SS are comic gold. Nicky screaming like a bitch every big move, Kenny dropping the Flying Squirrel Legdrop. It's not a gimmick that will hurt them in the long run of their careers. You "out grow" aspects of your life all the time. It's a simple explination away to a new gimmick. Ken Doane, "I was a Spirited youth, but now I'm older, wiser, and need to show these fans what a real talent can do. No more cheers, no more trampolines, just Ken Doane and a victim." Right now, run like the wind with it.

Batista's hair looks pretty damn shiny. I think he got a Japanese Shampoo deal that Sharmell had worked out for Booker. FIGHT~!~!

Nastiest head drops in wrestling history.
Maztinho replied to The Mandarin's topic in General Wrestling
Vader German suplexing Antonio Inoki. Sure the headdrop itself isn't as devastating of itself, but the guy was what? 98? -
Payton just can't win a title no matter where he goes. I've hated Chicago for years... YEARS! But this squad is making a Bulls fan out of me. Heat = Overrated.

RTC should have gone full blanket though and interrupted anything that went against their ideals. Like I believe RTC was around when Vince was making Trish act like a dog, or something sexually harrassing, and was thinking... "I should be hearing the Fire Alarm and seeing a NO sign on the Titantron." Make them hated by everyone equally, so the crowd goes nuts when they get taken out. Plus it was sheer genius that they pulled Ivory's pictures from the Divas website, because she objected to the exploitation. And they piledrove Chyna which wins a nice little warm spot in my heart forever.

I liked the NME too. Just without the Holly hair all over the place. Plus I mark for the Alabama Slam. That bitch, owns.

JBL/RVD... honestly I didn't see that one coming, but it's the most plausable when I think about it. HHH doesn't have to job to RVD, and Cena doesn't go full blown heel. JBL given some liberties that the ECW PPV will grant could work a nice match with Rob. Plus it gives a nice brand switch when RVD takes the title off JBL.

I can just see this mother on television, hair up in curlers, "I was in Chuck E. Cheese while my son got slapped. Slapped so hard that you could see the imprint of a man's hand on his chest!?!!?!?!? He said he was screaming for them to stop... why didn't they stop slapping my boy?" And the system does work, sissy-boy almost passes out, and doesn't want to fake-fight anymore. It would have been better if the kid damaged his kidneys hitting the ropes wrong, then his mom would be in an uproar about him being anally violated. Stupid kids.

*MV* The IWA Mid-South Class of 2005-2006

LOTUS~! I don't know why, but I dig him. I get HWA on the local cable access, and Lotus always entertains me. -
CZW Presents BEST of the BEST 6 on May 13th
Maztinho replied to UseTheSledgehammerUh's topic in General Wrestling
Daniels is the logical choice here, for Hawk's reasons. Aries would work too, in my opinion. The question is will all the CZW guys team up on the ROH guys since the field is stacked in their favor? That would get old after the first two matches. It'll be an interesting first round. -
Yeah, Japan loves the cross-over appeal in their wrestling. Brock would fair a hell of a lot better than Goldberg who IIRC was talking about fighting UFC. I guess getting owned by Jericho backstage changed that.

Yeah I hear that, Vince will definitely never allow ECW to overshadow him. But, Vince also likes to make money. And from that perspective the way to make the most money is to make ECW at least appear competitive with WWE. It's not gonna work otherwise. They can still ultimately use it as a feeder type fed for the new up and comers to get some TV time, but it has to APPEAR STRONG at the same time or else it will bomb. I'm sure many have already stated this, but if this thing is a half-assed/watered down version of ECW it's gonna bomb (although as I've posted I would tone down some of the "blood & guts", but as far as the actual wrestling is concerned it has to be ALL OUT). It the emphasis is too much on the old has beens, it's gonna bomb (with the exception of the Funker, who I hope is part of it. I am partial to that crazy son of a bitch!). I know people have become disenchanted with what is shown on TV (I actually don't feel this way because I guess I'm easily amused/entertained. LOL!), and for the sake of the business this could be exactly what the doctor ordered if done right. From WWE's perspective, I see no hurt in at least trying it out, if it bombs, who really cares? It's not gonna cost Vince THAT much money (relatively speaking of course) to start up ECW again. He already has the ring leader on his payroll, he's got the ring (for ONS II), he has a decent portion of the proposed talent already on his payroll, etc. The startup costs and costs of running the progamming has to be small compared to the potential profit it could make. I agree with this. It may or may not happen, but if Vince allows Heyman freedom to present the product he wants then I see this as nothing but a positive thing. People complaining about this not being the true ECW because there won't be any Dudleys or Ravens or the like need to see that they aren't indispensable. Of course, this new venture needs all the help it can get from former ECW mainstays to get it going, but we can't possibly expect all of them to remain forever, or else ECW would stand for Elderly Championship Wrestling. They absolutely need to create new stars that represent the ECW spirit more than anything else. Violence, blood, etc. is all fine from a controlled standpoint but that's not what ECW should stand for. It should stand for exciting wrestling (not WWE style) with people that are allowed to go all out with their abilities but perhaps toning down the garbage style just a little bit for it to be mostly accepted by the mainstream. In other words, ECW needs to evolve somewhat in order for it to be successful. And as far as complaints on this new ECW becoming a feeding fed for WWE I see no problem in that, since this has always been true back years ago. Why wouldn't some ECW breakout star be allowed the opportunity to shine in WWE? There are some exceptions but I think most guys that went from ECW to WCW or WWE/F achieved greater stardom (and financial success) on the bigger leagues. The Extreme can be cutting edge wrestling style, not necessarily hardcore style. I agree that some hybrid of stellar matwork with a little of the Southern Brawling that ECW did so well is what is needed. ECW being a feeder would work well for creative purposes, JBL goes off on the newest call-up saying ECW "Is, was, and will always be trash, and you come from trash. You're not in my league, get out of my ring." The ECW guy smiles, and takes it to JBL sparking a feud. I could really see this with Brent Albright slapping the Crowbar on JBL out of nowhere. Going the other way, an ECW guy could taunt someone who got "sent down." It's good for business all around. ECW is the E's Triple A team. Plus if a roster gets wiped from injuries the WWE doesn't need as much time hyping up people to replace them. Just bring up a hot star from ECW.

