(And I'm mainly referring to Roy as I'm just a fan of him >_>) Point is, if they never focus on the C-list characters, that's all they'll ever be...and I guess technically you could only focus on the same few characters forever, but character development is just so much fun. The problem is that these are really, really old C-list characters who've already had multiple chances to get over. Red Arrow/Arsenal/Speedy has been around since...? Not counting Hawkgirl (who is the reincarnation of Shiera Sanders, a character from 1941) I think the newest character on that cover is Vixen, who has been around for over 25 years. If they want to push new characters, how about some new characters who are actually new? Or even new characters who have assumed old identities, like they do in JSA or they did with Kyle Rayner in the 1990s? Like maybe the new Firestorm, Flash, Aquaman or Atom? What was great about the last incarnation of the JLA was that it made the team the A-list club, and a must-read comic.

Do you have a source for this? Googling the quote will bring up hundreds of articles that use it. The book I got it from cites another secondary source so I can't give you the primary source. I already tried that and got nothing but right-wing blog posts. Given how often fake quotes circulate the internet, you'll understand why I'm skeptical.

I totally blame the news media for this. Think about it. Its mathematically impossible for 5 or 6 primaries or caucuses to determine the nominee, but the media keeps playing it that way. They give the winners of the early primaries so much coverage because they're the so-called "frontrunners" that everyone else gets drowned out to the point where they can't raise money to continue their campaign. We're already seeing that now, without a single vote being cast, with the constant focus who's ahead in the polls.

You've just summarized the next 12 months. You don't have to be a great public speaker to be a good president, but the real difference between the two is that Obama sounds like he geniunely believes what he's saying and has a real understanding of the problems of the average person, whereas Mrs. Clinton sounds like she got all of her opinions and ideas out of a briefing book. If she suceeds in winning the nomination next year, it'll be a triumph of family connections over a genuine ability to inspire people.

This show's getting dangeroulsy close to X-Files land where nothing ever actually gets explained, but they just keep piling on new unanswered questions.

I've never seen Ultimate Avengers but have always wanted to.... what is so bad about them? Bad voice acting, cliched situations, horrid dialogue, and they don't nearly live up to the comic stories they're based on.

Usually they're given just enough wiggle room to give them some plausible deniability when they move to the middle for the general election (i.e. "compassionate conservatism" and a "kinder, gentler nation"), but I don't see that happening this time. Guiliani, McCain et. al. are going to be forced to try and out-right-wing each other and defend failing policies at every turn.

Sure, that's a stupid reason to vote for someone, but by saying that your meaning is more along the lines of "isn't it about time we had a black/woman president?" The difference is that we've NEVER HAD a black or a woman president.
