You should not be disappointed. The ports are very well done (okay, there's a few people ranting that sfx and voices may be .003 seconds off in the SF games, but whatever), and nearly all of them have adjustable difficulty and a lot of freedom to configure controls. The art is pretty awesome too. Those rejected character designs are funny. I can't wait to unlock the ones for the other SF games. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Yeah, I like it... I had flashbacks playing Commando... that was 85, and life was radically different for me then. I saw Midway Arcade Classics volume 4, which is all driving games... I am ambivalent about buying it, though NBA 2k6, X-Men Legends II, Hot Shots Golf Fore, and Capcom Arcade Classics should hold me for awhile.. at least until SvR 2006 comes out next month. And I think that SF Alpha Generations is a port of the Street Fighter Zero anime that came out a couple years ago.

    Wrestlers Being Pricks

Scott Hall blew me off at a Circle K in Orlando back when I was living there. I was pissed for days about it, since all I said was hello, and politely waited until after he signed something for someone else. Asshole. Back when WCW was pretty much headquarted in Orlando, you could run into any of the wrestlers in grocery stores and the like... A friend of mine met Booker and Stevie just after they won the titles from Sting and Luger, and was floored at how big Scott Norton was. Even though she always played a slutty heel, I am not surprised at all that Dawn Marie is a sweetheart. You could tell just by looking at her.

NBA 2K6 and NBA Live 2006

I never held back in 2k5... I adjusted things to make them more difficult and I was still blowing teams out by 25-30, sometimes worse.

I just bought the Capcom collection today, and I plan on playing it pretty heavily through this weekend.... Though at some point I really need to spend time getting my dice-and-paper RPG off the ground.... I have people pestering me.

NBA 2K6 and NBA Live 2006

I blew up the Suns roster, got a better head coach and training staff... and still was under the cap by about 3 million. It was going to be interesting come sign up time, but its all moot now because I bought 2k6 today. I swear, the only times I have finished a full 82 game season were live 95, 96, and 2001...

NBA 2K6 and NBA Live 2006

Thats why ya make trades, bro. You're just a masochist if you're playing the Knicks in a season as they are. Aside from Starbury, what do they have?

if you were fast on the button, you could go all the way to the championship bout if you took El Condor because of his figure-four.

Timing and perfect positioning, otherwise its two points for the opposition.

NBA 2K6 and NBA Live 2006

I have to agree about Live, I still say that their best version was Live 96 for the Genesis. 97 and 98 were almost unplayable, 99 I didn;t play, 2000 I had on the PS1 and it was okay... I liked the game intro better than the game itself. I hope 2k6 is better from a defensive standpoint, because nothing annoys me more on 2k5 than defending a shot about as well as you can and still watching it go in, and blocking shots is more about luck than timing, no matter what your rating is with blocked shots... not to mention that smaller guard had such a ridiculous advantage because of the ability to change up shots while in the air. I pride myself on being a good player on the defensive end in that game, and it was still a little frustrating to see Iverson and Francis go off for 35-40 because they change their shots in midair almost instantaneously.
  12. His comments about Grisham, Heenan and Droz were very unnecessary, yes. Is he the classic mark for himself? Without question. But his comments, as rambling as they were, and if you go into it knowing that he is talking just to hear himself, they were right on in damning Vince and company for what it was and what it has become over the years, and how he has gone with the "if you are not with me, you are the enemy" mentality. I have no doubt in my mind that Vince would have completely buried Bret if he had not signed on at the eleventh hour. Vince and his cronies have been doing this kind of thing for years and years, its only now coming more and more to light because he is the king of the mountain, and there is nothing in place quite yet to knock him from that perch. Make no mistake, I am not giving Warrior a free pass for his out-of-line comments about Heenan, Droz and Grisham. Far from it. But considering what he believes about them and what had been said about him, I can understand his anger.

    Brand New Danger Zone 9-24-2005

Not to go pronunciation snob on you, DA, but its pronounced Hi-PER-bowl-ee. I liked the back and forth as well, you both gave excellent answers and perspective to the issues brought forth. I thought that you were interviewing Jude Law for a second. Damn, HTQ, you have a deep voice. I had no clue at all you were British.

