The One and Only Smackdown! HCTP Thread
PsychoDriver replied to Insane Bump Machine's topic in Video Games
*raises hand* I mean, have they ever been in a video game before? I just think it's cool as hell, and I can't wait to kick ass with the country boy. I just wish that the legends had their own original entrances, that's my only issue right now. I wanted to see Hillbilly Jim come down to the ring with a pig damnit! Yeah but if you were given a choice between them and say Bret Hart, Rick Rude, Yokozuna, Junkyard Dog, Owen Hart, British Bulldogs, Jake Roberts, Earthquake, Demolition, Mr. Perfect.. heck the entire WRESTLE FEST arcade game roster.. I doubt Ol' Hillbilly would get that many votes. -

I think in the future they should let the fans vote on what legends they want in the game. Seriously, who would have voted for Hillbilly Jim, Nikolai Volkoff or The Iron Shiek? Well, Looking on the bright side at least I can reunite the SummerSlam 91 Dream Team of the Iraqi turncoat Sgt. Slaughter and The Iron Sheik. -
Hope it's not true, I'll wait for a better source before I start complaining. Heck, I knew a few kids in school who claimed their mysterious "uncle" worked for the WWF as well (One kid even claimed he was related to former WWF Action Zone Host Charlie Minn.. how scary is that?)

Does any one go to wrestling shows alone?
PsychoDriver replied to Papacita's topic in The WWE Folder
I almost always go with the same few friends.. But I did go to one alone once and though the show was good, It didn't enjoy it that much without having my friends to exchange comments with and so on, It took away from the whole experience. Oddly enough, I only seem to enjoy watching wrestling Tapes without distraction. -

CZW's Death Match Locale in Jeopardy
PsychoDriver replied to Nevermortal's topic in General Wrestling
The ban is for Dover only? must have misread that. Oh, well that is still bad just not as bad as I thought, they could get around that. There are alot of other bars with alot of other parking lots to run in, if need be. -

PsychoDriver replied to PsychoDriver's topic in General Wrestling
I've only been to/seen a few of them but yeah I'd say they were good (Not PWG good or anything but worth watching) This one in particular looks great, Messiah Vs. Kaos, Disco Vs. Lost, Ryan Vs. Cholo, Damage Inc Vs. AXP, Nick Berk Vs. Whoever all should be outstanding. -
I know a few XPW/CZW fans would be interested in knowing that Messiah Vs. Kaos will finally be taking place. I personally can't wait for that match... Article about MMW vs. S.A.T. in MLW
PsychoDriver replied to LucharesuFan619's topic in General Wrestling
Try http://noholdsbarredwrestling.com/columns/.../64619320.shtml Anyway, Good read... I think the match will be very good but I don't think it will be a Match of the year contender or anything -
I'll late replying to this but what the heck... Not true I don't know which part of CA you live in but California has plenty of cool indies And out of the all the guys you were crying to see... AJ Styles worked PWG in July and will be back in Oct. Colt Cabana Worked PWG last week and APW a few weeks earlier (Very nice guy BTW) Raven worked XPW in March (it counts) Sadly no CM Punk yet however Also: Chris Daniels Worked PWG last week and will be back in Oct. S.A.T./Brain XL Worked APW a few months ago Sonjay Dutt: Worked APW-LA last month Backseat Boys have worked PCW a few times and will be back Briscoe Brothers will be at PWG in oct. Messiah is a regular with PCW WPW brings out Toryumon wrestlers alot not to mention the CA regulars... So The California scene is nothing to complain about, State wise IMO CA's indies are second only to Philly's.

