Good thing I saved my points!

The Lakers certainly do like to make it interesting, don't they?

Mine came with the bonus disc, too. I got more than my $5 worth out of the game. I still haven't played online. Last time I played, I was stuck on the Kevin Nash match in story mode.

I finally finished my first regular season with the Kings. It took me 4 months rather than 3 weeks as in NHL 08, but I have a lot more games now (Fallout owns my soul) and a lot less free time. I finished with 98 points (40-24-18), good for 7th best in the NHL, 4th in the Western Conference, and 2nd in the Pacific Division behind Anaheim. I beat the Sharks in LA in the final game to take the 4 seed and home ice in my opening round playoff series against San Jose. The thing that sucks is that, while I started my season on All-Star and switched to Pro after I went into a funk, I still can't score on All-Star like I used to. I switched back and went 1-3-1. I lose by 1 goal almost every time, but it's always 1-0 or 2-1. I can score online on the All-Star difficulty. It's so frustrating.

Is anyone else watching Capitals/Penguins? Lots of offense already, as it's 3-2 Caps early in the 2nd period. This is one of the few times I've gotten to see Crosby, Malkin, or Ovechkin in action. I watched the finals last season so I saw the Penguins play, and I watched 2 of their games this year. The only 2 times I had seen Ovechkin play before this were the 2 games Washington played against the Kings this season.

It's in Mexicans' genes to root for the Raiders.

If only I had a capable recording device. My 4 year old digital camera with limited memory records a whopping 33 seconds of video. Maybe if I rushed it. It'd be hard to top Brody, though.

Just got back from Kings/Coyotes 45 minutes ago. Such a disappointing game. Both teams started slowly, but after Phoenix scored their third goal, it was all downhill. Final was 6-3, one of Phoenix's 6 being an empty netter. That empty netter was also Jokinen's third of the afternoon. The Kings quite simply have to win against teams like Phoenix to have a shot at the playoffs. I don't know what the team's problem is, but they've been playing like shit at home lately.

Yeah. I don't know the Sharks' players' names, but it happened. I guess the mistake was due to the referee's angle, and they don't have the benefit of the multiple replays we have at home- at least not on that sort of play. But I didn't realize it had happened recently prior to this instance.

Yeah, that Stoll high sticking penalty where the other Shark did the high sticking was especially bad. The result was nothing surprising, though, given the opposition along with the fact that Quick had the night off. It was a tight game until halfway through when the Sharks scored a couple quick ones, but overall the game was a solid 60 minutes of high quality hockey from both teams. Hopefully the Kings will have better luck on Saturday when I go to see them play Phoenix at Staples Center. One thing that bugged me about tonight's game was that NHL Center Ice showed the standard def feed. Why do that when there was a perfectly good HD feed coming from the same channel? I want to see my team in high definition. The Kings/Ducks game last night was the last of 10 HD broadcasts of Kings games this season. TEN. All the Lakers games on FS West are in HD. Why not the Kings games, too?

Gauthier being a shitty defenseman is in some ways a misnomer. He's better than quite a few of the players who get played as the 6th defensemen currently in the league. I don't see any reason to dislike Army or Calder, so I'm assuming you post or read a Kings messageboard somewhere out there. I have over 6500 posts at HFboards, but I don't buy into the mob mentality. There's some players I dislike. I'm sure they aren't players any Kings fan would mention either. Ersberg's one of them. Calder's been good ever since being put on a line with Stoll and Brown. Good enough to make me wonder if we should bring him back on the cheap next year. I'll admit, my friend who got me into hockey as well as the Kings message board I go to kind of hammered that mentality into my head, yes. Also, the NHL 08 and 09 video games. Calder and Armstrong aren't horrible; it's just that those guys and Gauthier are weak links. Ersberg, I certainly don't hate, but he's been shit since returning from injury a while back. Anyhow, it may have been posted in here, but DirecTV/Dish/Time Warner are having a free preview of Center Ice. I hope the Kings game isn't blacked out.

So do the Bulls cut Tim Thomas again?

This is a little late, but that Kings game on Monday was... well, it was something. They only ended up losing in the shootout and got a point out of it, but the Kings shouldn't be allowing 7 goals to fucking Atlanta, especially 3 in the first 9 minutes. It wasn't really Quick's fault, either; the team was playing like ass for half the game. It's like they play up or down to their opponent's level depending on who they're facing. Also, I know Terry Murray shuffles the lines around seemingly on a game by game basis, but why the hell is Denis Gauthier on the first line? Yes, he did score a goal- his first in over 3 years- but he's such a shitty defenseman. With Cloutier and LaBarbera gone, Gauthier, Armstrong, and Kyle Calder are really the only players on the team I dislike.

Fuck yeah! My favorite wrestler is now an 8 time combined WWE/World Champion. I still think that his 3-4 week title reigns are bullshit, but I can't complain when he wins them.
-
Bah gawd, 13 times!
-
Oh shit; Kozlov has been pinned! BUT BAH GAWD THE RUSSIAN IS STILL UNBEATEN IN SINGLES COMPETITION!
-
What the fuck? Edge out first? And he has YET ANOTHER 3 week title reign. He's like the WWE version of WCW Jeff Jarrett with world titles.

Smackdown EC opens again. Surprising, in a way, due to Raw's EC lacking big names.

I had a nice hockey overtime doubleheader today. I went to LA to see a very good game in which the Kings really controlled the game the last 2/3 of the way (missed period 1 anyway due to traffic) but lost 3-2 after dropping a shootout. Then te Reign beat the Las Vegas Wranglers in overtime, 2-1, in my night cap in Ontario.

The Kings are on fire right now. The Islanders gave a scare last night, but the Kings finished up their road trip 4-1 and are now 3 points out of a playoff spot after winning 7 of 8.

I've been busy, but this is too complicated for me to figure out who's left and ranked where to make a successful pick. It's constant checking and re-checking of past picks and keepers. There has to be a simpler way. Worthless. I take it getting a magazine and circling the guys that have been selected/kept is too challenging. A whole 20 minutes of work. Matt Young is out. We are ahead of schedule big time right now so I'm going to pause the drafting until we get a new manager. Can a mod real quick toss up the 1 spot available in the thread subtitle. The new manager will get to inherit Matt Young's single correct pick of Alex Rodriguez, and they will need to select a 2nd, 3rd, and 4th round pick and then be ready for the 5th round pick which will occur after JHawk's picks. Wow... Way to treat the players like crap. Not all of us can afford to spend $10 on a magazine of all things, and yet because your draft setp is an unorganized mess, the blame is placed on the first time player who is confused. Wow... just wow.
