    Reservoir Dogs

According to various sources (gamespot, IGN) some video game company who has a record for making games out of movies (Italian Job, etc.) just bought the rights to make the first Reservoir Dogs based video game for X-Box and PS2. Now i'm probably one of the bigger Tarantino fans out there, but this can go one of two ways. Its either going to suck tremendously and slightly tarnish the movie's image, or it will rule all and I will cream my pants at the thought of being Mr. Blonde while cutting Marvin Nash's ear off. But my bet leads to it sucking. They're going to have to embelish on the movie quite a bit because the film is mostly the characters arguing, you never even see the actual robbery. If they do add scenes to make it more playable, I hope Q-Tip himself lends a hand in writing at least some of it. Fingers crossed that it wont suck. Oh yeah, there's going to be a Kill Bill game too. -Cheex

    Gods and Generals

Me, well I loved the movie. But my opinion is a tad biased based on the facts that A) I cream my pants at the sight of Robert Duvall, and B) i've been genuinely interested in the Civil War for a few years. I own the Gettysburg DVD already (god, i hate flippers), and I will pick this up soon. The four hour movie is a trial to sit all the way through and watch, but overall I still thought it was a beautifully made film. Any thoughts (braces self for onslaught of smarks hating the plodding, war movie ) -Cheex

    Pirates Of The Carribean

Well, Pirates was a watchable and enjoyable movie to say the least, but I guess some of the plotholes keeps me from proclaiming it great. *SPOILERS!* *************************************************** Why didn't Will Turner just give the coin over with maybe a vile of blood? That way they could fight regular pirates instead of undead super pirates. Why do the undead pirates even bother swashbuckling with their good guy counterparts? Thy can't feel pain, right? If they dumped Will Turner's dad in the ocean after they were cursed, wouldn't that mean he just stayed at the bottom of the ocean not dead, because he was cursed too ***************************************************** Sorry if that sounded like nitpicking, but I do want it to be known that I did enjoy the movie, just it could have been tweaked a little. -Cheex

    Best Person...

Allow me to elaborate on some of the more speculative choices I made when making the list; Scott Hall: Why is it that Kevin Nash has held titles in both promotions, and has consistantly been fighting for the world title since 1995 when Hall has had very, very few world title fueds? Not to say that I was calling for a Razor Ramon vs. Bob Backlund match, but you have to admit for how popular he was at certain moments and how Vince had an devoted hard on for him for a short time, the man has been pretty jilted when it comes to world title matches. Dynamite Kid: Yes he was mainly a tag wrestler, yes he was always on the lower end of the card, but who in their right mind wouldn't have loved to see the original tactition in the ring fighting for the premier belt? Rob Van Dam: At the height of its popularity RVD WAS ECW. There is no denying that. He put on great match after great match with Jerry Lynn, Rhyno, Justin Credible, Sabu, and Tommy Dreamer. He was primed for his first world title program with Mike Awesome before he tore up his leg. In WWF/E he was immediately taken by the fans as one of their own. I've never seen a crowd accept a new face that quickly, but Vince did nothing to capitilize on it. He had that one main event at No Mercy and his debacle of a fued with HHH. The man at least deserved an ECW world belt. Brian Pillman: Had he no died so early in life (RIP), he would have risen along with Steve Austin as one of the federation's top players. His fued with Stone Cold helped usher in the Attitude era and as Austin would rise to the top, so would have Brian Pillman. Its a shame he never got that chance to prove himself. Some say he was too small, but HBK is no bigger than he is. Davey Boy Smith: During his run in WCW in the late 80's he took part in a number of world title matches, but never could secure a win. When he returned to the WWF he was again placed at the top of the card, but a stupid pairing with Lex Luger ruined him for that stint. His second return to the motherland he was immediatly treated as main event material, as he was placed in the 6 Pack Challenge at Unforgiven, but again he was paired with horrible team mates and slipped into Mean Street Posse obscurity. In retrospect, I suppose I could have made a few better replacements (Blanchard, Magnum TA, McDaniel) but now I at least feel my list is justified.) -Cheex

    From the Inside

I saw one of the SNL parodies of Don West. It was Ferrel in a black wig and mustache screaming about how there was no way in hell that he was going to let the people buy a Michael Jordan trading card plaque for such a low deal. Priceless stuff. It was the one where Robert Downey Jr. was the host. -Cheex (the should-be-main eventer of the century)

I almost put Hennig, but then I remembered he won the AWA title sometime in the late 80s I believe. -Cheex
  15. 6 guys to do it every year wouldn't be too hard. This year if they kept it all RAW again they could have; Triple H, Goldberg, Kane, Chris Jericho, The Rock (if he's back), and Kevin Nash. SmackDown could do; Brock Lesnar, Kurt Angle, Chris Benoit, Big Show, Rhyno, and any other of their awesome talent pool. Or they could make Survivor Series a RAW vs. SmackDown! PPV where they each pick teams to face off in the Chamber -Cheex

