The Things That Anger You Thread.
Your Paragon of Virtue replied to Man Who Sold The World's topic in General Chat
While his reaction is pretty stupid, you should tell him about his B.O. I mean, why wouldn't you? -
Nowhere there did I say it did. The point is a guy that's teaching a university level lecture, considering all the work that he's put in to get there, would have the self-confidence in his accomplishments (so you'd think) required to not be nervous speaking in public. But it's a good thing he was joking!
-
Is this a joke? Not trying to be crass, but I figured as a guy as educated and accomplished as you seem to be that you wouldn't have issues with simple social issues like a lack of anxiety or being able to look someone in the eye.

Cars and computers are the main ones that a lot of people around me are into that I couldn't care less about. Oh, video games too for the most part. -
UFC 93: Franklin vs. Henderson
Your Paragon of Virtue replied to Lt. Al Giardello's topic in Mixed Martial Arts
No way, I thought this card was awesome. Horn/Palhares was lots of fun, Belcher/Kang was slow at parts but definitely solid. Opening fight was about as action packed as expected, the main event delivered and we got the greatest fight of all time. Throw in two UK Kids on Speed and this card rocked. -

Bruce Buffer is horrible at emphasizing certain parts of a guy's name. -

It's the greatest all the way from the entrance to the post fight and everything in between. EVERYTHING. I can't remember the last time I was that entertained or a fight brought that many dimensions to it, from violence to drama to outright comedy. YOURE A FUCKING LEGEND -

Watching those two little kids fight was awesome. They were on speed or something. Why all the spoiler tags? It's on PPV now no? -

Also Rich doesn't stall, he's actually really good at getting to his feet on his own, which is why he's got such a good defensive guard, because he gives guys too much to worry about. -

When I said a lot more on the feet I meant than Hamill not Franklin. I agree about Franklin getting underrated here which is why I brought it up, but I do think Dan has developed a nice standup game over the past couple of years and while he goes for it a lot, still has more to offer than the big right hand. The left hook is probably more useful for him now actually, but that's besides the point. -

http://sherdog.com/news/articles/pros-pick...-franklin-15778 Surprised at the number of pro's picking Dan. Rich's showing against a wrestler much more powerful and even skilled than Dan in his last fight doesn't seem to resonate with a lot of people. Dan Henderson obviously offers a lot more on the feet, but I don't think his wrestling will play much of a factor in this fight as some people might like to believe. -

I have that issue, and I thought what he did was pretty cool. I'm an anti-authority hippie though. -
UFC 94 - Georges St. Pierre vs. BJ Penn II
Your Paragon of Virtue replied to Mik's topic in Mixed Martial Arts
I heard BJ was getting pampered like a prince. He had coaches taking off his handwraps and toweling him off. Glad to see he's still a spoiled kid. Over here GSP gets thrown to the wolves all the time, there are guys every sparring session that can't wait to kill him just to say they took a round from the UFC WW champ. He's always having to fight hungry lions to make sure he doesn't get complacent. He takes this in a big way. -
Football (Soccer) for Americans
Your Paragon of Virtue replied to Obi Chris Kenobi's topic in Sports
Also, which is generally considered to be the more legitimate win, a Champions League or English Premiership? I feel like Champion's would be because of the fact that you're taking teams from all over Europe, but at the same time I feel like with the Premiership league it could be tougher because the competition amongst the top four big teams (Arsenal, Liverpool, Chelsea and Man U) gets pretty intense. -

Your Paragon of Virtue replied to Obi Chris Kenobi's topic in Sports
I can see that, but I don't understand why you can't just make the final four in the playoffs be the four teams that represent the league in Champions League play. -

What's up with the randomness of the schedule? The Premier league taking extended breaks for the Champion's League which then goes on extended breaks too? Why don't they do it at separate times? Also, why don't they have a playoff, or tourney? Why is it just the team with the most points? Knockout stages are proven to be fun in all sports, even in soccer for the FA Cup and the big international competitions, why not do it for the Premier League? -

I've wanted to do this for ages, but I'm clueless as to which team I'd want to support. I don't even know if it would be a Premier League team or one from elsewhere in the FA. All I know is it's not Man U. Wayne Rooney says fuck you to whomever didn't let me hotlink this picture. Good job on the thread Chris, and yeah you're right, it's better late than never! -

Agree with gtd about the excess of lists, especially Bob's, jesus. I haven't seen many, but I'm surprised at the lack of Gran Torino, and the abundance of Tropic Thunder and Pineapple Express. -

Tito was getting taken down anyway, and he flipped that guillotine over and got mount iirc. Tito showed he was the better fighter that night. I am not so sure he'd be able to do it again though. At least I feel good knowing his stock has gotten significantly higher considering who fought for the title at UFC 92. People on the internet have been bashing him for years, and here are two fighters fighting for the top spot in the world and he's got a win over one and should have had a win over the other. It's nice. -
So K-1 level strikers means jack shit now. That pro wrestler guy's intro with the little chubby kid was pretty awesome. Bob Sapp is hilariously bad. Aoki is still the king of LW Jap MMA though, regardless of the Hansen loss. Bad style matchup for Alvarez though, as his ground game has always been pretty weak and his bullrush style only allows him to make even more mistakes than he normally would. Against a grappler as technically tight as Aoki, well, yeah. Dude K-1 strikers really suck. They all got pwned to the max. I still can't get over that TK flying knee. Mirko looked out of shape, he's taking six months off, and he will probably get even more out of shape. Oh well. Oh and Alistair looks like he gained at least thirty pounds since the LHW tournament way back when. He looks so damn stocky, not even considering that he's fucking 6'4.