    Smackdown VS Raw 2006

Heh heh. That's probably the only reason that Season mode is going two years in SVR 2006, since the NWO storyline from 2002 on SYM made the Season mode go two years as well. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I have to admit that I liked the NWO storyline for what it was, and although it always ended with you against Hogan and Hogan turning face and then going against Nash and X-Pac, it was still fun and it still gained experience for your CAW. Yes, HHH is a better wrestler than Batista. No question about it. But Batista is stronger, a little bit tougher, and I dare say a bit quicker than Trips, especially since every time I see him in a match he has that quad taped up, sometimes both. It all comes out in the wash. Personally, Trips should be no higher than 92 or 93. My dislike for him aside, he was the most complete wrestling package before his body started to break down. He was strong, pretty quick, a decent wrestler, and a good brawler. Nowadays, he is still strong, not as quick, still decent in the ring, and relies on brawling a bit too much, even as a heel. But thats just my opinion.

    Smackdown VS Raw 2006

I have thought this for a long time, but Trips' Strength rating has always been way too high. 8.5, MAYBE a 9, but not 9.5. Taker is/was 9.5 which makes sense. Batista should have a rating of 9.5 or 10 in Strength. Kane should be a 9 or 9.5. Most of the other wrestlers are fairly close in approximation. There is only one wrestler I know of that deserves a 10 in Speed and thats Rey Mysterio. RVD at 9.5 is a stretch, though a 9 seems to be about right. The average wrestler's endurance/stamina should be 7.5 or 8, with few over 9. Hardcore is subjective, though considering Trips' love affair with the sledge, he should get a 9 or 9.5. Looking at Dupree, I can't argue with those stats much.

    OAO 10/1 Impact Thread

I have to admit that I marked big time when I saw the Destroyer for the first time.... its unique, and no less contrived than the People's Elbow or *shudder* The Worm.
  18. Rendclaw

    Smackdown VS Raw 2006

Agreed. Considering how long he's been champ, he should at least be 90. Big Show is too low at 82. He should be at least 85-88. Creating a CAW is going to be frustrating. No wonder a lot of people were complaining about how hard DoR2 is. Definite rental time, to be sure.

BTW DA, when are you going to start the Danger Zone back up?

    Smackdown VS Raw 2006

LOD with yellow, spiked shoulder pads on a Smackdown game wouldn't make you too happy, though, would it? As I said before, if the game is fun and I enjoy playing it, I would not care one bit. I agree. I got bored of the Season mode in SVR in 2 or 3 weeks because of the Diva-oriented nature of the Season mode, the limited amount of storylines, the lack of being able to switch wrestlers to other rosters like on HCTP (which probably won't be seen in SVR 2006, but hopefully if the reviews for the game sound good despite the flaws I've been noticing in the previews lately, that might make up for it), and only two championship belts on both shows. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Thats why I will probably rent SvR first this time. I'm not going to invest 50 bucks in a game that I will play for a very short time and then lose complete interest it in to an "inferior" version, like what happened with SvR 1. You might be right, though I can;t remember.

Dave Sahadi on Between the Ropes

If the E is going to go that far and I listened to the interview, they are going to lose this lawsuit, which is going to open the floodgates for other wrestlers to get their names/gimmicks back. Good for wrestling as a whole, says I.
  23. Rendclaw

    Bound For Glory

And he should. Joe and Monty are the future of TNA in a lot of ways, in both the short and long term, along with the X Division as a whole.

    Smackdown VS Raw 2006

Once again, more lazy programming from Yukes with the color scheme fuck-ups on wrestler attires. THIS is why edit-a-wrestler needs to be included in the Smackdown series BADLY at this point. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> For those who care enough about the accuracy of the attire. I wouldn;t care if they wrestled "naked", as long as the game is fun to play. The storylines of the single player season definitely has to improve, thats for sure. I am still finding branches of storylines in HCTP that SvR simply did not have, and HCTP is now three years old. And they need to add all of the championships, for sure. Give the players something to strive for, though they got the Trish Stratus storyline right in SvR, I have to admit. That gave a sense of accomplishment, considering the matches and things you have to go through to win her.
