God damn BCS controversy has turned me into a whore for a day. *holds head down in shame*
-
From my original post: I'm a dork so I'm actually doing some research but I'll probably just ignore all of it and go with my instincts.
-
They just did it so it would get more attention and the NCAA allowed it. The date a game is played really doesn't mean much anymore. Oh and yes like I said in my original post keep the bowl discussion to the other threads and just let this be picks only.
-
Make it self confidence and the ability to talk to girls and you got yourself a deal! SOLD!

Personal pride...knowing your better than everyone else. I'm not made of money here!

Welcome to Bored's College Bowl Pick 'Em Contest. RULES 1. You must pick a winner FOR ALL 28 games. If you leave one out I will not count your picks. If there is a game where you have no clue about either team flip a coin for all I care just please pick a winner. 2. Each bowl game is assigned a point value from 28 (Sugar Bowl) to 1 (Hawaii Bowl). If you correctly select the winner of a game you earn the points that the game is worth (i.e. pick the Sugar right and you'll earn 28 pts). If you are wrong with your pick you earn zero points. I assigned the games their point value based on the combined BCS ranking of the teams in each game so there is no personal bias on how important I believe each game is as it is simply based on the quality of teams involved according to the BCS. I did this just to make the contest slightly more interesting than just a straight up who picks the most wins contest. TIEBREAKS (for the overall winner) 1. The contestant who picked the most bowl games correctly. 2. The contestant who picked the most games consectively correct to start the contest. 3. The contestant who picked the most games consectively correct to end the contest. 4. Fight to death OR Just call it a tie. DEADLINE You must have your picks posted by Tuesday, December 16th at 7:00 PM EST/4:00 PM PST which is the start of the New Orleans Bowl. You can NOT change your picks after that date. You can change post picks and change them between now and then if you so choose. If you do change your picks please PM me so I don't miss it. OTHER NOTES I will be participating in the contest as you could expect and I'll post my picks on the board probably in the next couple of days. I'd prefer everyone only make picks on this thread and not turn into a discussion of the bowls as we can create a seperate thread for that. So here is the full line-up of games and their point value for each game is listed in bold. December 16 New Orleans: North Texas vs. Memphis 6 pts. December 18 GMAC: Louisville vs. Miami (OH) 18 pts. WOAH...Texas drops to the Holiday Bowl? Did the Cotton pass on them? Wow.
-
Its all about predetermined conference tie-ins and Conference USA some how convinced five bowls this year. The MAC only has two so NIU is left out. The Houston Bowl could have taken them as an at-large but they went with Navy. Oh and I'll definently have the my Bowl Pick 'Em up later tonight.
-
Oregon State but it was on the road and only lost by 2.
-
No they rejected the GMAC Bowl to weasel their way to getting a home game in the Ft. Worth Bowl but they still might get smoked by a very good Boise State team.
-
Yes I copied and pasted a list from the previous week but I corrected it.
-
Corrected bowl list. December 16 New Orleans: North Texas vs. Memphis December 18 GMAC: Louisville vs. Miami (OH) December 22 Tangerine: N.C. -
Yup Kansas State/Ohio State in the Fiesta so they must have picked OSU first.
-
I'm stunned...they are passing up the Miami-Ohio State re-match that they could have hyped the shit out of and go with a game that wasn't very good the first time they played. My only guess is the Fiesta Bowl took Ohio State first. I knew that could happen but I thought maybe the BCS would convince them not to.
-
Wait...did they just say Florida State is going to the Orange Bowl? Did Miami get picked by the Fiesta Bowl or they actually going to have a re-match of a crappy game?
-
From collegebcs.com: Unbelievable.
-
Official...Oklahoma vs. LSU in the Sugar Bowl.
-
Starts in a couple of minutes...
-
Its plainly simple...until there is a playoff there will NEVER be a champion that people don't question. Seriously life will go on if people don't think Oklahoma is the real national champ so don't lose sleep over it.
-
Cheap plug: Either tonight or tommorrow I'll be posting my College Bowl Pick 'Em Contest. From collegebcs.com with two computer ratings still not announced this is the current unofficial Top 3 ratings: 1 Oklahoma 4.94 2 LSU 5.99 3 Southern Cal 6.48
-
Well...it was the Pilgrims who won it but they became the Red Sox so technically yes they have five world tites so my mistake
-
Well Craig James has been a notorius BCS apologist all year and hell I think he was hired by ABC this year just to be that.
