Wanderlei is crying. This is the greatest moment of the year. I love this shit. EDIT: You can tell he might have been doubting himself recently, but with this win, he has proven himself to himself. The guy is just class. A savage in the ring/Octagon but the sweetest guy around. My night is made. Sherk dying is only the icing on the cake.

If Wanderlei is 31, yet looks 50. What is he going to look like when he is 50? EDIT: At least with the hair he does.

NOVICE FAN PREDICTIONS * Champ B.J. Penn vs. Sean Sherk (for lightweight title) While I, like everyone else, would love to see Penn dominate and humiliate Sherk, I do believe there is chance that if Sherk survives the first 2 rounds he may be able to eek out a decision. Sherk is stronger and may have better cardio, but Penn is better all around. So... - B.J. Penn; R2, submission * Keith Jardine vs. Wanderlei Silva Should be a fun fight. Silva always brings it and Keith is unorthodox and odd, which for me, makes a very interesting fight to watch. Having said that, I am more emotionally invested in Silva, and so i hope he ends the downward spiral. I'm going with me heart with this one. - Wanderlei Silva; R2, KO * Lyoto Machida vs. Tito Ortiz I am one of the few who love Tito, and I'm one of the few who loves watching Lyoto fight. Then again, I loved with Sherk/Franca, even if it wasn't the most exciting; I enjoy watching game-plans play out. Lyoto winning would be great because I do believe he deserves a title shot soon. Buuuutttt... nothing would please me more tonight than Tito winning, given the mic, thanking the fans and the UFC, and telling Dana to fuck off. The chances of that aren't too good, though. - Tito Ortiz; Decison * Antonio Mendes vs. Thiago Silva Euro TT vs American TT is pretty cool. I don't know much of Mendes but Thiago is a cool dude. I will always have a soft spot in my heart after killing Alexander last November. - Thiago Silva; R1, TKO * Terry Etim vs. Rich Clementi - Clementi; R3. Submisson. * Rameau Thierry Sokoudjou vs. Kazuhiro Nakamura Best case scenerio: Nakamura looking to minimize his embarrassingly awful last preformance + Sokoudjou looking to erase his humiliating loss = Sokou KO in round 1. More likely: Nakamura remains worthless, and Sokou lays and prays for a safe win. - Sokoudjou; R1, TKO * John Koppenhaver vs. Yoshiyuki Yoshida I like War Machine, but I like the idea of a juko throw KO more. Shouldn't be boring, which is a plus. - Yoshida; decision * Wilson Gouveia vs. Goran Reljic Goran may have the Houston Alexander 'Impressive Debut of the Night'. I could care less about Gouveia, so here's hoping for something exciting. -Goran Reljic; R1, submission * Rousimar Palhares vs. Ivan Salaverry Ivan Salaverry doesn't have the heart for this sport any longer. Look for him to give up an arm or leg if he's had enough. - Palhares; R1, submisson * Dong-Hyun Kim vs. Jason Tan - & - * Christian Wellisch vs. Shane Carwin I have no idea about.

Scientists: Same sex couples found in nature.

I long for the day when this tired, Jay Leno monologue-filler "joke" gets retired. I really do. I don't view the fact that some animals in the same phylum have sexual relations with the same gender as an equivilation of the species, but as proof that same-gender sex may, in fact, be natural in some animals. We being animals, and this being fact, could lead to the conclusion that homosexuality is not always (though sometimes) a choice. And if it isn't, I wouldn't feel right denying gay couples government-issued marriage licenses. If marriage was still strictly instituted through "the" church, I would back the religious yahoos 100%. But because in today's world you don't even need a church to get married through, I believe allowing gay marriage is the right thing to do. I take comfort in the fact that, 20 years from now, we will look back at this decision as the start of the widespread legalization of gay marriage.

BJ dominating, humiliating, and blooding Sherk (if it happens) will be this year's Randy Courture Memorial Feel Good Moment of the Year. EXCITED.

MMA Comments that Don't Warrant a Thread

Are UFC fighters paid by fight or do they get some sort of downsize guarantee a year like the WWE does with it's wrestlers? The reason I'm asking is because I'm wondering if those fighters, like Nog, Rampage, and Forest, prefer to fight regularly and get paid more often, or if they enjoy the time off because they can live comfortably off sponsorship money and a little sumthin'-sumthin'?

