  1. Well, I did call for Dama's banning after he said he changed the channel with OU down 21-7, and I think we could all use a little vacation from him. Given that he actually asked for the banning, and has been basically annoying the whole forum all year, why don't we let him keep his wish, and let him stay banned for at least a couple weeks. If the Eagles make the NFC Championship, you could bring him back the day before the game or something.
  2. Well, it's too bad that USC's only playing the fourth best team in the country in the national championship game, but I still think they're proving who's #1. There's no way that Auburn or Utah would have been able to play with them tonight. This looks like the real top 5: 1. USC 2. Auburn 3. Utah 4. Oklahoma 5. Louisville
  3. Fuck running the ball. USC just hit another bomb, and they're about to make it 45-10.
  4. Oh, don't worry. I'm enjoying the game plenty. My $100 is my prime concern here; Dama's just a bonus.
  5. The definition of fairweather fan, my fellow board members. Damaramu should be banned from the sports forum after this revolting display.
  6. Nah, USC's taking care of one undefeated tonight. Auburn shoud have to play Utah first before they get the title shot.
  7. Jason White always screws up mentally when he's playing against a good defense. The same thing happened against Kansas State and LSU and Texas. Some people just aren't good clutch performers.
  8. Quick question to the board here. Did anyone besides Dama not know that Jason White would start throwing picks as soon as there was a little bit of pressure?
  9. It's only fair that we get the satisfaction of OU losing after months of hearing Dama go off. We took his shit, and now we'll get our moment in the sun. This is like Benoit beating HHH at Wrestlemania or something.
  10. 14-7 Trojans bitches! If Stoops is such a great coach, why didn't he ever mention to the punt return team that you don't pick up the ball inside of the five with three defenders within three yards of you.
  11. Good luck getting USC's corners to fall down again. Enjoy it while you can.
  12. OK, I did it. I put $100 on USC. Given that, I really don't even feel like thinking about why OU might win right now, although Lendale White not being 100% makes it a little less of a slam dunk than it might otherwise be. Also, if anyone's interested OU's gone all the way from a three point underdog to a one point favorite.
  13. That song's actually funny as shit. It reminds me of the "Say Go, Say Cougs" song that was going through Pullman at the beginning of the year. They try to act cool, but then they don't want to say any bad words, and they end up saying silly "go team" kind of stuff instead. The "Boomer Sooner" yell was the best part of the song. That was fucking awesome.
  14. I think the city of Louisville should just get down on their knees and thank god any year that Petrino decides to stay. How often does any mid-major get to 11-1, finish in the top ten (possibly even top five), and keep their coach at the end of the season. It happens once every ten years, tops.
  15. OK! What an exciting showdown! We have the best team in the country, unstoppable 12-0 Auburn getting a chance to show just how good they are against... a two-loss team who lost to NC State before finally cracking the top ten at the end of the season. Gotta love the bowl system.
  16. OK, there's no way the Vikings or Seahawks win next week. They've both tried as hard as they could to blow their playoff berths for the last month and a half, and now that they made it, they're not going to stay any longer than they have to. Meanwhile, GB and St. Louis will both be overmatched on the road in the divisional round, and Atlanta and Philly will make it to the NFC Championship. I think the Jets can actually pull off the upset in San Diego the way their defense has been playing, especially given how young the Chargers are. Meanwhile, Denver stands no chance in the RCA dome where Indy should run up 40 or 50. Of course on the road, Peyton and Co. are unlikely to fare any better against New England than they did last year, and the Jets already showed they aren't good enough to win in Pittsburgh. That leaves us with Atlanta/Philadelphia and New England/Pittsburgh. With the TO injury, Philly's gonna start buying into the hype again for the NFC Championship, and McNabb will likely throw 3 or 4 picks in the loss. Meanwhile, I think New England still has another gear that they haven't shown all year. They were Super Bowl champs before Corey Dillon, and I think that when it's all on the line, they'll find a way to beat Pittsburgh. Of course, Atlanta vs. New England should be one of the most lopsided Super Bowls since the Bills/Cowboys days but what can you do. It'll look good for Vick just to be there this early in his career, and the Patriots will be the first back-to-back champs of the parity era.
