Not being content with last week, this week DX squashes the entire RAW tag division AT THE SAME TIME! Feel the excitement!

I resigned myself to the Astros not making the playoffs about 4 to 6 weeks ago. This past week and a half were just the typical Houston sports teams' "glimmer of hope before getting squashed". I'm just referring to naiwf's inability to provide anything besides a seemingly Pavlovian response whenever anyone says either "Roger Clemens" or "Houston Astros". Wow, someone left the beloved Yankees. Shit happens, the world keeps on spinning. I'm not still bitching about Wagner trashing the Astros while still on the team before they shipped his dumb ass out of town. "Boo hoo, he said he was going to retire!" Yeah, no one in sports ever rethinks retirement because they can't give up the spotlight. I guess I'll just come in every day or so, post "I hate the New York Yankees, and [insert random player name here] is an asshole!" Then I'll fit in more.

Ditto. I was expecting SOMEONE main-character-wise to die (was hoping for Lana to finally take a fucking hike) but no dice. Lana? DIE? Oh man that's funny! What would the show revolve around if they killed her off? That Kent kid? Surely you're joking. It's not called Lanaville for nothing ya know.

I guess I've just got a strange taste in animes. I just finished Those Who Hunt Elves. Hilarious. The English dub has some very good voice work, and the original Japanese work is apparently excellent as well. Very cartoonish artwork, but all in all a fun, albeit very offbeat, anime. Catch it if you don't feel like thinking too much about what you're watching. Trying to find Excel Saga, but all I can find is an undubbed Japanese version. I'll keep looking.

The thing with the Astros organization is that they NEVER fast track prospects. It seems like everyone, no matter how solid a prospect he might be, spends at LEAST 5 years in the minors. So, you end up with guys who are 27 and 28 before the make it to The Show (see Scott, Luke). Pence might be the quickest ascent I've seen since maybe Berkman. I'll have to see how man years Berkman spent in the minors.

Yeah...that nevergets old. Neither does "Asstros" or "Lastros". Is there no originality anymore? Do the Astros have any talented young offensive prospects in their system? It is funny to think that Robinson Cano since August 8th when he came back from his injury has almost more Rbi's than the second place person on the Astros has all season. Charlton Jimerson (who's on the roster now) is a speedy outfielder with some pop. The best prospect is Hunter Pence, another outfielder. Drives the ball well, hits for average and has some power but is considered more of a doubles hitter. Maybe JR House, a 1B/C. Not quite sure where he'd pan out in the majors though.
