Who in MMA do you hate, and why?
Cuban Linx replied to Burning Pirate Ship Sex's topic in Mixed Martial Arts
Cheick Kongo. The stupid fist pump he does 1000 times before every fight, thinking he deserves a title shot despite generally looking like shit every fight, his laughably bad ground game, Tim Sylvia may be gone but the spirit of boring tall guys stinking up the joint lives on with Kongo. Also Patrick Cote, but after UFC 90 he'll be dead so i won't have to worry about hating him anymore. -
Zach Randolph, Darius Miles, Greg Oden and now Brandon Roy, one of Portland's stars undergoing knee surgery seems to be an annual thing in recent years. I just hope Roy's isn't as serious as the others were.

All-Time NBA Draft (THE RESULTS ARE IN THE FIRST POST)
Cuban Linx replied to Brett Favre's topic in Sports
I voted you 7th which isn't that low, though if i voted again now i'd probably put you top 5, for some reason i wasn't that impressed when i voted but looking again Wilkens/Miller/Wilkins/Kemp/Kareem is actually pretty awesome. -
Maia/MacDonald was a great fight, especially the 1st round. I've never been much of a MacDonald fan but he impressed me here, and Maia continues to look like the real deal. One more big win and i assume he'll have a title shot against Silva (or Cote...) before too long. Florian/Huerta was a good fight but not as good as i hoped it would be, still a very good win for Florian though i agree he probably could have done more. Good luck getting BJ Penn-level money now Roger. Brock was simply a monster, giving Herring a beating on the level of his Cro Cop & Fedor fights only without the finish/cut stoppage. Kongo thinks he deserves a title shot after hugging a nobody against the fence 95% of the fight and constantly leaving his head in position for a Guillotine, let Lesnar smash him next and put him out of contention for good. Kongo and his stupid chest pound/fist pump thing is easily my least favorite fighter in the UFC right now. GSP looked great in the main event, St. Pierre beat Fitch all over the Octagon but credit to Fitch for somehow surviving despite looking finished about 4 separate times. Bring on GSP/Penn II. Great show overall, maybe the best UFC this year or at least close to it.

8th place, hoped for a little higher but with so many good teams i can't complain. -
I vote B.

Rangers: C- Mike Lamb (only ever played 3 games at catcher but he's all they have) 1B- Mark Teixeira 2B- Ian Kinsler SS- Rich Aurilia 3B- Edwin Encarnacion LF- Craig Monroe CF- Scott Podsednik RF- Kevin Mench DH- Travis Hafner Bench- Carlos Pena, Hank Blalock SP- Aaron Harang SP- John Danks SP- Noah Lowry SP- Ryan Dempster SP- Kenny Rogers RP- CJ Wilson 1st, 2nd & 3rd base are good but the rest of the offense is garbage, while the pitching is actually half decent considering how bad the Rangers actual pitching usually is. Would look even better if you counted amateur free agent signings like Edinson Volquez.

UFC 88: Breakthrough - Liddell vs. Evans
Cuban Linx replied to jackmcmanus21's topic in Mixed Martial Arts
Really good looking card. Boetsch and Kim should provide a pair of entertaining slaughters, Tavares/Pellegrino, Henderson/Palhares and Parisyan/Yoshida should all be damn good fights, Franklin/Hamill will be interesting to see, and while another episode of Chuck KO's the wrestler isn't the greatest main event it shouldn't be boring either. All that and it's still possible we get an Anderson Silva annihilation/title defense as well. -

I look forward to seeing the odds for Silva/Cote, Patrick would have to be one of the biggest underdogs ever.

Nate Marquardt (Middleweight)

I pretty much never see a movie at the theater more than once but for this i'll probably make an exception, i can't possibly wait until it's out on DVD to see it again.
-
That Markham headkick will be right up there as KO of the year material. As for the rest of the show, Silva looks just as good at 205 as he did at 185 though Irvin offered basically zero resistance, Vera fought like a 205 pound Tim Sylvia, Burns getting the win is some BS i wouldn't be surprised to see overturned (at least it should), and Franca/Edgar was a damn good fight. Not bad for a free show.

Affliction - Banned: Fedor vs. Sylvia

McCarthy's been done with the UFC since late last year. -
In as the Titans once again.

I had very high hopes for this, and it didn't just meet my expectations it easily surpassed them. Great performances, Ledger and Eckhart are the highlights but really everyone was very good in this, the action scenes were excellent, simply a great movie. Consider the hype lived up to.

Lack of knowledge about college football shouldn't hold anyone back from participating, I knew very little when i started in this 3 seasons ago and yet somehow i've ended up being better than everyone.

All-Time NBA Draft (THE RESULTS ARE IN THE FIRST POST)
Cuban Linx replied to Brett Favre's topic in Sports
Well, that was difficult. With so many good teams i feel like i've shortchanged a lot of them ranking them so low, outside my top 2 i could easily shuffle everyone else up or down a bunch of positions and be happy with the result. -
I vote C.
