I had no idea KKC was such a fucking loser. He was always just another random whose posts I skipped, but at least now I'll have an idea of *why* I am skipping them.

Where would you rank Roberto Alomar in terms of second basemen, and how close was he to making this line-up?

Kim was robbed hardcore, I saw Sherdog's PBP and was shocked one guy gave him the fight. Breen scoring it a draw was even more fucked up. Kim deserves a tune-up fight next so he can destroy someone and boost his name again.

This card has a lot of potential murders on it. Good stuff.

Thanks for bringing this to my attention. Phillips BJJ was highly touted too.

Okay I thought this was an all-time list, rather than current MMA. It's just that whoever is the best today is probably the best ever considering the evolution of the sport, so it's easy to mix them up.

    Tennis Thread.

Nadal vs. Federer is far better than Agassi vs. Sampras. Federer has hardly been dominant lately either, with Nadal taking over as the new king and tons of exciting new stars like Djokovic (sp) and Monfils. The final for the Aussie Open was awesome, one of the best tennis matches I've ever seen personally (haven't seen a lot). But really great back and forth action in this one.

But wins over Shamrock, Randleman, and other Heavyweights while he should have been a natural middleweight (185) is really fucking impressive, even in the current climate. Take into account that this was when these guys were in their prime and not washed up (whereas nowadays a win over Shamrock is still worth something, if you're a fan of Cung Le). Underrated in my opinion. Way more impressive than anything Schilt has done in MMA. His wins in K-1 are in a horrible time for that company also. Kid Yamamoto would be my pick for Japan.

Also for Armenia, I'd rather have Karo than Mousasi, even if he has been kinda slow recently. Mousasi's still got a lot to prove in my opinion.

As far as Holland goes, what about Bas Rutten? I know he's old school, but amazing in his time.

I'm totally fine with using my comment. Also, lots more judo is gonna start to be applied in MMA. In my opinion alot of the footsweeps (which are used somewhat in wrestling but not really because GR doesn't allow leg trips and freestyle is played so low) are going to be utilized in conjunction with muay thai and clinching. The best example of this is Lyoto, who has used awesome footsweeps both against Thiago and against Tito. I think it's gotten a bad rap because of guys like Remco Pardoel, but Judo, due to its straight up stance will prove to be pretty effective. Most fans who think "Wrestling/BJJ/Muay Thai/Conditioning FTW" are wrong, if only for the fact that some of these arts themselves evolve alot (BJJ now is wayyyy different than ten years ago).

Where did you hear that Rashad turned down a Rampage fight? Never heard of this. I actually think he would do well quite well against Rampage, because I think it's a bad style matchup for Rampage. I think he would get put on his back pretty often, and as we saw from the Griffin fight Rampage is still pretty rudimentary off of his back. I think it doesn't matter because I think Lyoto will be champ by the end of the year anyway.

I'm still surprised Karo won the fight. I thought that was some hardcore bullshit right there. He looked gassed pretty early.

When you tell someone to go fuck themselves, you better be able to do something other than get your ass beat for twenty minutes.

Wrong. There is 20,540 black people in Calgary. *20,539½ ***** Regarding Kim, I think he throws straighter punches but I think Karo is the more elusive striker and hits harder too. I think much like Yoshida Kim's striking is very basic. I think he gets the shit GnP'ed out of him though, I think Karo is smart enough to not spend too much time on the feet. He's got a chance (surprised that both you AND blue picked him) but not much of one in my opinion. If you think Brown's style gassed him out, well, they don't call him the Heat for nothing. I'm hoping Jones knocks out Bonnar too. He's got huge potential, and Bonnar kinda sucks.

I heard rumours about him blood doping, and doing roids, but didn't know how factual they were.

Surprised at the number of people picking Kim. Panic attack or not, this is a guy that almost lost to Matt Brown. I like Brown, but he's not near the level of Karo. Karo will win this pretty handily, however way he wants.

Yeah being 215 and fighting the monsters of mid-nineties K-1 is a pretty tall order.

How did Andy Hug lose to Pat Smith the first time? Smith's striking never really caught my attention as being anything better than decent, while Hug is a legend in Japan (though a lot of that is for his Karate background). I have been watching some of his highlights and have been pretty impressed with his style, watched a couple of fights too and I'm a fan. It's a shame he died so young.

My memory tells me he won the first round of the Alves fight too. Neither Hughes nor Koscheck could really say the same. I could be wrong on this though, as CBR told me that he remembered Alves being the clear winner of the first round.

    UFC 97: Redemption

I'm pretty confident Stout will wreck Wiman. He's got a style tailor-made to beat this guy. I don't see Wiman taking him down and subbing him early, and I think he'll be too tired later to pull off anything.

That's fucking awesome. And no "fuck Karo's" either. The guy has a pretty serious condition, and I know this is fighting and everything, but we shouldn't be ignorant of how serious and chemical some of this shit can be. I hope he gets proper treatment, and that would explain a lot of the bullying attitude he has displayed in the past. I remember reading about how he broke up with a girl before a fight and spent so much time smoking cigarettes and drinking that it affected him quite a bit. He just needs to learn how to control his emotions better, as fighting involves a lot of mental toughness obviously. I wonder what he was like when he showed up, out of shape or just bat shit weird? He's only 26, he's got a lot of career ahead of him. Tong what makes you think he hasn't been as dedicated to training?
