  1. Yeah, matches are booked. I wish more guys these days would realise that they sucked and do the same thing. Sure matches would be void of any emotion, but it would be better than whatever the hell they're doing nowadays. I'd ask for them to actually learn how to work a match, but that would be too much in some cases.
  2. Nah, I mean this was back in 1998, and I wasn't talking about him earning the push, it was him being credited with the rise of the WWE. That's what made me laugh. Also, it's kind of funny to think of how he "earned" his push in WCW, but that's totally irrelevant and I agree I'm a fan of Black Gold, but I haven't watched a full episode literally since like friggen last year. I might catch a glimpse of something that interests me, but that's about it.
  3. I was taking a shit today (no really, this is going somewhere), and before I went into the washroom I saw "Have a Nice Day" and thought "What the hell" and grabbed it. Something that made me laugh was when Mick felt that Vince had the ability to push stars if they had earned it, and used that to put his company on top. He felt three good examples of this were him, Austin, and that's right, Goldust. ...the hell? That was just funny on so many levels....
  4. Forget about the whole Page thing. We should not be judging this due to his status as a worker, since the whole reason for it was because Flair hates his connection with Bischoff. If you disagree, why don't you wait until the book comes out and argue than. DDP had some mainstream success, a starring role in a movie (albeit one about WCW, but no one else had the charisma that DDP had to carry the role). Leave the guy alone, he seems genuine about his love for the business, and does good things for the community. Some of you compared him to HHH. Well I can honestly say that HHH was never a great worker himself. One Four Star match does NOT equal one of the greatest years for a worker in the wrestling business. Like DDP however, HHH has a genuine love for the business. Or at least that's what I thought. I'm beginning to wonder if he wants to be like the Rock, yet since he doesn't have the luck that the Rock has that he just clings to wrestling due to the fact that it's all he has. I guess time will tell. Flair might have been a great worker, but from almost all accounts he's a bastard backstage. Most people seemed to blame Hogan for all of the crap that happened to WCW in 1994, but after reading first-hand accounts of what happened to Foley and the like, one has to realise that Flair and Bischoff were the real ones behind it. Of course we won't know, which is why I generally don't like to discuss anything but what goes on in the ring. With that being said, Flair is easily the most OVERrated wrestler of all time. With *that* being said, overrated is the most OVERrated term of all time. Dayume.
  5. Bradshaw, Triple H, is that you?
  6. I've never heard of either Juanita or Vince. Can someone link a good website explaining some of that to me?
  7. ^^^^Agreed WITH TREBLE CHARGED. I think all Canadians can agree with you on that one. FUCK that shit. Arona WILL win the GP. I guarantee it. You will all cry and bawl because you can't appreciate the New Jersey Devils of MMA. You won't appreciate how you witnessed three classics from one man, who was out there to win the most prestigious title in the sport. You will appreciate one day. One day bitchez. He doesnt finish matches, but than he does, by DECISION. He goes the distance to grace us with his magic for a full twenty minutes. You're COMPLAINING about that? Hang your head in shame.... *Hang* it!
  8. The constant Arona hate. I just don't get it. Show some hespect for the eventual MW GP winner, aiiiite bitchez?

  10. I don't really want to get into an arguement about this, because if you feel it then thats all that matters, but Dream theater is some of the most pretentious shit I've ever heard. You can play your instrument well? Good for you! Now go and learn how to play it right. You know, with like feeling and stuff. It's like people such as Dio or Bert Jansch(sp?). Good technicaly, but they can't write a fucking tune to save their life! Having said that, "Home"(?) is a pretty good song. At least before they go all fucking prog rock with it. I got into that argument with the board like a month ago, but in truth I was arguing for the sake of arguing. They are pretty much my favourite band, I just tried to make a point that I feel still stands. Ah well. James has a pretty awesome voice, great range and all. It's just that it's very traditional and sounds as if he *Gasp* ACTUALLY TOOK VOCAL LESSONS! The band as a whole seem pretty traditionalist, I mean, they all have an insane amount of talent that one can recognize easily. It's like someone went and picked the best musicians out of Souldrums and NCM and put them in a band that they play great together in. The more that I think about it, the more I realise that most of the teachers in my music school are way more talented than any of the crap I hear on the radio these days, like Nickelback, staind, etc. But I digress. Listen to James' rendition of O' Holy Night for proof of his awesomeness. I got into a lot of Indie goodness through this site thanks to guys like Inc. and Kinetic, but they're gone, so I don't get much out of it anymore. I don't predominantly listen to metal, so I don't try to look for whatever I can. I just listen to the usual suspects, like Slayer and In Flames.
