  1. It'd be virtually impossible to be last in correct picks and first in wins. Of the Top 14 right now, all are tied for 11th or better in correct picks. In the end the key is winning and making a lot of correct picks.
  2. After last week where things went shockingly to form, this week things finally are back to "normal" for this contest. Toledo saved the Top 10 from being completely blown apart but still there a lot of changes this week and...CONTROVERSY~! About damn time. This time around we have a 4-0 team not even in the Top 5! *gasp* Also someone doesn't even submit picks this week but hangs on to a Top 10 ranking, the horror! Really this all pales in comparrison to past contests where there'd be three 2-2 teams ranked so don't get too mad if you got snubbed this week. The big winners this week end up being Edwin MacPhisto and nogoondnick with now former #1 teke184 being the big loser. So as to who the new #1 is, it was pretty easy to figure it'd come down to Cuban Linx, who knocked off the #1 team this week, and Secret Agent, who'd been nipping at teke's heels the last two weeks. And the new #1 is.... 1. Oklahoma - Secret Agent 2.4 2. South Carolina - Cuban Linx 2.7 3. Texas - UTBroward 4.2 4. Virginia - Edwin MacPhisto 4.5 5. Oregon - nogoodnick 4.7 6. Syracuse - CanadianChris 5.0 7. N.C. State - AboveAverage484 5.4 8. Nebraska - Mecca 6.0 9. Florida - Urban Warfare 6.3 10. LSU - teke184 6.8 Also Receiving Votes: Arizona (UZI Suicide), Florida State (King), Kent State (JHawk), Miami of Ohio (Hawk 34)

  4. Oregon blew up in the second half and has scored 27 unanswered points. 48-31 with a few minutes to play. Edit: 34 unanswered, 55-31 Why crush my dreams? In their two Pac-10 games Stanford been out scored 62-10 in the 2nd half.
  5. So what is everyone's opinion of Mike Patrick's bizarre Britney Spears name drop during overtime of the Georgia/Alabama game? An announcer going senlie or some idiot ESPN producer trying to get the announcer to make a pop culture reference to cater to all those non-sports fans watching a late night SEC football game? I'll go with senility as Todd Blackledge seemed to have no clue why the hell he'd randomly bring up Britney especially at that point in the game.
  6. STANFORD~ has scored 21 unanswered points to take a 24-21 lead on Oregon late in the first half. Sadly this game is televised no where in the free world. EDIT: Make it 31-21!
  7. Well if he kicks another field goal here they beat the spread... Is it safe to say Michigan just owns Penn State? Even if Michigan isn't quite as bad as they looked the first two weeks this still seemed like the perfect opportunity for Nittany Lions to end the losing streak but they still can't get it done.
  8. I just noticed that you and pinjockey disagreed on Georgia/Alabama so the tiebreak won't be a factor in your match-up. Sorry everyone I rushed through the differing picks post this week so I wouldn't even pay much attention to it to figure out if you won or not.
  9. Texans - 20 points Baltimore New England Detroit Houston N.Y. Jets Minnesota Green Bay San Francisco Tampa Bay Seattle Cleveland Jacksonville Carolina N.Y. Giants Dallas New Orleans
  10. Still nothing from Urban Warfare or Fokai so here's replacment pick assignments for tommorrow just in case: Florida - King Hawaii - Carnival
  11. A's had black alternates in 2001 but with green lettering which was so dark that on television it looked liked they had black lettering. The white lettering looks a little better but still completely unecessary. What they should have done was brought back the old school kelly green as an alternate jersey.
  12. Coverage map for that ESABCPN primetime slot this week which neither game should be watched by anyone.

  17. Juan Pierre, career .301 hitter. Next. Edit: Bah, Google Boy beat me to it. And no one show PujolJunkie Jack Cust's stats this year, he might faint.
