Really happy (obviously) to see Detroit go through. Drawing Colorado in the second round would be the ideal match up but I have this sick feeling that the Sharks will choke and the Wings will get Calgary. -

I've always followed UFC casually (occasional PPV's at bars, reading results) but this is the first PPV I ordered myself and I enjoyed it quite a bit. GSP winning was great and having his victory party at La Cage aux Sports is even better. -

Nashville winning would have been an absolute travesty so thank you Johan Franzen for making sure the better team (at least tonight) won. Hopefully the Wings get another solid effort and close it out Sunday. -

Speaking of trouble, Washington is now in quite a heap of it. Huet was amazing in a losing effort. -

Osgood's starting game five. Not a huge surprise but it's definitely the right move. -

Howard looked pretty solid in the brief time he was playing earlier this year so having him play more next year wouldn't be bad at all. Even if he falters a bit they can fall back on Osgood, who could provide guidance to Howard as well. Then there's that Ryan Miller rumor that always pops up but I don't see that happening. -

As much as I want to believe in Dom, Osgood is just much more solid and calm at this point. I don't cringe when long shots go in on him like I do with Dom. For some reason I didn't feel this nervous after this point last year but like I said game five is a must win and obviously closing it out in six would be ideal. The effort in the third tonight needs to be carried over on Friday. -

What pisses me off the most is that the effort only got turned on after they were down two. Their defense has also been shockingly poor which is costing them dearly. I also wonder how it would have tuned out if Osgood was in the entire way. Anyway, if they lose Friday this series is over. -

Detroit's going to be golfing by Monday. Play like the number one team you supposedly are for Christ sakes. At least Osgood has looked pretty good so far and it'd be lunacy if they went back to Hasek if Osgood keeps this up. -

I know there's plenty of time but what the fuck is going on with Detroit and these quick goals against? -

About GODDAMN time Joe Thornton did something to help his team win. Really, it would have been ridiculous if Calgary won with 10 fucking shots on net. Ryane Clowe is quietly racking up some nice numbers for them and hopefully this is the momentum they need to bury this series. -

I agree with most everything you said but to see Dom give up goals like that after having a pretty good game is extremely disheartening. This is similar to how the first round went last year but for some reason I am not as confidant this time around. -

I talked so much shit about San Jose but who am I to do so after tonight. Three fucking minutes away from a stranglehold and they piss it away. It's sickening that I can't have any kind of confidence in this team. -

The Sharks are a fucking joke. Absolutely pathetic. I just cannot understand how teams blow leads like that. -

Wow, I've haven't seen Calgary look this bad in a while. As a Flames hater I obviously love it and Joseph being in is classic. -

Good win for Detroit today. Hasek was excellent and if they get that kind of effort consistently they'll be tough to beat. My favorite moment though involved Greg Zanon. He was miked up and when Nashville scored the tying goal, he went over to shit talk Hasek, calling him an old fuck (or something close to that). Not even three minutes later karma gets him as Draper scores the game winner off of his skate. -

From what I had heard on Fox Sports Radio, Nabokov was as well for San Jose. Nabokov robbed 2 or 3 sure fire goals away from the Flames. That save on Nolan was ridiculous. Equally ridiculous was San Jose only getting one goal from six straight powerplays (with back to back 5 on 3's). Calgary is fortunate to have Kiprusoff at his best right now but Nabokov has been just as good. -

Good to see Detroit get that first win. I thought the Tootoo goal was going to swing the momentum but Zetterberg and Datsyuk made sure that it didn't. -

I'm going to be pissed if they only show the first two/NBC games of the Wings series here. I have Center Ice but so far I haven't been able to find out if they'll be showing it. I can not understand why every series doesn't get complete TV coverage, especially here. -
I was hesitant to start this just in case we started a seperate playoff thread but I figured we could put the final few days/first round playoff discussion in here. Anyway, stay classy Flames fans.

Nashville could be a tough series but I do believe the Wings can win if Hasek is solid and they have the secondary scoring working for them. Health is also a major issue but hopefully they get no trouble in that department. -
Nice little comeback for the Wings tonight and that will clinch the President's Trophy.
