  1. Broxton is up for the Dodgers Cubs last hope
  2. The problem Heroes has on Monday is that it is up against two shows that are must see live, Dancing with the Stars and Monday Night Football. Heroes does really really well on DVR viewings and the 18-34 demo is in the top 10 so it makes NBC money. So no need to worry about it being cancelled.
  3. The word in the Hillary/Palin skit is "Flerg" Which according to the urban dictionary means "penis that is not erect" Took me awhile to find it
  4. At my TV Programming class, we saw the first episode of "Worst Week" and it was hilarious. It premieres on Monday after Two and a Half Men. While the episode was really good I don't think the series will have legs because if all episodes are going to similar to the premiere then the show might get old pretty fast.

  6. Man City sign Robinho I like Robinho and didn't want him to go to Chelsea Man U appear to be getting Berbatov
  7. Here is a clip of Sarah Palin working as a a sports anchor in Anchorage (1988) http://www.breitbart.tv/?p=164463&comments=1

  9. Don't know much about Sarah Palin, except that she might have the most photogenic family in all of politics
  10. Using Tom Welling and Michael Rosenbaum would have worked if "Smallville" would have lasted one or two seasons which built to a movie. Now the show has been on for too long and using the cast would make the film come off as an overly expensive TV movie. I think people are taking the "dark" thing the wrong way and doesn't imply that Superman will be grim n' gritty. Here is the last paragraph from the original article Many of the studio's directors credit Mr. Robinov for taking Warner Bros.' films in a darker and deeper direction. Christopher Nolan, who directed "Batman Begins" and "The Dark Knight," says Mr. Robinov "really encouraged the logic of the villain" from "Batman Begins." That led to focusing heavily on the Joker in the sequel. "At the script stage, Jeff really wanted us to be very clear on the Joker's lack of purpose," he says. So I assume that by dark he means he wants the story and the villains to be complex and intimidating. They need to use the dickish Lex billionaire/scientist and have Lex or Luthor Corp. be directly/indirectly responsible for the creation of such villains as Bizarro/Parasite/Metallo. (Just like the Animated Series)
  11. The women's soccer match between USA-Brazil was epic. USA wins 1-0 in Extra time to win the gold. Who would have ever thought that watching the Brazilian women's team would be more exciting than watching the men.
  12. Where was this class and who were the professors, because I think you and I may have had the same class. Go to Cal State Fullerton?
  13. Thank God for the "American TV" class I took in the spring semester because the professors showed the first episode and I instantly had to watch the rest of the season. I may have never watched the show if I hadn't seen it there. Awesome show. My brothers and why I watch all the episodes in a couple of days and where totally bummed out after the last episode knowing that was it for the show. The show had me at Lindsay. I kept wondering why I couldn't keep my eyes off her when watching the first episode until I looked up who the actress was and realized that she was the same girl who appeared in my favorite "Boy Meets World" episode "Heartbreak Corey", she was the sole reason why it was my favorite episode. Sam and Mr. Rosso were my two favorite characters on the show.
  14. W needed to man up there. Misty May wanted him to slap her BUTT but he decided only to brush her back.
  15. Fucking Crap The US soccer team was 30 seconds from qualifying to the quarters when a stupid foul led to a free kick and the Dutch tied the game. Now the US will probably need a tie to advance without Freddy Adu
  16. Clippers sign Brian Skinner For those that haven't seen it here is a "Step-Brothers" spoof by Baron Davis and Steve Nash. Nash brings the dance skills. http://www.ibeatyou.com/competition/0775d8...in-santa-monica
  17. A live action Wonder Woman movie might have been put on hold But the Animated DVD coming out next year looks pretty kick ass http://enewsi.com/news.php?catid=194&itemid=13678
  18. Clippers sign Ricky Davis Not sure what to think, but at least he won't be scoring 30 on the Clippers like he use to do on a regular basis. He played like Jordan when ever he played the Clippers for some reason.
  19. RottenTomatoes.com has Batman Begins with a Top Critics rating of 62% RottenTomatoes.com has Superman Returns with a Top Critics rating of 73% And so what about the budget. About the same amount of people in North America saw the two movies (more WW for SR). All I'm arguing is that the Superman series doesn't need a reboot. That doesn't make any sense when you look at the facts. PS I like Batman Begins way more than Superman Returns I agree Superman doesn't need a reboot, someone just needs to make a good movie about him. Everyone in the world knows Superman's origin so that doesn't need to be retold. By the way " Superman: Birthright" is another Superman story that doesn't exist in my mind.
  20. Superman and Catwoman are my two favorite comic book characters. So you can imagine how much I hate Time Warner owning DC Comics.
  21. Yes if I were forced to watch any of those three movies, I would rather watch Superman III and IV than Superman Returns. Its is not about a movie being good or bad it's about how disappointed I was in "Superman Returns". Using the backstory of the first two Superman movies was a horrible idea specifically because they wouldn't be able to use the businessman Lex.
