Have you ever got so frustrated with a game that you...

T. Hawk was easy to beat once he started taking to the sky and you weren't ever close.... PLaying Sagat, Tiger Uppercutting that bitch back to the fields... -
::laughs:: that excerpt was from the Marvel RPG character that I created back in 1993.... and as to the rest, TRITEC, thats just me... ::shrugs:: like it or not, it is what it is.

No, but with the other top names taken care of, what else is there that doesn't involve bringing someone over from Smackdown? At least it has a good storyline to build it on, with Cena not being able to FU Umaga. Never mind that he was able to FU Big Show...

I think it was more initiated by Vince Carter than anything, trying to draw a foul, and that doesn't work sometimes as the refs know at times when a player is looking to bail them out. Chauncey did the same thing on the play before, except that he was knocked down. That's life in the NBA... sometimes you get the calls, sometimes you don't.

Good win by the Pistons against the Nets, even though they blew a pretty good lead en route. Look for Lawrence Frank to get fined by the league for any bitching he does. I saw the final play, and he doesn;t have that much of a case. Vince Carter took an off-balance shot and it did not fall. Shocking. I think every decent team is good for at least five horrible games a year where they either can;t throw it into the ocean, the refs are just going to call the game a certain way, or they just don;t have it defensively. The 96 Bulls were the only team that actually could have won 82 out of 82 games, but they only won 72. Nobody's perfect, I guess.

From what I saw when the Pistons dismantled them, Rip, the Hawks are one player away at least. That and they need to keep that team intact while some of their players get more experienced.

The first time I did Chun-Li's Kikoshou in MvC, I marked like an eight year old. It soon after became by best defensive weapon.
-
The Hawks are getting killed by the Pistons right now, 85-62. Marvin Williams can sky, I'll give him that. EDIT: 108-77... And Jason Maxiell reminds me of Karl Malone when he first came into the league, wanting to dunk the ball every time he touched it... what a performance tonight.

I don't mind when Rome does it. Probably because I only listen to 1-2 segments per day. 3 hours of Rome in one sitting would probably make me go nuts. All right, enough of the Rome bashing.... I've been listening to the man for 8 years now, and compared to others of his ilk, he rarely goes into his personal life. I know less about him as a person as I do the broadcaster. Sure he has several bits about his past that he regurgitates from time to time (the Merkur resets have never failed to make me laugh), but for the most part he stays on point and on topic. JT the Brick, however, is a total waste of air time, which is funny because Rome basically made that man's career. His constant shilling of the dessicated corpse that is the Oakland Raider franchise annoys me to no end, and his "going full speed" schtick just makes me change the station. Dan Patrick is just too damned full of himself to be taken seriously, even though his show is a little more interesting now that he is working with Keith Olbermann again.

Randy should stay retired... He should take a good long look at Ken Shamrock over the past year or two and stay retired. Carlito, I'm not going to argue with you. You're convinced you're right, no matter what kind of logic is brought against you. Come back to me when you can show you can be objective about your favorite fighters or even your own opinion. Any one of these fighters will fight anyone else if the money is right, especially considering UFC's pay structure. Considering it is what they both do for a living, if they are such close friends that if they fought, title or no, their friendship will survive it. Its more than a little naive to say that two professional fighters will not fight each other out of friendship. Nuff said. -
I'm quite happy with John Paxson as the GM, but I wish Jordan had some ownership of the Bulls. Less Reinsdorf. I wouldn;t mind it myself, but nope.... Caron Butler is going to be the key to the Wizards' successes. Gilbert is going to be Gilbert pretty much every night, and they need a second scorer to keep defenses honest. Though if Gilbert keep throwing it in from the opposite baseline, that might not be necessary. Speaking of Gilbert, I notice no one said anything when Kobe ran him down after Gilbert dropped 60 on the Lakers. Its open to interpretation, but it sounded like player hating to me... Kobe is the last person in the world to say anything about another player's shot selection considering his own past history. Glass houses and all that.

I think that we have all seen that while Jordan was one of if not the greatest player of all time, he is a HORRIBLE executive. H learned that lesson with the Wizards, and I think he is better suited being one of the faces of the Bobcats. Because you can play like nobody's business does not mean that it would translate to either the coaching or management levels. After the way Reinsdorf and Krause ran all the players off (thinking somehow it was THEM who were the catalyst for the Bulls' successes), there was no way in hell that Jordan was going to take an office job with the Bulls.
-
Agreed. I knew he was okay when I saw a game I think was two weeks ago where he threw down a dunk that got me off the couch.... he's getting close to where he was before that horrible injury... all to the good, says I.

I have Double Dragon on mine. I can't remember the site I got it from.

This early in the season?? Maybe by the halfway point or the All-Star Break, but we're what, 24, 25 games in? A little more than a quarter of the way in? (Comes back after looking at the standings) 16-7 is a good record, and as long as Kobe continues to play exactly the way he has, the have a shot in the playoffs. That being said, I think Phoenix is going to run them into the ground in said playoffs, especially if Amare stays healthy. But too many things can happen between now and April. Orlando with a hell of a win last night after Cleveland got way out in front to start the game. What is going on with Cleveland, anyway? I expected them to step on Orlando's throat and finish them after starting out the way they did, but Orlando's bench got them right back in it.

