  1. Well there's shock tv for you.
  2. Hahahhahahahha!! Oh my god, this deserves it's own post. If this was true, RVD would have been a world champion in 01. No questions asked.
  3. Who's talking about early 90s? We're saying 98-00. Vince didn't win ratings with shock TV. Vince won ratings with Austin/McMahon and by building up intriging characters and making people care about simple storylines. Shock TV is what Russo used on WCW near it's death. He thought like you and decided people only wanted to be surprised. Well here's a surprise for you. Come to find out, no one really gave a shit! 2000 in WWE had relatively little shock TV in comparison to 99 and whatever garbage Russo was doing at the time and it was the best year for the company.
  4. Wasn't one of your arguments about how times have changed? Well, times have changed from the times of the Monday Night Wars. What worked THEN isn't working NOW. Hence why whatever they try now is NOT helping them boost their status anymore. A new direction is needed. I'm not saying that the direction suggested by everyone here is the RIGHT one, but it COULD be. The thing is the willingness to give new things a try. That's how the New Generation came to be. That's how the Attitude Era came to be. And that's how another new era will come to be. yes, something NEW. what you guys want is old school. no one else wants that. Yes, actually, people do want that. That's why ratings are down.
  5. He didn't lose faith in Benoit. Benoit went on to beat Jericho at SS, face Angle at WM, and there was one awesome time in the summer of 2001 where he was the number 1 face in the company. He looked like he was on the verge of getting the world title from Austin. He was so over that you knew if it didn't happen in one month, it was definitely about to happen soon. The problem? He got injured and the brain donors in charge of the WWE brought him back as a heel. He has in ring charisma, that's what made people cheer him. It's too bad we have no way of knowing if he would have been a draw or not because they wouldn't take a chance on him. Worse, it's almost like they purposely brought him down because they weren't ready for the response he got. Whatever you think about Benoit, it doesn't matter if you think he's world title material or not, doing absolutely nothing with him after the Royal Rumble is just simply moronic, period.
  6. And they're certainly doing a good job of that. Because you know ratings are so much better than they were in 98-00. one reason ratings were so great then is the talent. with austin and rock being used properly, they had some of the best entertainers of the century on the same show. there is no possible way that cant draw. What the hell are you talking about? In 1998, the only big names they had were Austin and Undertaker. They built the Rock, HHH, and Mankind up from nothing. Something they can't seem to do with Rob Van Dam, Jericho, or Benoit despite every opportunity they've been given to do it. There's no excuse when a guy like Benoit gets a standing ovation at the main event of a PPV and then instead of using that to make him into something like they would have in 98, he's suddenly lumped into a tag team, losing matches every week, getting no mic time, and missing PPVs. They have no talent now because they insist on using the same wrestlers at the top and that's really all there is to it. Thank your soap opera writers.
  7. And they're certainly doing a good job of that. Because you know ratings are so much better than they were in 98-00.
  8. Seriously, are you Vince Russo?
  9. well your entitled to your opinion. the only thing you probably do care about is 4* + matches and if thats the case im not surprised. puro in america is dead. Yet the crap you are promoting doesn't draw ratings worth shit. Yeah that makes sense. And what's that? Puro in America? There never has been Puro in America. What you just said makes no sense. how would you know what draws ratings? you seem to like storys that well, you would like. there are millions of viewers, and they dont represent the smark subculture. What!? I know this crap doesn't draw ratings! Because it's not! So actually I would know more about what draws ratings than you since you're trying to actually write this shit and get it on air. And it doesn't draw ratings now...so why would it when you're writing the same damn thing? Oh that's right...it wouldn't. and what makes you so sure that if vince abandoned his current direction and changed to something more suited to you that the ratings would rise? Because the current direction made it fall?
  10. Anyway, with Calc, as long as you can understand that the derivitive (slope on a graph) of x^(a number) becomes (the number)x^(number - 1), example: x^3 = 3x^2. the derivitive of 14x = 14. derivitive of x = 1. Any number by itself = 0. and the anti derivitive of x^(a number) is x^(number + 1) divided by (number + 1), example: x^3 = (x^4)/4. you've pretty much got the whole course. Later you'll get into intergrals where you have to subtract the anti-derivitive of two numbers. And sometimes you'll have to multiply derivitives. To do that, you take the derivitive of the left number and multiply it to the right and add the derivitive of the right number multipled to the left. To do limits, you usually just have to take the derivitive of the top and of the bottom. Either that or divide everything by the biggest X in the bottom. But most of it comes down to algebra.
