almost was caught in a kimura, while Diego almost caught Diaz in an armbar, and beat him handily. Their one common opponent last time I checked, I could be wrong though. I still would pick Karo (and this is a pick'em), based on his superior clinch game and his ability to work on top, however I think it's wrong to say that Diego's ground game is more reliant on power than Karo's is, for the reasons stated above. If anything, the fact that Diego is more capable off of his back than Karo might be the deciding factor, as they're both bound to end up there one way or another. Karo's got a shitty sprawl.

Diego's extensive submission grappling resume tells me that skill has a lot to do with it. He's underrated because he's retarded.

My first reaction, HOLY FUCKING SHIT THat's out of the blue. I always wondered what would happen if a fighter just all of a sudden died like that, I mean we're all surprised by injuries and stuff like that, but something like a sudden death. This is kinda close to that. My second reaction: -
MMA, Film, Music to a lesser extent. I don't get the map thing.

Where's the proof that this loser is Crono?

The big scar is cool actually. Just get a tan, wear an eye patch and learn some tiger fireballs so that you can be like Sagat. I've gotta scar above my right eye that's very noticeable, especially when I have short hair, not really a problem. In fact, when I cut my hair from really long lengths, most girls gave me more attention since even though the scar was more visible, I didn't look like a tool as I did with long hair. Take a step back and look at it like we do. You had an amazing surgery that caused you to live your life rather than die before you could walk, and you're bitching about the scar you got? Don't you see how ridiculous that is? -

He's just talking about a slump buster. I'm learning quite a bit about some of you in this thread. What the hell? Anyways, LT is right about wrestlers being able to pull MMA moves off better than MMA guys, and why that's false. If that were the case, you could work any sport and make it look better. As we can tell from sports movies, this is not often the case. -

I was socially awkward until like two years ago or so, like 17, and some people will be at that stage a lot older, like Marvin and WP. If you keep thinking you're too old to be that way, you'll never get out of that rut, it's never too late to start. Agreed about athletics and drama helping out your social development. -

Tsk tsk tsk Sorry, after all that was said in this thread, that was about the most adequate reply I could come up with. I knew being tolerant would bite me in the ass someday. Goddamnit.. -

I liked the Saved By the Bell remix skit, the first one with the science projects. Not that funny though, to start a thread over it.
