Yeah, that is why IMO it gets more coverage than it deserves. Since it appears that all sports reporters do in their spare time is play golf, they really like to talk about it when most of America doesn't give a crap about golf unless it involves Tiger Woods.

Updating the Friday number for "The Dark Knight" It made $67.85 million instead of the reported 66.4

There was another child that Mrs. Gordon was holding on in that scene. I was wondering why they focused so much on Gordon's son when we all know that his daughter is the one that is effected by who Batman is and becomes Batgirl. If they actually had Barbara and not her brother being the "person that Gordon loves most in the world" and being held by a crazed Harvey and then realizing why her father had to chase Batman and her getting it what Batman is what Gotham needed, it would have been more poignant and set up future Batgirl. I think the girl was a big tease, Nolan was asked about the girl by MTV and with a big smile on his face he refused to give any info on what her name is or who she might be/become. I thought they were doing the same thing with Detective Ramirez. I thought it was Montoya until they revealed her name at the end. In the new Gotham Knight movie she is even partnered with Crispus Allen so I assume they didn't want to tarnish Montoya so Nolan gave the character in the film a different name.

According to the AP and Variety "The Dark Knight" broke the record for best opening day with $66.4 million on Friday. I saw the movie and loved it. Heath Ledger was beyond awesome and now joins Christopher Reeve as Superman as the second iconic performance of a comic book character. I do agree with some that the ending did leave an empty feeling, but I think that for me personally it had alot to do with how the final scene between Batman and Joker played out and realizing that Heath isn't around anymore to play the Joker again if they wanted to bring the Joker back. Seriously I was more bummed than excited after the film ended.

Clippers sign Kelenna Azubuike of the Golden State Warriors to an offer sheet.
-
I think that the Clippers didn't want to waste all their salary cap to sign Smith or Okafor ( since that would have probably been the only way they could get them) because they really aren't worth it. Plus the Clippers only have like 8 or 9 players under contract and need money to sign other players. Also with Thomas, Mobley and Camby coming off the books in 2010 the Clippers will have a shot to go after the big guns during that summer.

So the Clippers basically traded Brand and Maggette for Baron Davis and Marcus Camby. I would have done that deal in a second.
-
According to Sports Illustrated The Knicks turned down a trade with the Clippers for Zach Randolph

Mega Man 9 trailer http://wii.ign.com/dor/objects/14260822/me...9multidebu.html Fucking Awesome, Watching it made me feel like a kid again.

Josh Smith is in L.A. and will meet with the Clippers later in the day. I'm pretty sure that Josh Smith will sign an offer sheet from the Clippers by the end of the day.
-
L.A. Times is also reporting that Maggette has signed with the Golden State Warriors for deal worth around 50 million
-
The L.A. Times just reported that the deal is done
-
Oh well, unless something happens overnight it looks like Brand is going to the 76ers
-
Actually the Clippers won't be able to sign and trade Maggette because they would have to renounce their rights to him to sign Baron Davis. Maggette now can only sign with most teams for the mid-level, only the Warriors, Grizzlies and Sixers could pay him more.
-
Marc Stein reports that Baron Davis has verbally agreed to a 5 year $65 Million dollar deal with the Clippers

Raw Rating was a 3.5 Better than it had been doing recently

Congrats to Spain, well deserved European Champions. They were truly the best team in the tournament and my pre-tournament pick

THE AP on the performance by Heath Ledger as the Joker http://www.newsarama.com/film/ap-080627-da...ght-review.html

Well the Clippers also needed a shooting guard. The biggest problem the Clippers have had in the last few years is the lack of an outisde shooter and Gordon fits the bill.

Thank God Spain won What a disgraceful display of soccer by the Italians, didn't even try to attack.
-
At this point you will have to to stop Turkey
-
Hope the Dutch don't regret not tanking against Romania. Should be a great quarterfinal round

Yeah few things in sports make me as happy as watching Italy or Argentina get their ass kicked in soccer