  17. Since we're kind of looking ahead now, I think Texas and Michigan should both be tremendous next year. Vince Young really grew up over the course of the season, and actually looked like (gasp) a very good QB against Michigan. I don't really think that losing Cedric Benson will hurt them much, because they've got four of their five starters on the line coming back, and the line got Benson about 90% of those yards anyway. His backup averaged 10.5 yards per carry. Meanwhile, the defense loses Derrick Johnson, but also returns nine starters. Honestly, for Oklahoma to beat Texas next year, I think Adrian Peterson has to run for 300 yards minimum. Not to say that won't happen, but if I ever thought Texas might beat Oklahoma, next year would be the time for it. Meanwhile, Mike Hart's going to be awesome next year, and Henne will be a lot better too. The Wolverines should have the talent to finally break through in the Rose Bowl next year unless they get stuck going against a one-loss USC team or something.
  18. I still think Georgia Tech will be back in the Final Four when the tournament rolls around, but they've been driving me crazy lately. First, there was that Gonzaga game where I was sure they had it, and then they blow a 16 point lead to Kansas, and lose 70-68 in OT. Granted, they only did that is that BJ Elder went down, and Kansas was absolutely unconscious from beyond the arc, but it's still kind of eating at me a little bit. That inbounds play at the end was terrible, as they really needed to have Bynum as another option, so that they didn't have to force the throw to Jack. The Jackets are still playing really good basketball, but they're not quite at the level they were during the tournament last year.
  19. For some reason, I really hate the idea of Cena/JBL as the Smackdown main event. JBL still screams piece of shit transitional champion to me, and he still would if he held the title for four years. He brings down the prestige of the title, rather than the title helping him. They just need to abort his reign before they get to the biggest show of the year. Cena, meanwhile still works as a mid-level face, and he could even main event another PPV, but the last thing he needs is to be pushed as the top star on both shows by winning the Rumble and main eventhing Wrestlemania. His stale character needs a heel turn more than it needs to be pushed to the sky. If Vince were smart he'd just bring in Brock to put a band-aid on the Smackdown ME scene, rather than trying to push this shit that no one likes.
  20. Rock, even though he isn't around anymore, is more bulletproof than anyone. Ah yes, that's right. Rock is totally bulletproof, which was why he could put over Jericho in 2001 without blinking. Good call. How come when Rock has a months-long feud with Jericho in which he never gets pinned clean once, but he pins Jericho multiple times including once with a DDT, he gets credit for being the bigger man, but Undertaker can put over Brock clean eight different times and he gets no credit at all. That's one thing I never got. Until Rock started making movies, he hadn't put over anybody clean in four years. In fact, if he'd been sticking around, I wouldn't have put it past him to refuse to job to Brock at Summerslam. When you go four years without a clean loss, it's a lot easier to be "bulletproof" than it is when you're getting pinned clean on television every other week.
  21. Sorry, I meant the South. I edited it before I saw your reply, but after you saw what I wrote. Anyway, OSU was pathetic tonight, and I think somewhat inidicative of the conference as a whole. Tennessee would run circles around A&M if Ainge were healthy, and I'm starting to think that Texas could even lose to Michigan.
  22. Texas Tech will score some points, but Cal's probably gonna run up 50 or 60 on the Red Raider defense. I think Cal will come out motivated to show that the Big XII is a joke, which it really is. The vaunted South will probably end up at 1-4 this bowl season.
  23. I just want to say as someone who's a huge fan of HBK, a moderate fan of HHH, and as someone who thinks that the original HBK/HHH match at Summerslam was the best match in the last ten years, that that post was hilarious. It had me laughing out loud in at least three or four spots.
  24. Oh, I could have told you that ND would get beaten pretty solidly before the game. OSU was quite a bit better to begin with, and teams almost always play shitty in their bowl game after losing a coach. When the players have to hold a vote to see if they'll go to the bowl game, it's usually a sign that they won't be too well-motivated. By, the way, here's the interesting statistic of the day. ND has lost their last seven bowl games, dating all the way back to 1994. I had no idea it was that bad until I watched the broadcast tonight.
  25. I love people who like to act superior about how they don't drink. "Well, the last time I went to a party, I only drank three beers, and I had a good time, so if you wanted to have eight drinks, that makes you an irresponsible fucktard, and by all means the school should devote all their resources to trying to get you arrested." Why do you care? Why can't you just chill out, and be like "Ok, I don't drink much, but if somebody else wants to, that's fine. As long as they're not endangering people on the road, or being ridiculously obnoxious, I'll just mind my own business." What's with all this support for these stupid regulations. If it were up to me, I'd make the drinking age the same as it is in Germany. 14 for beer and 16 for liquor. By all means, if you kill someone driving drunk, you should be jailed for negligent homicide, but the 21 year old drinking age serves no practical purpose.