Taken from SoCalUncensored.com: PWG Presents "Are You Adequately Prepared To Rock?" By Silverback, PWG Staff Writer With the "Bad Ass Mother 3000" in the books, and "The Future" Frankie Kazarian crowned the first ever Pro Wrestling Guerrilla Champion, all eyes turn to October 4, when PWG gloriously presents "Pro Wrestling Guerrilla: Are You Adequately Prepared To Rock?"! The line up is already set in place, and now it's up to you to keep reading! Mr. Excitement, Phoenix Star & Charles Mercury vs. Lil' Cholo, Zokre & Top Gun Talwar - PWG Commissioner Paul T picked 6 wrestlers who he believed would present the fans with a kick ass opening contest, but they wouldn't lower themselves to work for PWG. Instead, he chose the veteran Mr. Excitement to lead a ragtag bunch of young up-and-comers, Phoenix Star and Charles Mercury, to battle the team of the street savvy trio of Lil' Cholo, Zokre, and Top Gun Talwar! Scorpio Sky vs. Hook Bomberry - Scorpio Sky & Hook Bomberry were the two biggest underdogs heading into the "Bad Ass Mother 3000" tournament, and despite their relative newness to the sport, both men are held in high regard in the PWG locker room. Commissioner Paul T, knowing it's best to please the locker room and not the fans, knew this would be the perfect opportunity to showcase these competitor's abilities in a one on one confrontation. Team Chismo (Excalibur & Disco Machine) vs. "Photogenic" Chris Bosh & Quicksilver - After being knocked out by the brutal Minnesota Lariat by Excalibur on the PWG debut show, Chris Bosh has been demanding a rematch. Paul T agreed to it, but during the intricate signing process, Excalibur's agent, Saul Silverman, advised him against taking this match. Instead, Excalibur offered up a Tag Team Rookie Challenge, pitting himself and Disco Machine (who Excalibur holds Power of Attorney over) against Chris Bosh and fellow Rudos Dojo Graduate, Quicksilver. Excalibur's motives are unclear as of now. Is he ducking a singles rematch with Bosh? Did he feel Bosh wasn't up to the challenge, and want to destroy 2 rookies this time? Or does he have some other diabolical sceme up his sleeve? Only Excalibur, and possibly Saul, know for sure. X-Foundation ("The Professional" Scott Lost & "Funky" Billy Kim) vs. The Ballard Brothers (Shane & Shannon Ballard) - As PWG grows into the 1600 lbs. gorilla the PWG "brass" envisioned, tag teams from all over are clamoring for a defined division. Therefore, Commissioner Paul T is looking to accommodate them with some great match ups! Although these teams have met in the past, this will be the first time they meet with this combination of members (Steve Ballard has long since retired since his first match with the X-Foundation in 1974.) Both teams will be looking to impress Paul T and make a post-victory trip to the pay window. TARO vs. "Scrap Iron" Adam Pearce - Scrap Daddy hates you. Don't look so surprised. Adam Pearce hates all of the fans, and blames you for his loss in the "Bad Ass Mother 3000" tournament. Since he can't beat each and every one of you up, he has decided to challenge the man that the fans love the most, TARO. Sickened by the crowd support TARO receives, Adam Pearce has decided to make an example of "the biggest man around, jack" before focusing on the PWG Championship. Will the 375 lbs. behemoth TARO be able to topple Ol' Scrappy, even with C. Edward Vanderpyle creeping about the ring? Number 1 Contender Match: "The Technical Wizard" Joey Ryan vs. "Shooting Star" Bobby Quance - Despite injuring his ribs in a brutal Semi-Final match with Super Dragon, Joey Ryan fought until the very end against Frankie Kazarian to be the first ever Pro Wrestling Guerrilla Champion. Joey Ryan would like nothing more than to have a rematch with Kazarian when he is 100%, and Commisoner Paul T would like nothing more than to give him one. But much like when he was a small child, struggling for rice grains in the streets of the valley, Paul T will make The Wizard work for it. Thus, the match has been signed, and Joey Ryan will face Bobby Quance, who will be making his Southern California return after a successful tour of Mexico. Quance, who was one half of the 2002 Southern California Match-Of-The-Year, is no stranger to being a champion, and would like nothing more than to get his hands on the "Sash of Bananas," the PWG Championship. The winner of this match will be granted first crack at whomever makes it out of "Are You Adequately Prepared To Rock?" as champion! The Briscoe Brothers (Jay & Mark Briscoe) vs. B-Boy & Super Dragon - PWG & Paul T are committed to showcase the best talents from all over the world, and this match is a perfect example. East Coast stalwarts Jay & Mark Briscoe, while both very young, have left an impressive list of fallen opponents in their wake, and are headed to Southern California to increase their reputation. Meanwhile, avid hip-hopper, Paul T, has decided to make this match a bi-costal battle, reminiscent of Biggie & Tupac, pitting sometime partners, oftentimes rivals, B-Boy & Super Dragon against the Bricoes. Paul T was quoted saying "Pray to Jah that this too does not end in murder." Pro Wrestling Guerrilla Championship Match: "The Future" Frankie Kazarian © vs. "The Fallen Angel" Christopher Daniels vs. AJ Styles - After being defeated by Frankie Kazarian in the Semi-Finals of the "Bad Ass Mother 3000," Christopher Daniels demanded he be made number 1 contender to whomever ultimately won the PWG Championship. With Daniels' well respected reputation, suave looks, and urbane personality, plus the fact that he defeated Commisoner Paul T's own client, NOSAWA, in the tournament, it was decided that no other candidate would be more deserving than Daniels. Shortly after making this decision, Paul T was contacted by none other than AJ Styles, who was unable to make the tournament due to prior commitments, but was very interested in adding the PWG title to his Championship Gallery (on display daily at the Georgia State Capitol Building.) Styles said he's already beaten Kazarian once in Pro Wrestling Guerrilla, so he should automatically be made number 1 contender. Paul T decided to grant Styles his request also, and said that after Kazarian won four times in 2 days to become champion, he will once again have his work cut out for him, as he defends the coveted "Sash Of Bananas," the PWG Championship, against two of the best wrestlers in the world today. Due to circumstances beyond our control, we had to further delay the release of the PWG Videos/DVDs, for which we apologize. Expect to see them in the very near future. Pro Wrestling Guerrilla's "Are You Adequately Prepared To Rock?" is taking place on Saturday, October 4, 2003, with doors opening at 7:30PM and 8:00PM belltime. The Westside Jewish Community Center is located at 5870 Olympic Blvd., Los Angeles, CA 90036. Tickets are $18, available online at http://www.prowrestlingguerrilla.com, at the Alternative Wrestling Shop, or by mail (PWG Tickets, PO Box 1527, Temple City, CA 91780. Certified checks or money orders only, please.) For more information, please visit http://www.prowrestlingguerrilla.com or email [email protected]. " Another awesome line-up, from the promotion that's fast becoming that best Indy on the west coast, If you live near LA check it out on Oct. 4th or else buy a tape/dvd when they come out.. support this fed.