  18. If there is a two-way tie for first place in the Pac-10 the Rose Bowl will select the winner of the head-to-head match-up so if Oregon beats USC they would go to the Rose Bowl in that scenerio. The Rose Bowl only "chooses" the rep if the Pac-10 or Big Ten champ ends up in the BCS Title Game, otherwise they adhere to the normal conference tiebreak scenerios.
  19. See this is what happens when you type up something quick and don't bother to read it after you post it. Alabama is of course supposed to be #16, not Auburn. There's definately exceptions to my "rule", which I basically came up with off the top of my head right before my entry, but like I said I don't see any of the one loss teams out there running the table and getting themselves into national title contention. So for the time being I say give the benefit of the doubt to the undefeated teams, even if they've played subpar competition because you never know which one might shock us and still be undefeated going into November. With Hawaii I really wasn't sure what to do with them thus ended being more generous with them than they probably deserve at the moment and I would slot Air Force at #25 if I did it over.
  20. Might as well call this SEC Week as the three biggest games are all in that conference while the rest of the schedule is pretty bleak in terms of big time games. The Thursday game is a fairly interesting match-up between former powerhouses that rarely play each other and I suppose Washington/UCLA has serious Sun Bowl implications for those of you looking to visit El Paso this holiday season. The ABC primetime slot is regional this week with two terrible match-ups and I'll post the coverage map when it becomes available. Northwestern/Ohio State will be on ABC in Ohio only with Penn State/Michigan switched to ESPN. 21. iggymcfly and Carnvial have them so I might as well too. I'm actually doing this in lieu of my pointless College Football Wrap-up as I missed all of the mid-day games yesterday and next Saturday I have to work and possibly the Saturday after that as well so it might be a while before I do another Wrap up entry. I did want to do a Worst Top 25 poll but then I realized that would take more time than doing a generic Top 25 so I opted for the lazy route. One thing to get out of the way before this quickly thrown together poll I do have one crackpot theory about early season polls. I rarely see a point during the first month of the season of ranking a team that has already lost a game. With the current college football postseason structure, the regular season is supposedly a "playoff" unto itself where if a team loses they are eliminated. This of course is not true since one loss teams have and will win national championships but you get the idea. Teams that lose this early in the season are very likley to lose again and I personally don't see any team that has lost a game already this season that is going to run the table, although I won't keep anyone from making the argument for one. So that said for now I'm only going to rank teams that are undefeated but after next week we will be almost month into the season and at that point I may change that, if I actually do another one. Also I'm really for the most part only taking into account what has happened so far this season, which is how the polls are supposed to work but don't. Yes Boston College is ranked too high but they've won three conference games and none of them were really in any doubt late in the game so I say give credit where credit is due at this point. I put this together in about ten minutes so don't even bother looking at it. 1. LSU 2. USC 3. Oklahoma 4. Florida 5. West Virginia 6. Boston College 7. Ohio State 8. South Carolina 9. California 10. Oregon 11. Texas 12. Penn State 13. Wisconsin 14. Rutgers 15. Kentucky 16. Auburn Alabama 17. South Florida 18. Clemson 19. Arizona State 20. Cincinnati 21. Missouri 22. Hawaii 23. Texas A&M 24. Kansas 25. Purdue
  22. Jeff Wilkins is about two feet short on a 56 yard field goal and the 49ers survive 17-16. They might be the worst 2-0 team in the league and they'll get crushed in Pittsburgh next week but I'll take it.
  23. I know, wasn't paying attention. Fixed.
  24. New AP Poll - So much for the good feelings about this poll as Louisville is three spots ahead of Kentucky, although Coaches' was worse as they have them four spots ahead. First Harris Poll I believe comes out next week. 1. USC (46) 2. LSU (19) 3. Florida 4. Oklahoma 5. West Virginia 6. California 7. Texas 8. Ohio State 9. Wisconsin 10. Penn State 11. Rutgers 12. South Carolina 13. Oregon 14. Boston College 15. Clemson 16. Alabama 17. Virginia Tech 18. Louisville 19. Hawaii 20. Texas A&M 21. Kentucky 22. Georgia 23. South Florida 24. Nebraska 25.
