If ONS was to be held at Hammerstein again, it would make perfect sense to have Batista take on an original. After his eventual heel turn, Batista can bring up being booed mercilessly last time he was there despite being the babyface world champion. someone like Dreamer or Sandman would fit the bill -cheex

TNA Comments which don't warrant a thread

Alright, here's a few things i've been mulling over about TNA... -I just don't get Robert Roode. What's his gimmick? Is it that he's just kickass or something? And why did they build up his manager search for so long just to give him the generic WWE bimbo as a valet? -Who is Lance Hoyt? Why should I care? -Who are the two guys BG and Kip keep referring to? It sounds like thinly veiled jabs at HHH and HBK. Now, HHH i can understand but HBK was never in DX with the NAO and X-Pac always seemed to get pretty good reactions on his own (early on anyways). -Why are Joe and Angle feuding? And is it just me, or does Joe/Angle face-to-face just not seem as intense as Joe/Steiner? -Sting should face Abyss at Genesis, then Christian, then lose to Angle who loses to Joe. -I loved Sting's promo on last nights Impact. It made sense and came off as very sincere and not cheap and low like the whole McMahons vs. HBK/God shit earlier this year. love, Cheex

    My EWR fix

My most succesful EWR time lapse was when I started about Oct 97 and lasted to 2000. The screwjob didnt happen, but Bret's morale was pretty low when I began and he left by Dec. anyways. The funnest things I did were supplant Owen in The Rock's role for the 98 SurSer screwjob and turning Mankind into the most over heel in the company the summer of 99 (i think the closest thing I'll get to writing literature is the storyline I had penciled down involving Raven turning Foley). -cheex

    Most nonsensical debuts

In light of the funny "most nonsensical turns..." thread, I'll start one in a similar vein. What are the debuts that absolutely came of left field or just made no fuckin' sense? One that stands out to me is when British Bulldog debuted in WCW shortly after Bret arrived. If memory serves me correctly, Steve McMichael was out babbling about the difference between "men and boys" and all of the sudden Bulldog traipses out for no reason. Mongo's reaction made less sense; (paraphrased) "Well, well, well. Speaking of which, it's Davey BOY Smith!" Then Bulldog posed or something without really saying anything, and left. wtf? -Cheex

    The OAO Raw Thread 5/1/06

Where the fucking hell can this may 19th angle go? May 19th is a friday, as is standard for new movies to come out, so whatever Kane does on that day we wont see or hear about til that monday. We'll get a week of Kane freaking about may 19th coming up, then the next week he would have had plenty of time to chill out from it. -cheex

It seems WWE has changed Animal's name to simply Road Warrior. Not Road Warrior Animal, just Road Warrior. At least thats how things look on his superstar page. -Cheex

    OAO WrestleMania 22 thread - 4/2/06

My thoughts: HHH vs. Cena I'd love to see a double-turn, where if the crowd starts ripping Cena he just flips out and bludgeons HHH with a chair or something. All the while he can be screaming at the fans something along the lines of "boo me now." That said, Trips will win and destroy the spinner belt Money in the Bank This is the only thing I'm relatively excited about. Not for the unpredictablity of the winner (RVD), but the potential spots that the participants are capable of. Far and away will be the best of the night. Orton vs. Angle vs. Mysterio Rey has to win. Has to. There is no way around it. With the HOF honoring Eddie there is no point to have him not win, especially considering that he is still pretty over despite what the bookers have thrown at him. HBK vs. McMahon Stupid fued that will have an overbooked climax involving run-ins with everybody from Jannetty, Hogan, Shane, Stephanie, Koko B. Ware, Duke Droese, Kenzo, Sylvan, Nash, Chyna, Jim Niedhart, Dan Severn and Earl Hebner. That said there is no way in hell Bret will show up. Edge vs. Foley Another stupid fued that will have a slightly less overbooked match. There will be blood and both will take a big bump and that's all anybody with any sense can anticipate. Taker vs. Henry No, Taker, you can't have a workrate match at WrestleMania. But you can have another win. Benoit vs. JBL Has alot of potential to be a nice old school-type match. Both have a very good sense of psychology. While MiTB will steal the show with spectacle, I hope this can be the actual MOTN. Booker/Sharmell vs. Boogeyman I don't understand why Booker and Sharmell were so upset over the handicap match stipulation. Why can't Booker just not tag her in, and if it's under texas tornado rules, can't Sharmell just stay on the apron and out of harm's way? Oh well, Boogeyman wins. Show/Kane vs. Carlito/Masters I like both Carlito and Masters. Not the best in the ring, but both have a decent amount of charisma that can facilitate nice chemistry between eachother during the match. I'm just upset that these are the guys the E is banking on being the draws of the future, what with their lame and outdated gimmicks. Trish vs. Mickie Best booked fued in a goddamn long time. I've never been interested in a women's match before and this is no different, but at least the girls play their part right. Mickie wins. in conclusion, its a terrible shame MNM have been left off the card. A quickie fued with London/Kendrick could've been developed as early as 3 weeks ago and end with an excellent match at Mania, but I digress. -Cheex

    Tom Waits

I've been on a Tom Waits kick lately, and I would consider it rude not to simply remind everyone the guy exists. Quite frankly, the guy is a musical genius. Anyone who saw him any of the times he was on Letterman probably has mixed feelings towards him, but i assure you he's brilliant. Rain Dogs and Swordfishtrombones are probably his best albums (with Real Gone and Frank's Wild Years close behind). Anyone else here share my love of Waits? Anyone? -Cheex

    Tom Waits

I just picked up Early Years Vol. 1 and 2. Great stuff and really cool versions of "Old' 55", "Ice Cream Man", "Please Call Me, Baby", and others. Definately pick it up, I can see this appealing to a more modern, folk fan too. -Cheex

OAO No Way Out Thread, Feb/19th/2006

I think its pretty obvious that Booker will win his match (maybe due to Finlay interference), then Orton will call in his favor and Book will help Randy beat Rey setting up Booker vs. Rey at WM. -Cheex

    Tom Waits

He didn't really "do" anything on Letterman, but I could see how some people may be turned off by him because he's so strange (that and his songs wouldn't be that accesible to a pop-orientated crowd). He's been on Letterman a few times, but the last time i saw was when Real Gone came out and he talked about genius horses and sang "Make it Rain" -Cheex

    Tom Waits

For all of you unfamiliar with his latest Real Gone, do yourself a huge favor. It's a complete departure from everything else he's done (which, I guess could describe almost every one of his albums). Glad to see the Small Change love around here, "Pasties and a G-String" rock socks. -Cheex