And the plot thickens... I'm just wondering how long it will be until Mirko gets his shot. "You guys going to come and pick my head up out of the second row after he kicks it off??" -Forest Griffin on Between the Ropes, talking about the possibility of fighting Mirko.

My thoughts exactly, Corey. Sebastian and the band are nowhere near as good apart as they are together. I only saw two concerts this year, so this will be brief. 2 - Nickelback/Hinder/Hoobastank/some other band: The tickets were given by my GF's sister-in-law, which is just as well. Nickelback was pretty damn good live, and they get the fact that a concert should be more an event, and they went old school with plenty of pyro and a nice little Dimebag tribute. It almost wasn;t worth sitting through the other three bands, though. 1 - Iron Maiden/Bullet For My Valentine: I know, I know... big surprise, right? Given the fact that Maiden is my favorite band, I hadn;t seen them in ten years, I got floor tix, and I gave my digital camera one hell of a workout all added up to a great night. They were tight and in the pocket, and the new material sounded good even though I was a little disappointed by the lack of playing their classic music. I know why they did that however, and I look forward to seeing them again in 2007.

And thats what it comes down to. Opinion. I see it one way, you see it another. I will agree that Mirko has a better chance than most at beating Fedor, however. And you're the only one here trying to prove a point. No one else has even ventured a reply to what I said. You have a point but the way I see it, friends are friends but you can be rest assured that if I am put in a match with a friend of mine, I am going to do everything in my power to beat the shit out of him to win the match. Win or lose, unless he does something I consider to be bullshit (repeated low blows or something along that line), he will be my friend once the adrenaline dies down and one of us gets over the loss. Competition does not mean the friendship is over by any means. In such a sport, its not good for your career to say "I won't fight that guy despite the fact that I have a chance at being a champion, which means that I would be one of the very best in the world at what I do, and I would be able to better provide for my family, because he's my friend and I don't fight my friends." That's a good way to be put off to the side and be passed over for opportunities. -

Somthing tells me you didn't watch that fight. Yeah I did. Everything that Mirko tried, Fedor had an answer for. It got to the point that it looked to me like Mirko was second guessing himself and Fedor won the match handily. While I agree Fedor was clearly the winner of the fight, to say Cro Cop is Fedor's personal bitch is kinda arrogant. Fedor did not dominate Cro Cop. Here are examples of making someone their personal bitch: GSP/Hughes 2, Silva/Franklin, Silva/Leben, Fedor/Coleman 2, Liddell/Babalu 2, and thats only over the last few months. You don't have to beat the living hell out of someone in a short length of time in order to make someone your bitch. The way I see it, you take everything that your opponent throws at you and you still are beating him. When you do that, you break his spirit, you can do anything you want to him and he if does't somehow have an answer, the fight is yours. Fedor did that in spades. And it has nothing to do with arrogance to say that. You can disagree with my statement, but there's no need to go into that realm. The way I saw that fight, Fedor had an answer for everything Cro Cop tried and everything he tried was pretty much working. Towards the end of that fight, Mirko looked broken. Friendships mean little when a big payoff and a chance to become champion are up for grabs. Friendships are fine, but competition is competition especially when there is a chance to be champion and a big payoff at stake. -
By an order of magnitude, no less.

MSG sells itself, bro. Its like the Staples Center, in that a good percentage of the people who go could care less about basketball, they just want to be seen there. And with that cable deal, thats why they can afford to be over the cap. And I think you are overestimating AI's drawing power a little. He himself is not going to sell the place out, only winning does that. I cannot see AI going to a place where there is a player making close to $20 million a season, unless that player is part of the deal. I would assume that T'Wolves fans would come in droves as they would have a sudden shot at, at the very least, a solid playoff run. Plus, two lifetime All-Stars on the same team is enough to make anyone want to go and watch. Wow, this is my first post in like, a month. Congratulations. I think that the fans would only start coming out seriously if the team started winning. To pack the place and watch them struggle initially while Iverson and the team get used to each other is a little slappy, if you ask me. And that coincides with the team being decent at the time and I would think a hellacious waiting list for season tickets. They were constantly in the playoffs at the time (Semis in 94, 95 and 96), and they were in the Finals in 94... Considering that in my opinion the team is just not good right now (and yes I am being PC when I say that), 13-14,000 is pretty damned good. I'm not surprised in the slightest they got booed off the court.

You can forget about that for at least another year or two. Hockey got too big for its britches and got humbled to all hell and back when they ran face-first into the hard, cold reality that they will ALWAYS be the #4 sport in the United States at best. Yeah, I know... in Canada its a different story, but the majority of us ain't in Canada. Nuff said. Back to the topic du moment, I liked Ali Raps. They did the right thing in getting Chuck D to host it.
