For those of you outside the West Coast who are mad about not getting this game well guess what we have to put up with next week...NEVADA VS. SAN JOSE STATE! While the majority of you will get Michigan vs. Michigan State (others Texas/Missouri) we have to sit through that crap. ABC has this bizarre deal where they have to show a WAC game every year and they never even pick a good one. Okay on the brightside we get the best middle of the day game, USC/ASU but good lord what makes ABC think Nevada/San Jose State would get better ratings on the West Coast than Michigan/Michigan State? This is just a ploy for more people to sign up for ESPN Gameplan which is fairly useless outside of getting all the ABC games. Speaking of Michigan they are crumbling in the 4th against Wisconsin. And then get an incerception right back, so nevermind.

South Florida is up 21-0 on Louisville.
-
USC killing themself early. Fumbled punt leads to a field goal, Dwayne Jarret lets a touchdown go through his hands and is intercepted, Oregon then scored a touchdown. Turnover on downs and Oregon is moving again.

No point in waiting for Georgia Tech/Virginia Tech to end, two match-ups decided: #2 South Carolina (Cuban Linx) def. Troy (Angel Grace Blue) Nebraska (CarnivalizComing) def. #6 Texas A&M (Secret Agent)
-
Western Michigan beat Temple 19-16, Tulane is up big late against SMU, one match-up decided: #3 Oklahoma (Damaramu) def. #5 Illinois (Matt Young/Secret Agent)

One match-up decided by the early games: #1 Florida (Agent Bond34) def. #10 Stanford (Bored)

Wow Minnesota wins a big game for once.
-
Army up on Iowa State 14-7 at the half. Army hasn't defeated a ranked team in 33 years.

Matt Young has not submitted picks and Vern Gagne has yet to submit Saturday picks (see the my previous post on this). If neither submit picks by tommorow's deadline here are the replacement picks assignments: Illinois - Secret Agent Minnesota - Edwin MacPhisto If Matt does not submit picks this week they will no longer be eligible to win the contest.

I see Tennessee/LSU has been moved to Monday so I'm going to have to wait until Monday night to post the Week 5 thread. Five people are late this week: Matt Young, bravesfan, Kotzenjunge, noogoodnick, DragonLordKaiba. Vern Gagne didn't submit Saturday picks but did submit a Thursday pick. I'm gong to let this slide for this week but new rule starting next week, if you do not make your full picks before the 1st deadline you will not get credit for the Thursday (or Friday if applicable) game regardless if you made a pick for the Thursday game. I don't want to have to bother to check up on to see if someone has made their full picks. Prepare to be pissed off most of you, here's the ABC regional coverage map: http://espn-att.starwave.com/tvlistings/map/ncf/050924.pdf Everyone outside the Southeast will get Notre Dame/Washington.
-
Since you are giving notice ahead of time I can just use replacement picks for you with whoever is ranked one spot lower than you, with your current ranking it should be a good team, but I won't penalize you as being late and allow the replacement picks to count for Thursday and Friday next week.

Mark Ellis is yo daddy. At the moment he's hitting .329 but he's gonna come up short of qualifying batting title as he spent the first half in a needless platoon with Marco Scutaro. I don't know where this came from and it'll probably end up being a fluke year but he's right now by far the A's most reliable hitter.
-
I don't see one yet but it's a three time slot, doubleheader which means only the west coast gets USC/Oregon and the rest of country splits between the two early games. Yup it's lame.

Just so everyone knows I won't be bothering to post conference standings until Week 5 is complete as everyone will have played a conference game by then.
-
Also add in that there might not be a defense in the country that could contain ASU's passing game. Sam Keller is already looking better than Andrew Walter.
-
As of right now I'd say they are the 7th best team in the conference. 1. USC 2. Arizona State 3. California 4. UCLA 5. Oregon 6. Washington State 7. Oregon State 8. Arizona 9. Stanford 10. Washington

I think the main reason I prefer college over the pros is the television coverage. If you live in a two team market like me you are stuck several Sunday's out of the year seeing only the local teams. When you hate one of them (Raiders) and the other sucks (49ers) this can get very boring. The NFL makes me feel I should be grateful I get any coverage and if I want to make sure I see a decent game I have to get a satellite dish. With college football all you need is basic cable and you can see a dozen games on a Saturday. Sure too often needless blowout games are shown because a big name team is in the game (really did Rice/Texas need national t.v. coverage?) but you are guarenteed to see at least one great game that day, like Michigan State/Notre Dame this past week. I also believe college football is more exciting to watch and it completely blows the NFL away when it comes to atmosphere. There will be no regular season NFL game this year that touches Ohio State/Texas and LSU/ASU from last week. College football's only real problem, and it's a huge one, is the way they declare their champion has become a running joke. I can understand can be a complete turnoff for some people from ever getting too excited about college football.

Once again voters show they are unable to adjust to upsets. This week Michigan is two spots ahead of Notre Dame, who are one spot ahead of Michigan State. The Coaches Poll is even worse as Michigan is five spots ahead of Notre Dame who is four spots of Michigan State. I know Michigan beat that powerhouse Eastern Michigan this week but would have it have killed the voters to drop them below Michigan State? And they still have Iowa a spot ahead of Iowa State. Again the Coaches Poll is even worse with Iowa State not even close to even being ranked yet Iowa is. Remeber that poll is still helping to decide the national champion. What a joke. New AP Top 25 1. USC 2. Texas 3. LSU 4. Virginia Tech 5. Florida 6. Florida State 7. Georgia 8. Ohio State 9. Lousiville 10. Tennessee 11. Purdue 12. Miami 13. California 14. Michigan 15. Georgia Tech 16. Notre Dame 17. Michigan State 18. Arizona State 19. Texas Tech 20. Alabama 21. Iowa 22. Iowa State 23. Virginia 24. Oregon 25. UCLA Dropped Out: Boston College, Clemson, Oklahoma, Fresno State 26.