    US Title's Lineage

Man, Choken One really gets a hard on for ruining post that try to start a conversation about something that pertains to WRESTLING. Sorry, Choken One, but we don't want to talk about how much Triple H is holding people down, or how Nash is going to rip his knee to shreds when he walks. This is no different than when comic book fans discuss conflicting storylines in their respective series. Last time I looked, there was a forumn on this very sight that allows people to do that. How about you go pollute their pleasure by dismissing everything they say as stupid and pointless. We all know its just a show. But it's a show that we all enjoy, so why not talk about something that involves how the show is percieved. If you don't want to talk about it, don't. No one is making you. You may call us marks for talking about lineage and what not, but we're all marks in some way, otherwise we wouldn't be here. So my advice to you, Choken One, is to stop replying to stuff if you're just going to rain on everybody's parade, and shut the fuck up. Sorry about that Steviekick, I'll talk about the topic now. It is my opinion that the WWE is really reaching to make their title's seem legit. I do not consider this incarnation of the US title to be part of WCW's lineage. WCW's US title lineage was absorbed by the WWE IC title, which was absorbed by the RAW World Title. So, with that knowledge every title that is on WWE programming right now begins and ends with WWE, except the Cruiserweight title, which is WCW's creation. -Cheex
  18. Cheex Incarnate

    I don't know about you...

Whenever the WWE reinstated the IC title, i dont know about you but I always considered it an entity outside of the original, which is now part of the World Title. That said, I would venture to say that the "World Title" is also a WWE only title, and should not include WCW's past. WCW's World title history is not part of the SmackDown version of the world title, while RAW's world title has the Intercontinental title's lineage (which has Hardcore, European, and WCW US). SmackDown's new US title should also not be considered a continuation of WCW's past. The original US title is part of RAW's World title. The only title that has anything to do with WCW's old history is the cruiserweight title. Now that i've thoroughly confused you all to get something off my chest, i bid you good day. -Cheex

    Batman Forever

Now, I'm sure we've all had something to do with a little Schumacher bashing here and there, adn all of it is well deserved. But one annoying fact has gone ignored long enough. Yesterday when I was watching Batman Forever there is a helicopter chase and at the end, the Two- Face's helicopter crashes into THE STATUE OF LIBERTY?! Now, call me crazy, bu New York City is NOT Gotham City. Jesus I hate Schumacher. -Cheex = Joel Friggin' Schumacher

    Scarface: 20th Anniversary

Hello all. Now, I'm not 100% sure on this, but a pretty good number of DVD sites are saying that in mid-late September they will re-release Scarface in special edition format with new audio and visual transfers. I think I speak for all of us (especially Dames) when I say; THANK GOD! I have the OOP version and the audio is really bad, and the special features leave alittle to be desired. Here's hoping they will have De Palma/Stone commentary track. -Cheex "I'M TONY MONTANA! JOU FUCK WIT ME, JOU FUCKIN WIT THE BEST!"

    Scarface: 20th Anniversary

Ok, ok, ok. Now While you aren't going to find a bigger Godfather fan than me (i'm even on a GF message board) Godfather Part III is nowhere near the top of the list of great gangster movies. One, it's not really as much about the mob as the first two. It's about Michael Corleone's ultimate tragedy. Really, the only mob influence in the movie is Joey Zasa (Joe Montegna's character) and the fact that Vincent Mancini (Any Garcia) is weasaling his way into a position of power. Nut all in all, it's a story about Michael. Also, The Untouchables is not really a gangster movie in the classic sense of the word. It's more of a police epic and this is apparent in the score and the main characters. Heck, DeNiro is in the movie for all of 15 minutes. If you really want to make a list of top gangster movies, look no further to the early James Cagney movies, and Little Caesar. Oh yeah, the movie Scarface with Pacino is actually a remake of a prohibition era gangster movie called Scarface: Shame of the Nation. Just a little info for all you Scarface marks like myself. -Cheex

    Scarface: 20th Anniversary

IMO, Scarface is a tiny bit better than Goodfellas, followed closely by Casino. Casino is lowest because (let's face it) it was just a cheap re-hash of Goodfellas. A good kind of re-hash though . That aside, I totally second coming out with a SE of Scorsese's two. The flipper disc on my Goodfellas sucks major ass. -Cheex

    New Metallica CD

I myself have been a pretty consistant Met' fan since I heard AMster of Puppets. I have all of their albums, including the Binge & Purge box set. I saw a video for one of their songs on thier new CD St. Anger (their first studio album in a good 5 years, i think). The song seemed pretty disjointed, and obviously a retreat from older Metallica. I'll buy it just to have it and the DVD it comes with. Anyone else? -Cheex
