Main recommendations would be the singles, especially "You Said No" (also known as "Crash And Burn"), "Who's David", "Crashed The Wedding" and especially "Year 3000". The better album tracks would be "Loser Kid" (which includes a nice reference to "What I Go To School For") and "She Wants To Be Me"

I'm just hoping this is true. If it is, there is no way that at least one hilarious backstage incident wont happen. While he certainly isn't a good wrestler, the sheer entertainment that New Jack will bring, both in the ring and out, will make his signing fantastic

Reality Bites- Good, but flawed in many respects. Ethan Hawke is pretty unlikeable as Troy and Ben Stiller, who we're supposed to be rooting against, actually comes across as a decent guy. The dance scene in the petrol station is still pretty funny and Janeane Garofalo is great as usual, but it could have been better 6/10

Gary Barlow had a fanbase after Take That split, he released really bad singles like "Forever Love", his career failed. Had he kept writing songs to the standard of "Back For Good", he'd likely have remained a success. What Charlie needs is a song good enough that cynics will forget his pop past and take him seriously for his music.

"A Present For Everyone" is indeed a tremendous album and showed a decent progression from the cheesier pop hits of the first album to actual songwriting ability, although "Thunderbirds Are Go" (a "bonus" track on the re-released version) is still pretty wank. The main problem Fightstar will have is who they'll appeal to. Just because Charlie has started wearing Funeral For A Friend t-shirts and covering Nine Inch Nails songs doesn't mean that people will suddenly start taking him seriously as a musician, but at the same time could well put off his teen fanbase. If their first release isn't fantastic, they'll be in trouble.

Alexander- Really felt obliged to see it after doing an entire module on Alexander during my degree, plus, since seeing "Daredevil", my housemate finds Colin Farrell utterly hilarious. Nowhere near as bad as everyone say, and perversely entertaining in places, although not in the way you imagine Oliver Stone wanted it to be. A bit too long and you kinda wish that Stone hadn't decided to make Alexander's death more glamourous than his actual died-of-pneumonia death really was, but still decent enough 5.5/10

"Medicine Bottle" by the Red House Painters-can't believe that a near ten-minute song, with no regard to conventional verse-chorus structures could be so addictive

What happened in the WWF the day you were born?
DCMaximo replied to JoeDirt's topic in General Wrestling
Not only do I get a card of: WWF @ New Haven, CT - Veterans Memorial - June 13, 1982 Greg Valentine defeated Rick McGraw Blackjack Mulligan defeated Steve Travis Chief Jay & Jules Strongbow defeated Mr. Fuji & Mr. Saito via disqualification Andre the Giant defeated Adrian Adonis But also the shocking news that on the day I was born: 6/13/82: Former WWF star Peter Miavia passed away at the age of 47. Crikey! -
Totally agree with "Only Shallow", "Grace Cathedral Park" and "Teenage Riot". Just wanted to add: "Rather Be Dead" by Refused (from Songs To Fan The Flames Of Discontent) "Sparks Are Going To Fly" by the Catherine Wheel (from Wishville) "Daily Mutilation" by the Posies (from Amazing Disgrace) "You Held The World In Your Arms" by Idlewild (from The Remote Part) "Sleepflower" by the Manics (from Gold Against The Soul)

"1965" by the Afghan Whigs-not sure how it if I prefer it or not to "Black Love" just yet, but does confirm my suspicions that Greg Dulli is some kind of musical god. "Frosting On The Beater" by the Posies-well worth the £4 it cost, "Flavor Of The Month" being worth the cost by itself "The Trees Are Dead And Dried Out Wait For Something Wild" by Sikth-growing on me at the moment, although the single "How May I Help You?" is still the highlight "Smoking Guns And White Doves" by the AKA's-a fantastic hybrid of Devo, Refused and the Clash which is still danceable as fuck

After a brief period of confusion, I've realised that the Embrace mentioned here isn't the same as the Embrace who had a number one album in the UK last year with their trademark brand of catchy somophore indie.

INCANDENZA AND AGENT OF OBLIVION MEET
DCMaximo replied to Giuseppe Zangara's topic in No Holds Barred
Awesome, this sounds like a plan...for February. Which, considering I've got car tax, car MOT and holidays eating into my finance for January, is a more sensible plan. Besides which, having only moved to Nottingham in September, my knowledge of the place isn't as great as it could be, so if MiG is interested, he'd probably know the superior parts of the city. -
How many cats would it take to kill a man?
DCMaximo replied to rising up out of the back seat-nuh's topic in No Holds Barred
I'd go for 5. One from the front, acting as a sacrifical lamb, two from the sides who cause general scratches to the leg and arms, the fourth cat attacks from behind while you're unaware, disorientating the victim, cat number 5 gets the jugular. Voila, a cat victory. -
INCANDENZA AND AGENT OF OBLIVION MEET
DCMaximo replied to Giuseppe Zangara's topic in No Holds Barred
You're in Sheffield, right? That's not too far from Nottingham, could be interesting. Of course I say this in the knowledge that I'm not going to have internet access for 2 weeks, but after that could be an intruiging experience -

There's a Smiths tribute album called "How Soon Is Now: A tribute To The Smiths" that came out this year which is decent in places. Million Dead do a great job with "Girlfirend In A Coma", thisGirl have a decent stab at "Shoplifters Of The World Unite" and the Beautiful Mistake cover of "Cemetery Gates" is splendid. However, Hundred Reasons do the wankiest cover of "How Soon Is Now" I've ever heard

He's been one of our best players since Jol took over. At the start of the season it was heavily rumoured that he'd be off to Forest as part of a deal for Andy Reid, as he'd been average last season and was mainly on the bench during our opening games. Now though, Jol's given him more of a free attacking role, where he's been creating some excellent chances, as well as scoring a belter against Norwich. He gives 100% each game too, which is why he's becoming a hit with the fans.