    Campaign 2008

Crazy, white preachers may be fucking racist, hateful, ignorant nutjobs, but they love America. Crazy, black preacher Rev. Wright is a racist, hateful, ignorant nutjob AND he hates America. There is a big difference there when the person associating with them is running for said country. Sad but true.

    OAO Anime/Manga Thread

So... I am an amateur manga reader, only having read a few when I was in high school. Dragonball, Ranma, Gundam 0079, and Love Hina. My other hobby during those years were video games. Especially, war-based video games like, Socom, Medal of Honor, Splinter Cell, Ghost Recon, and Full Spectrum Warrior. I was thinking today: Are there any good war based mangas out there? Comedic or serious, it doesn't really matter much as long as it's good. Also, I grew up thinking Ranma was the greatest thing ever because of its WACKINESS; what other titles would you recommend for someone who loved this series?

I feel the need to express something. I have a feeling that I'll be in the minority here and that's okay. I won't put down anyone who feels different than I, but a smile came to my face after reading that surpising note. I was as confused, angry, disappointment, and as sick as everyone else was over everything that happened last year. However, with the information that has come out regarding Chris' brain injuries and mental degeneration, I've had a hard time discounting a career of a person who, before 2005- before all craziness, was as upstanding a person this industry had ever had. The news of Chris' brain changed my opinion of him from that of an 'O.J.', an asshole who was of sound capacity when he murderered his wife- and someone whose accomplishments shouldn't be celebrated- to a more sympathetic person. Chris should never be absolved of what he did last June, because mentally deficient or not, he still committed the crimes, but from what I've read and heard the pre-November 2005 Chris Benoit was a different person. I think it's destined that one day Chris' accomplishments inside the ring will once again be recognized. Maybe not soon, but someday. But maybe my opinion just shows my own moral faults.

Nash isn't a WWE contracted wrestler, which means that the mandate doesn't apply to him. Plus, TNA didn't have a similar rule, so Nash's job wasn't in danger. There is no double standard there. Great idea for a thread, though.

Excellent show tonight. JBL/Finlay - Not what I was expecting, instead of an old school brawl, it was a new-age garbage match. **1/2 MitB - I enjoyed this match quite a bit; more than the 2nd one. Great spots, and no real slow part. **** Batista/Umaga - just there * ECW Title - 9 seconds, actually worked for the participants. 1/2* Flair/Michaels - Great story with a classic ending ***** BunnyMania - They tried. * Triple Threat - Very reminiscent of the WM22 Triple Threat in that everything felt condensed, albeit very good . The ending was perfect for the storyline. ***3/4 Mayweather/Big Show - Surprisingly, very fun. Mayweather did more than probably even LT. The media should have fun with the fact that Mayweather used brass knuckle to win the fight. ***1/4 Edge/Taker - I felt like this had the most heat, outside of the Flair match. The last 3/4ths of the match was outstanding, WrestleMania main-event caliber stuff. ****1/2

Very cool looking atmosphere, but because it's open air, the acoustics won't be great, I fear.

Really. That was pretty petty. LuckLopez's post would be on the other end of the spectrum as the most thoughtful comment in this thread. I would say Chronic traumatic encephalopathy makes this a non-fair comparision. Excellent point. No matter the circumstances, Nancy's family should be taken into account. I still don't like the idea of erasing someone from history, especially someone who was so important to the industry. Having said that, I am at ease with him not being mentioned at all out of respect for the family. I still think it's inevitable that he name will make it back at some point; nothing is forever in wrestling, it seems. Also, I find it shocking that it took 2 pages for my main point(only point?) to be addressed. The only reason I feel the way I do about Chris is because of the brain trauma that has been documented.Without addressing that apart of the arguement, this is turning into a retread of every other Benoit topic. I, now, understand why Czech was worried. Sorry, dude.

    Hi all

Damn, it's been 6 LONG years. By the way, is there any place where I can find the complete History of TSM (site and forum)? Who's the jackass who took over after Dames? I wasn't paying attention.
