Also look at Hurricane and then look at HBK? The size thing really is bullshit. If Helms can get over with the silly superhero gimmick (which I really like, and hope he keeps for a while), than he can get over with pretty much anything. (IMO of course)

You hit it right on the head there.
-
Now, let's see, it's a match between one of the biggest stars ever, and the promoter. Who do YOU blame? And besides, ratings have been dropping across the board for some time now, if I'm not mistaken. I don't think all that can be blamed on Hogan either. The biz is like a yo-yo, honestly; sometimes you're up, sometimes you're down. Hey, I'm not trying to say that it AIN'T partly Hogan's fault, but don't paint him to look like some schmuck who causes people to change the channel in droves; it's not JUST him. Actually I blame them both but that's just me. I know a lot of people who love Hogan no matter what he does. Personally I would rather have both Hogan and McMahon off of my TV, and I do change the channel whenever either of them come on.

What willl most likely happen is another bullshit sequence where Austin and JR jack each other off while Austin throttles Coach for no good reason except to remind everyone that JR is the King of Announcers in the WWE and everyone else is dogshit.... Meanwhile I turn the channel to anything else because I'm tired of non-wrestling segments dominating RAW.
-
Okay seriously if this is true so what? We are talking about a television show, image is everything. If the WWE brass wants to have someone more photogenic on air, that is entirely their perogitive(sp?). Am I wrong in assuming that most people feel like J.R. really isn't what he used to be as far as calling the matches? I for one am tired of his over the top crapola and of him talking about the main event of the night in every stinking match.

# here is talk of holding off on the Brock Lesnar vs. Kurt Angle one-on-one match until WrestleMania. If the company does decide to go in this direction, it's expected that Brock Lesnar will be taking on Vince McMahon at Summer Slam. worst idea ever

Yeah, she's hot but I still turn the channel when she is on. Like I really want to see her all over Vince..

More Angle/Benoit, less Big Show/Albert
Crimson Platypus replied to syxx2001's topic in The WWE Folder
To me it's the little things that wrestlers do in a match that makes it watchable. A spot fest is only interesting the first few times you watch it. But if the wrestlers are playing to the crowd, arguing with the ref, cheating in a new way, stuff like that.. That's when I get into a match. That is also why right now Eddie is my favorite wrestler. Watch him in a tag match when he is on the outside. He works a match better from the outside of the ring than most wrestlers do inside. -
No one has mentioned the TPB The Nail yet? One of the best storys I have ever read.
-
So am I the only person that likes the new belt? Not that it is better than the old one, or the best belt around, but it has a certain uniqueness(is that a word?) about it that I like..

Spinebuster, backbreaker, sidewalk slam, etc etc.. It's not TBS that is limited, it's the WWE Style. Personally I am a fan of TBS and have never understood the hate he gets. Still I would rather see Angle/Benoit for the reasons listed in the posts above me. Workrate, psychology, etc. -
How about Brian Pillman? Sadly I have never seen a single Pillman match, was "away" from wrestling for pretty much his whole run..
-
Is this sarcasm or do you just like big women? Seriously I have always thought she was hot.. until that match. That might have been the most unflattering (is that a word?) outfit ever. She looked like 200lbs of ground beef stuffed into a 150lb bag.

So when a baseball team signs a free agent he should be allowed to play any more games with his previous team? Or any other business? Sorry but it's just simply bad business to allow your employee to work for another company.
-
What do you mean by that?
-
Sadly he used to do lots of moves, but for whatever reason he no longer does. (wwe style)
-
He is just using the WWE style.
-
Doesn't look too bad really. As long as Hogan and Vince are not on I will be sure to watch. TBDTTP is quickly becomming one of my favorite teams. PLEASE please please keep them together WWE! Rey Mysterio vs. Nunzio for the Cruiserweight Title could be pretty sweet giving the time and the freedom to go all out.

I stopped watching WCW because of Goldberg. I'm not saying he is the reason for the companies downfall or anything like that, but he certainly killed all interest I had in the company. I am willing to forgive a lot of things (David Arquette). The thing that I simply can not deal with as far as Goldberg is concerned is the fact that he is just not a good wrestler. I have never understood the appeal of the Spear - Jackhammer - yell with tongue out - 1, 2, 3 match. It does nothing at all for me. For the record, I don't hate Goldberg, I just hate his "style" (read as: squash).
-
I think most people on this board just wouldn't have brought Goldberg in to start with. If I brought him in, I would have done it as a one-time-only deal and have him put over either Brock or Austin, just because the buyrate on an Austion-FGB match would be enormous. But imagine how big it would have been 3 or 4 years ago? Goldberg's not interested in WWE buyrates, only himself.
-
Nope, the only way I would have ever signed him was if he went to OVW and learn 5 moves other than Spear and Jackhammer. Hell I'd be happy it the five moves were bodyslam, suplex, clothesline, ddt, and spinebuster. Since he would never "lower" himself to learning how to do what he would be getting paid to do, he would never have agreed to that contract.

Nothing irrational about it. He sucks in the ring, can't cut a promo to save his life, only got over in the first place because he was given squash match after squash match. He also doesn't give a shit about the business and thinks IT owes HIM, hence his unreasonable demands for salary and creative control--in that sense he's a product of the Hogan/Nash run WCW locker room. He also was partly responsible for Bret Hart's forced retirement. Plus, Goldberg getting paid huge to suck ass week after week hurts morale even more. He's also fucked up booking constantly with his bitching, like the Insurrextion PPV needed to be booked and rebooked because of him. He buys into his hype so much that he can't stand being a heel or even being booed. He's a living example of why WCW is dead. Fuck Goldberg. Preach on. But.. for me personally it's mostly the simple fact that he is terrible in the ring. I have never understood the appeal of a wrestler that comes in, spear - jackhammer - yell - 1, 2, 3. Just simply pointless and boring IMO. The whole not in love with the business thing I don't really care about. But it definately shows in his work ethic (none) and lack of desire to make everyone look better, which as we all know makes him look better too. Blah.

I thought someone said he was Pyro?
-
So no Ultimo at all? Lame.

My thoughts exactly. The WWE style limiting wrestlers is exactly the opposite of what the fans want to see.
