  1. Jays came sooooo close to tying the game in the 8th. Glaus almost hit a fly ball in the exactly right place for Ordonez to drop it and let Vernon Wells score, but he was stranded at third with the score 10-9. Todd Jones will probably come in to pitch the 9th, though, so there's still hope.
  2. "YOU CAN PUTITONTHEBOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOARD...YYYYYES!!"
  3. I am so screwed for pitching this week. I don't have a single IP recorded yet.
  4. First tiebreaker is wins. Montreal cannot be caught in that category by anyone trailing them. The guys doing the game for MSG were wrong, though, as the Isles are still alive.
  5. I could certainly listen to Gary Thorne and Buck Martinez all year. If Buck isn't the best colour guy around right now, he's pretty close.
  6. ISLES WIN! but are eliminated from the playoffs. Still three playoff spots open in the East. Tampa and the Rangers can both clinch with one more point.
  7. Great finish on Long Island, as the Rangers and Islanders played a furious OT to get to a shootout. The crowd is very pro-Rangers. Kudos to the music guy in Nassau Coliseum who played "Let's Get Rocked" by Def Leppard, which I haven't heard in 15 years.
  8. Great clutch hit by J-Bar to to score J-Tyn and give the Twins the lead.
  9. I just got MLB Extra Innings, and I'm trying to follow six games at once. It's almost too much. I can't even imagine if I was trying to follow any of the five games on NHL Centre Ice or the four games on NBA League Pass.
  10. I wouldn't have known about it if not for FJM, but John Kruk disagreeing with Ozzie pulling Jose Contreras after giving up seven runs on eight hits in one plus innings because "it's early and he needs to get his work in" was pretty ridiculous.
  11. It's going to be a looooooooong season for the Nationals.
  12. Geez, the Sens/Devils game is on PPV around here. Who in their right mind would pay to watch a Devils game on TV?
  13. Jack Bauer Simon Adebisi Angelus MacGyver
  14. Southern fried chicken, baby back ribs, beef brisket and smoked sausage are on Lefty's champions' dinner menu. Sure beats the haggis that Sandy Lyle served the year after he won.
  15. EDIT: OK, it's already been posted. She's still 40, though.
  16. I wouldn't take anyone that doesn't have a good shot at making the conference final with the first pick. That rules out the Lightning and the Rangers. I'd consider them with a later pick, though.
  17. True, but it's not like any offseason thread for other sports were ever pinned. There's enough traffic in this thread that it'll stay near the top anyway. On another topic, are we doing the mock draft again this year?
  18. 39th. Just completely fell apart from the Elite 8 onward.
  19. Everyone thought Tim Duncan was crazy for staying at Wake Forest, too. I really think there's a possibility Oden could come back -- it would fit his personality (or what I've seen of it). Durant, no chance.
  20. Me neither. The Teddy Pendergrass version was much better. Although either one is better than what they used to do...I was watching the end of the 1983 NC State-Houston championship game on YouTube, and the highlights were set to "Think We're Gonna Make It" by Christopher Cross.
  21. Because it's not football season anymore?
  22. Based on this game, I put Oden returning for his sophomore year as only a 3:2 underdog.
  23. Actually, they're pretty fun. I won my pool at work two years running before I switched jobs. I'd probably go with Kariya or Selanne first, although Briere would be another good pick.
  24. It's like shooting fish in a barrel, so I'll only pick one from Mister Dubya: "Too many good docs are getting out of the business. Too many OB-GYNs aren't able to practice their love with women all across this country."
  25. Furyk never does particularly well at Augusta, for whatever reason. Only three top-10s in 10 appearances. Call me crazy, but I think I'm sticking with that Tiger fellow.