  22. My favorite superhero is Superman and after watching "Superman Returns" I vowed that I would never watch that movie again. It doesn't exist in my mind. Routh was good as Clark but he didn't inspire as Superman. He looked like Reeve but was not built like him. For Superman you need a larger than life person. I would seriously cast Dwayne Johnson as Superman if I were making a Superman movie. Bosworth as Lois was not a good choice. However the thing that bugged the shit of me was the portrayal of Lex Luthor. He needed to be the Lex from "Smallville", from the animated series, and from the "52" comic book series. The evil business man that is basically the smartest, heartless, richest, most powerful person in the world.
  23. Saw it saw it a second time today and loved it even more. I thought this was interesting Here is what Grant Morrison had to say about the film: I really don’t think I’m sticking my neck out too far if I hail ‘The Dark Knight’ as not only the best Batman movie so far and one of the best Batman stories ever told, but as the quintessential superhero story itself, laid bare, lasered down to its skeleton and reconstructed to suit the needs of our times with panache, wit and a monstrous sad darkness. It may even be the best popular meditation on a peculiarly postmodern version of Gnostic dualism that we’ve been given for a bracingly long time. So comics scholars will understand me when I compare ‘The Dark Knight’ to WATCHMEN as a measure of its likely impact on the ’genre’ that spawned it. Like WATCHMEN, it forces all previous and future offerings of its kind into a higher-level dialogue and it will be intriguing to see what comes next. This looks set to redefine the limits of what a ‘superhero movie’ is capable of. It shares with WATCHMEN a devious intricacy of structure, a hyper-machine-like sense of super-organized ideas whizzing around in perfect formation like the Red Arrows. As the whole immense engine clicks into place, and suddenly you understand WHY the title, the moment is accompanied by that peculiar sense of completion and accomplishment that, to me, is one hallmark of creative brilliance in the popular arts. Christian Bale, best Batman ever, adds all kinds of new shadings to an already iconic take. His Batman is required to transform from man to myth as we watch and he never lets us down, capturing every nuance of Bruce Wayne’s loss, his determination and his own personal madness. As advance reviews may have led an unsuspecting world to believe Heath Ledger does indeed dynamite the screen, dance through it and have murderous sex with your dad’s Chihuahua, in that way he would if I were a writer for a ’cult media’ magazine, drowning in the sound of my own ghastly hyperbole. In his first appearance as the Joker, the IMAX wall seems to vibrate with Ledger’s presence and intent. He owns the room, as they say, and though you’ll weep bitter tears that he’s gone, you’ll surely stand in awe of this tour de force of sheer ******* act-yer-tits-off-son bravado. It’s the Joker incarnate. Michael Caine does the definitive Alfred. Gary Oldman brings the movie’s beating human soul to a rumpled Jim Gordon. Maggie Gyllenhaal nails her role and adds the frazzled edge to Rachel Dawes that Katie Holmes left out. Morgan Freeman wears gravitas like a hat. It’s almost ridiculous how well every single moving part in this movie acquits itself to scrutiny. Oh, and Aaron Eckhart as Harvey Dent will break your heart. I’m quite hard to please, and a movie has to be really good to get me jumping but this Dark Knight honked my horn from here to hell and back and I feel a need to spread the love like margarine over these, me own internet pages. It’s a work of art to look at, and as Nolan’s clear attempt to craft his own perfect all-time best Batman story EVER, the ultimate Batman story, it never veers off course. I can’t wait to see it again. This time at the Xscape in Braehead with the neds. Like I said, it doesn’t take much predicting power to know this is going to be a big, paradigm-shifting and immensely popular movie. I went mental for this film. I still can’t stop thinking about it and how instantly it avoids the type of formulaic ’comic book movie’ clichés you may have begun to notice in other films, or how brilliantly Nolan and his team have taken Batman off the page, reprocessed everything that makes him work, and rebuilt him as the ultimate American hero for the new post-post-9/11 zeitgeist. I loved IRON MAN: Robert Downey Jr. has been and probably will be my favourite actor for a long time…but IRON MAN, THE INCREDIBLE HULK, SUPERMAN RETURNS and all the others feel a little like Saturday morning cartoons next to the carbon black glory that is ‘The Dark Knight‘. Trust me, this is the future of this sort of thing. I happened to be sitting next to the Family Beckham during the screening and overheard young Brooklyn Beck’s excited yelp when Bruce Wayne drives through Gotham in his new 200 grand Lamborghini Murcielago LP640. ‘Dad! Dad! He’s got your car!’ You never get that down the Xscape. I got a chance to talk to Christopher Nolan for quite a bit after the showing and when I say talk, I mean gush enthusiastically and incoherently about how impressed I was. There’s something immensely satisfying about being able to convey your excitement and respect directly to someone whose work has impressed and inspired you. ------------------------------------------ As Great as "The Dark Knight" was I still have to say that "Superman:The Movie" is my favorite superhero movie. Mainly because Superman is my favorite hero and other than the fly to reverse time thing I thought the movie captured Superman perfectly.