I think it just means No FMW/BJPW/IWA type Hardcore (Barbed Wire, Fire or Explosions...) Hopefully it means just Tables/Ladders/Chairs type stuff with a few thumbtacks/lightube thrown in when needed (Like say HHH-Cactus from Royal Rumble 2000) and not the Goofy WWF Cookie Sheet and Fire extinguisher comedy "hardcore"

Hogan-Warrior WCW 1998 (The thought of the oWn still makes me cringe) Higher Power Any of the Undertaker angles over the "Urn" nWo 2002 Mr. American WCW invades WWF Any recent angles involing: Big Show, Torrie Wilson, Billy Gunn, Bradshaw, Test, Stephanie McMahon, Bob Holly, Mark Henry or Zack Gowen,
-
as far as I understand he WAS in the game but was removed for whatever reason (same with The Warrior) The clip you saw was probably just from an older version of the game (before Hogan was removed)

Sounds like a good show, I won't be able to watch it because it doesn't look like FOX SPORTS Digital is playing it tonight. Sucks, I really wanted to see Sonjay Vs. Yang, But of course I got to see Funk Vs. Abby Last week with everything that meant be considered entertainment cut out of it.

PWG Bad Ass Mother 3000 Tourney This Weekend in LA
PsychoDriver replied to PsychoDriver's topic in General Wrestling
I'd rule out B-Boy since he has his CZW/MLW bookings and may even get to go to Toryumon or Zero-One if things work out. What good is a champion that's always unavailable? But you've got a point, There's no glory in booking yourself to win a tournament (Ask Ian Rotten, I think he'd know) If not Dragon, I think it'd be Frankie or Daniels (for name value) or maybe an Underdog like Joey Ryan or Scott Lost. I agree, He's quite a sight to behold live. Spot wise he's one of the best there is (when he doesn't blow them that is) -

Could happen... but I'd put money on it being a Super Dragon Vs. Chris Daniels Final with SD going over. SD is 1-5 in his career in tourneys I just don't see him booking himself to lose. -

PsychoDriver replied to PsychoDriver's topic in General Wrestling
I think Cabana's winning.... last minute replacements in tournaments never seem to make it past the first round And Barber, since you seem to know alittle about M-Dogg... Are these PWG shows the only shows he's worked without Josh? It always seems that they are on every card together and it's odd to see one without the other.
