Who knows, maybe Kaeding wanted in on the right. Actually, if you looked at it, it seemed like the hold was just a little bit off, angling the ball enough to the right for the kick to miss. Either way, I'm just happy it happened. That roughing the passer penalty was about the most sickening feeling you can get, but the feeling after the missed kick was just as strong in the opposite direction.

Fuck yeah! Jets pull it out! I really felt like they were dead there on that Chargers drive, but they're going to the second round now.
-
Why do they have to treat every review like they can't tell what happened. That's such an obvious catch that one look at the replay should be more than sufficient.
-
YES! Kaeding missed it! The Jets are alive and well baby. I nominate this game for best badly played game in NFL history.
-
God damn it, this just pisses me off so much. The game was fucking over, and then we have dipshit hitting Brees in the helmet.
-
Damn, I'm getting some big time deja vu here. Montana did the exact same thing against James Madison a few weeks ago to lose the I-AA Championship. Well, they were down three instead of ahead, but it was the same stupid roughing the passer on 4th down inside the 10.
-
Well, it's a good game anyway.
-
I would have kicked it there. You get about a 50/50 chance of winning the game on the spot, and the difference between a missed FG and the punt is only a 22 yards. Also, if the Chargers do get a TD here, the Jets probably won't have time to get a score of their own in regulation. Not that Brees is likely to lead a game tying TD drive in the playoffs anyway, but I think the kick is the right call there.

12 men on the field?! That's awesome, and at the same time, absolutely hilarious. The Chargers are fucking idiots and we're reaping all the benefits.
-
It's too early to say this one's definitively over, but when the other team leaves 10 players on the field twice in a row, and you still can't convert in the red zone, things aren't looking good for you.

Like I said, looks like the Jets will be headed to Pittsburgh. And actually, even if the miracle happened, I think someone on here said that with the four division system, two teams from the same division can't play in the 2nd round. I don't know if it's true or not, but I did see it posted.

Huge FG there, clanging in off the upright. The way the defense has been playing, and the way the Jet offense has been controlling the ball, I really don't think San Diego can come back from down two possessions. Looks to me like the Jets will be heading to Pittsburgh next week for a date with the Steelers.

Hells yeah! Santana up top for 6. The Jets really are a lot better team than anybody gives them credit for. They do a ball-control thing, kinda like the Steelers, but they can still score when they need to, and their defense is tremendous. They're not quite as good as the Steelers or Pats right now, but they're more complete than the Chargers or Colts, and there's no reason that they couldn't make the Super Bowl with a couple lucky breaks. J-E-T-S, Jets, Jets, Jets!

Madden yeah its every other sentence but Al is a) trying to control John b) hasn't said one stupid thing tonight. I included Michaels because I posted it right after the booth review where they froze the play twice showing the ball on the ground, and while it was frozen, he said something like, well at first glance it appears that it might be an incompletion. I will definitely agree that Madden is the primary offender, though.

How is St. Louis/Philly going to be a good game? The Eagles will show their typical early-round dominance, and they'll probably beat St. Louis 34-10. At least today, the game was close, and we all got to enjoy the Seahawks' collapse.
-
This game's reminding me how much I hate Al Michaels and John Madden. They'll make at least four or five comments that are remarkably stupid for every one they make that's moderately intelligent.
-
That was some bullshit on that Chargers' "touchdown." By the time he had possession, both feet were clearly off the ground. I don't know if it's homefield or what, but that should definitely have been an incompletion.
-
I'll even agree with that. There's no way that the Jackets can win at Chapel Hill without BJ Elder. UNC has been absolutely tremendous lately, and I'd say they have to be the favorite to win the ACC in the regular season. With that being said, I can still see them getting knocked off by Gonzaga or someone similiar in a 1 vs. 4 game. The Tar Heels have tons of talent, but I still think the Elite 8's about the limit for them.

The Jets have been well above expectations this year, so I'm going to remain optomistic until the end, but I do think Abraham being out's pretty big. When you're going against LaDanain Tomlinson, and a QB who still might make mistakes under pressure, you kind of want to have the anchor of your D-line in the game.
-
That was a good game to watch the last two minutes of. I think it had to be blatantly obvious to everyone that the Seahawks would blow it as soon as it got to crunch time. And tomorrow I get to go back over to Washington and laugh at all the Seahawks fans too. Of course, I won't be able to laugh too loud unless the Jets pull it out tonight.

I was thinking more along the lines of when he spearheaded the effort to intentionally lose games to get Byron Scott fired, and then made sure they won 12 in a row after he left to "prove" that the coach was the problem. I guess it's not a case of not wanting to win with him, but rather that it's a very low priority behind stabbing people in the back that annoy you.

I think that for the most part it goes by the sport. NHL players for example, almost without exception judge their whole career by winning a Cup, and put it ahead of any and all individual achievements. NBA players on the other hand, can barely be bothered to stick their hands up when someone's shooting a jumper. I think that if Jason Kidd could make his current salary including endorsements to play video games, he'd never step on a basketball court again.

Alabama absolutely will be a force in the SEC next year. They had the second best defense in the country, and they were in every game they played into the fourth quarter. The only reason they didn't win any of those games was that they had nobody that could produce at the QB position after Brodie Croyle went down. If you watched the Music City Bowl, you would have seen the whole team make big play after big play in crunch time, but then Pennington would overthrow a receiver or just miss an open receiver completely whenever they had a chance to score. Almost everybody's coming back next year, and as long as Brodie Croyle stays healthy, they should be a 9 or 10 win team and a strong contender if not favorite to win the SEC.

Sorry, the Shaft look's the only way to go as far as I'm concerned. CJ would just be gay without an afro and aviators.

Wake Forest isn't just a non-glamour team in the ACC. They actually went 1-7 in the conference. As for who should do well next year, Va. Tech will be absolutely stacked with Marcus Vick coming back to play QB, and almost every other position returning starters. They should meet Florida State for the conference championship. I've actually been thinking a lot about what will happen next year and here's what I came up with: ACC: Virginia Tech over Florida State SEC: Alabama over Florida Big XII: Kansas State over Texas Big East: Louisville Big Ten: Michigan Pac-10: California BCS at-larges: USC and Texas I think with all the talent that Texas has coming back, they'll finally break the jinx against Oklahoma, but Mack Brown will still find a way to blow their conference championship. USC won't be able to win at Berkley, but with their preseason #1 ranking, they'll move back into the mix when Cal slips up somewhere else along the line. The national title game will then likely be 11-0 Michigan against 10-1 USC, and with a month to prepare for the bowl game yet again, Carroll will make a tremendous gameplan and the Trojans will win their third straight title at home in the Rose Bowl 38-24.