  11. Alright, well then you didn't do bad on the ACT only because you're bad at math. Your school was just shit. How did you do in Algebra and Trig when you took it in college? Like I was saying, I don't think Calc is that horrible. The first time I took College Alegbra, I failed it and took it again and passed it with a C. Then I took trig and barely passed it with a D. Two years later (after I forgot everything about math) I took Calc 1 and passed it with a C. Now I have an A in Calc 2. Go me. But maybe I'm just getting better at it. (shrugs) What I do is try to make index cards of all the problems the prof works in class. It's calc so that only comes to around 4 or 5 a day. When the time comes to study for the test, you just sit down and try to do the problems. If you don't remember, you just flip the card over and see what he did for it.
  12. What maths did you take in high school? I made a 18 on the math part of the ACT but the highest my school went up to was Algebra 2. There was a lot of trig and calc questions on it. And I really don't think Calc is as hard as everybody makes it out to be. Trig was tougher.
  13. Dude, Jericho is gonna bang her, and then drop her! How could you not see the genius in a storyline like that?
  14. Haha, this line is way funnier than the BS meter.
  15. See, I don't know why they do stuff like that. It never turns out good. Like the time HHH came down to the ring and everybody thought he was gonna help Rock. The crowd was deafening. They had WANTED to cheer for HHH. But then he turned, and they ruined it all. It didn't make him a stronger heel like they thought it would, it just didn't do a whole lot of anything. Because they wanted to root for HHH and WWE didn't let them. What good does pissing fans off ever do? It didn't help ratings, that's for sure. As for Montreal, it didn't only drain the energy outta that one segment. Before that, the crowd was hot. After it, everything was quiet. It killed the whole entire night. When Jericho came out later, he didn't get cheered or booed. He got no reaction at all. So I don't think that's a good way to go.
  16. I'm saying that everyone really hates Steiner now and it'll turn Jericho unless they do something with him to make him really evil and heelish. Which would only make them both get apathy from the crowds. Think about the time Jericho turned on Montreal after Shawn just ripped on them for about 10 minutes straight. You could just feel the energy draining out of that place.
  17. Your explanation was something like "I think it would work because they're fun to watch" And the answer is no, because of course the crowds need someone to cheer for and get behind. Or else it'll put them to sleep. They would cheer for Jericho, but that would turn him face and that would be horrible. Jericho sucks as a face, seriously.
  18. But it would matter. People won't watch when guys they hate are the only ones on the TV screen. That can't work and won't ever work. What would happen is the fans would probably turn Jericho face. Yet then it's not heel/heel anymore.
  19. Damn, I thought I was the only one. They looked and worked pretty good together. Steiner is the big power house and Jericho is the work horse. We need more teams like this. No one has really been able to get it right since Bret and Anvil, IMO. Yeah, exactly. At least you know with Steiner and Jericho, it won't be the pussy team that Christian and Jericho was. Steiner will dominate people and they'll let Jericho carry his own weight and keep up with him using his speed.
  20. We would, but we're not typical fans. I mean, there's a reason you never see it happen, it's because usually people just want to see the heel get his ass beat by the face and that's it. They need to have someone they can root for. If two heels are fighting they won't care about who's winning or what's going on. They'll probably just switch the channel.
  21. Yep, cause people just love those!
  22. That was when Chris was feuding with like 5 different people at the same time. I'd rather see them as a team anyway than Steiner just plow through Jericho again. And you know he would. Because he's bigger. They won't even let RVD get a win on him. Jericho and Steiner actually make a pretty good heel team though.
  23. Goldberg has admitted in interviews that he has apologized to Bret. When was that? I know he finally admitted he was responsible for what happened and he said "It's not ballet", but I don't remember him apologizing. Here's Bret on Goldberg. “Would love to kick him in the head the same way he kicked me” "Goldberg definitely ended my career." - shoot tape "Unfortunately his skill was nil and six months later he ended my career with a mule kick to the side of my skull that nearly ripped my head off and sent my brain rocking like jello. " - last month's calgary sun Remember Goldberg gave him three concussions in one night, not just one.
  24. Something like that. I always thought it was funny how everybody makes fun of Shawn for that line, but Bret did the same thing. Notice he didn't come back until right when Shawn lost the title.