JOHNNY~!~!~!~!~! Now where's Mitch getting his Umagaing? That's how hazing should be done. With cursing in accents and Cena in his own t-shirt in the background.

The only problem with that gif is that it doesn't show Test selling it like a million bucks. Steiner was GOD AWFUL during his solo run in the WWE. While is work with Test was somewhat watchable, it wasn't anything to be debating as great or proving that he can work a decent match. Steiner is a great character, and the way that TNA has been using him lately has hidden alot of his weaknesses as a wrestler since WCW died, but he isn't a good worker. He could be if his head was in the match the whole time, but I think that train has passed him a while back. Styles and him would have a chuckle worthy match that would end in botched spot a mania and internet people laughing at it for years. Or Steiner would revert to pre-roid form and actually put on a decent match and it would be considered the best Big Man-Small Man match of the year. It's a crap shoot really.

Orton in TNA is stupid, since he would be the same blah character over there. They just got a big name WWE guy jumped ship and put the NWA title on him. Orton wouldn't be the top heel since Jarrett has that under a stranglehold, and TNA's matches are no longer than WWE matches really, with half the TV time. Orton wouldn't be able to develop at all. A run in New Japan might help, but since as it was stated earlier in the thread Orton doesn't seem to want to take any sort of chances in the ring, wrestling King's Road style wouldn't go in his favor. All Japan might work though... maybe.

As retired Senior Citizens don't they get Social Security thus lessening the burden on yourself? I got three mouths to feed, and like most people I take shit from my boss all the time. Mick walked out in protest for the next RAW, and contemplated not working for the WWF anymore. So he didn't flip-flop, he just reacted, and then thought things over.

I don't know if him pouring the candle wax on himself or calling himself Kevin Spacey and then being in the shower was more EMO. Either way, this rocks.
-
I was thinking that myself. Him non-chalantly leaning up against the diapers was even more bizarre. "I'm James Mitchell... I've got creepy eyebrows and these diapers behind me are not going to deter from that."

Warrior doesn't even have the look of a wrestler anymore. He wouldn't draw flies. Although the "train wreck" aspect of the match could be interesting. I'm betting that Lugar is on the Speed Dial... Kina help us all.

CLAWHOLD STO!!!! It's a shame that he might not be coming back. I loved his stuff. Goofy bastard that he was. Godwinn back? Why in the hell? The retro thing has gone too far.

Bret Hart confirms he will not be at WrestleMania
Maztinho replied to Enigma's topic in The WWE Folder
You do realise that the Road Warriors where a bigger draw than the Rockers could ever have hoped to be? So how could Micheals pass the torch in tag wrestling to a team that held the torch from the beginning? Back to the subject at hand. Bret Hart has held this bitterness and anger for a long time. When he should really be upset at Goldberg for scrambling his brains by being sloppy. Everyone was wrong in 97. Everyone. The fans, Vince, Bret, HBK, Hebner, we all have blood on our hands. It's one of those wrestling things that will never go away because it shocked us. It was the point where kayfabe and reality got blurred for a lot of people, and I think that leaves a mark. Bret will show up, do his speach, and sit down. Nothing memorable will happen, and wrestling will go on forever. The debate will still fuel because people have nothing better to talk about than something that happened a decade ago. -
One day we will turn on RAW and it'll be JR sitting there with the announcement that you can listen to Styles on HEAT. This isn't good news for Styles at all. I really think that he was allowed to play off one guy and one guy alone he'd shine so much brighter. It seems to me that King and Coach just bicker for all of RAW and Styles puts a comment in hear and there. It kills any character he might have.

You probably where like me and got turned off by his weird leather jacket/LOD shoulder pad thing they had him wear. Plus he was wrestling under the name Fit Finlay which was sort of jobberish. Finlay just stiffing people left and right owns the world though. Too bad they won't let him bust out his wicked cool tombstone.

Count The Naturals out with Steiner doing Andy Douglas all kinds of wrong on Impact. I'd go with the Diamonds in the Rough, since they have a cool gimmick, Simon Diamond is getting into some sort of pushed angle with the Black Sox so they could get main stream appeal.