  11. Piper uses his celebrity status to try and further what he feels is wrong with the business. I think he's going for an "ends justify the means" type thing, but he's not going to get the end that he's looking for. Vince loves to talk about how his promotion is the best, and the only one that ever mattered. He loves to point out how he is the one responsible for the boom of wrestling. We all know that and please don't tell me he doesn't. He simply doesn't say it bluntly, so that he can get away with saying, "we're not the only promotion. We weren't the biggest promotion(obvious lie). We're the only one left now, but that doesn't mean that we were the only ones back than." Interesting....
  12. Well it's Wednesday. Has White made a statement regarding any of this?
  13. I always hear about how people hate thetruth kids, but it's not like they're taking the cigarettes out of your mouth. I tend to roll my eyes alot around extreme left wing conspiracy theorists and extreme right wing apologists.
  14. They seemingly changed history, but its possible they weren't soon enough. True, true. I'd like to change my vote to "Second-Run Theater." Not only is there a second-run theater up the street from me, but I also know the people that work there (all but three of 'em, actually), so I can both get in cheaper than usual (tickets are usually $6 at night, $4 matinee) and without ID (because they all know I'm 17). You want a cookie or something? I was going to see it anyways, because I thought it'd be laughably bad, but with all the positive reviews, I'm thinking it might at least provide some good action scenes. For the most part I still think that it will be mind-numbingly bad however...
  15. Whoever dissed BIGGER BADDER BETTER WWF WReSTELMEANIAZ for the Nes should be shot. It wasn't as good as SUPER Wrestlemania, which was superb, but it still ruled it old school. The fact that Girls in Cars played when you wrestled BEFORE STRIKE FORCE EVEN EXISTED MY GOD should leave it off of this list.
  16. Nah, I'm not that big a fan of fighting games in the first place(Non-MMA ones, and there isn't a good one at that), and I'm not gonna be in town at the time, gone for a vacation. Regardless, if anyone who isn't familiar with the place has questions about the area, just PM me or something. Don't mind helping out.
  17. *BUMP* For RRR who talked about using DirectConnect, how do I find a specific server that hosts the goodness? EDIT: How weird that the first server I clicked on is letting me d/l a Giant Baba vs. The Destroyer match from 1969. At 212 MB, I'm assuming it's a *tad* on the long side as well. Since most MMA fans are Pro Wrestling fans, you ever hear anything about this one?
  18. HEY! Pacific Mall is about a block from where I live no lie. It's a well known unwritten rule that if you want to get the best service possible you bring a friend that can speak Chinese. They don't have to be Chinese, but they gotta speak it. Gives you the best prices, and no I'm not a racist or stereotyping against the Chinese, just this mall in particular. Come over here and check for yourself. If anyone needs to know anything about the place just send me a PM and I'll helpfully answer any questions that you might have. A copy of Giant Gram 2000 would hold me over to be sure.
  19. Also, I love how Elijah Wood is a lead actor while Tom hanks is a supporting guy...

  21. I'm sure being big couldn't hurt....
  22. I knew it had something to do with a penis. Yet I stayed to watch anyway. Hmmm.
  23. Just to point out, Yoshida dropping weight should NOT be a factor, as the gold medallist is used to dropping about 20-25 lbs for various Judo events, and only needs to drop about 15 here. I personally think Silva will take the whole thing, just because he doesn't seem like he can be beat right now. It would be cool for Liddell to win though, just to help him bounce back. That loss to Couture *was* a big deal, since it was made to be that he would've manhandled Tito, only to get beaten by a guy whom everyone thought was past his prime. A win would also give the UFC some credibility, as their fighters in general seem to be a notch below the guys in Pride. Of course, just to piss you all off, I'm hoping for my main man to win this one, and teach you all about "hespect"*points to sig*
  24. ^^^^Being an outright racist is only funny if you're subtle and clever about it. But than, it's not so outright now is it? Walk off a cliff please. DrTom, if I were a big white guy, I would be able to rebound too. I mean go to Indiana for chrissakes, white boys got madd skills. As for me, playing basketball or hockey would mean that I'm not being myself by the standards set in this thread anyways. But I learned recently that in polls brown people are grouped with black people. Big ups! Ummm, I don't like those black leaders either.
  25. Not to mention the Flaming Lips are going to be there. Never thought I'd see the Rolling Stones and Justin Timberlake performing at the same show, but here we are...
