    Future World Champions

When Shawn Michaels debuted in the WWF, no-one thought he would be world champion. Likewise with Bret Hart, Mick Foley, Steve Austin. All guys who debuted in the midcard and worked their way to the title. With this in mind, I wanted to probe the mind of the TSM regulars and ask who you tip as a future world champion from the midcard or below (ie, not someone like Chris Benoit or Eddie Guerrero, who are currently upper-midcarders) Personally, I'd go for Charlie Haas. While he is generally considered the weak link of the team and the one less likely to get a singles push, people thought the same about Shawn Michaels and Matt Hardy and look how they compared to their tag partners. Also, Haas is still a talented wrestler, he's WWE homegrown, he's got a killer finisher (the Haas of Pain RULES) and, as cynical as it sounds, I can just see Vince using Russ Haas' death in an attempt to gain fan sympathy for Haas. He's good on the mic and only getting better, so my vote goes to Charlie. And you guys think???

    Impact! Spoilers for 1/8/09

Lethal and Creed have tagged previously and are undefeated as a team (vs Bashir/Petey, the MCMG and Tanahashi/Sonjay) so it's not a totally random pairing. Plus, out of the existing face teams, I'd rather see them vs Beer Money than 3D or Morgan/Abyss, so it's not a total loss.

    Out of Sight

Great film and certainly the one that saved Clooney's move to the big screen after some real stinkers (Peacekeeper/Batman & Robin/One Fine Day)

    Memorable/Favourite

Just realised we've got this far without any mention of "THERE'S A WOMAN IN THE MENS BATHROOM!" Gorilla & Bobby on Adrian Adonis: Gorilla: He's quite lethargic. Bobby: And slow.

Best movies that didn't actually exist

This movie exists. It's a 1938 film with James Cagney. You're thinking of "Angels With Dirty Faces" with Cagney and Pat O'Brien. The "Home Alone" movie was an homage to that

Best movies that didn't actually exist

"Angels With Filthy Souls" from Home Alone "Hey! I tell you what I'm gonna give you, Snakes. I'm gonna give you to the count of 10 to get your ugly, yellow, no-good keister off my property before I pump your guts full of lead! One, two, ten! (rapid machine gun fire) Keep the change, ya filthy animal!"

    Worst Song(s) of 2006

"Chasing Cars" by Snow Patrol, the kind of bland nothing of a song, where you just knew the video would be some over-wrought nonsense. In this case, the singer lying down in the pouring rain. Just awful Also: "Fill My Little World" by the Feeling (utter drivel, although "Never Be Lonely" sounded like ELO, and thus was pretty cool) "I Don't Feel Like Dancing" by Scissor Sisters (horribly cynical faux-disco for people who don't like music) "Smile" by Lily Allen (crap pop-reggae that managed to fool people into thinking it was decent because Allen slagged off some crap indie bands like the Kooks)

    NAME THAT WRESTLER!

Damn, that was quick. Yes it is Scotty Anton
  13. DCMaximo

    NAME THAT WRESTLER!

OK, three clues: 1. He is a former WCW tag team champion 2. He turned heel on Rob Van Dam in 2000 3. He held the World Heavyweight title for Dusty Rhodes' Turnbuckle Championship Wrestling

    NAME THAT WRESTLER!

I think I read somewhere that Kane was born in Spain and he's held the world, tag, IC and hardcore title. Is it him?

    Christmas Music

"Merry Christmas Everyone" by Shakin' Stevens makes me incredibly happy, with special mentions to "Merry Christmas (I Don't Want To Fight Tonight)" by the Ramones, "Oi To The World" by the Vandals and "Lonely This Christmas" by Mud. Oh, and "Goblin In The Office (Naughty Christmas)" by Fat Les...fucking brilliant

    Memorable/Favourite

Tony Schiavone's greatest moment: "We have seen the end of Hulkamania... and Hulk Hogan, you can go to hell. Straight to hell!"
  17. The third Turtles film was pretty poor and having sat through interminable sequels for Urban Legend and Candyman, I can safely say they need putting out to pasture. That said, the Friday the 13th series, barring the abortion of Jason Goes To Hell, is always entertaining, even the lesser films like X and V. Jason Lives is one of the most fun horror sequels I've ever watched and The Final Chapter (6 "chapters" ago) was excellent too. Nightmare On Elm Street admittedly did suck after the first one though.

    Recent Purchases

This week: The Nottingham Fopp had a large selection of Dylan albums for £3 each. As I'd got the obvious ones (Blonde, Freewheeling, Highway 61) I took advantage of their generosity by picking up two I hadn't got round to Had an hour long drive ahead of me, so decided some classic Boss would be the perfect accompaniment for the journey. No idea why I hadn't already bought this. Had become obsessed with the song "Weekends And Bleak Days" over the weekend, so decided to risk it, and was rewarded by a cracking collection of pop songs, "Loughborough Suicide" being the highlight

I want to punch James Blunt right in the fucking face

This thread leads me to believe some people are going to be devastated when James Morrison finally crosses over to the states. That "Wonderful World" song was horrible

What are you listening to right now?

"Sweeping The Nation" by Spearmint. Indie-pop at it's finest.

    Video Games...

Thanks man. God, if i'd known who half those guys were at the time, I'd have been so impressed. I only recognised TAKA and Shinzeki at the time- in fact the reason I became a Hayabusa fan is because I the first time I saw him, I realised he was the basis for Hanniabal, who was my character on World Tour. Should have guessed Saladin was Abby tho.

    Video Games...

With WCW/nWo World Tour, I remember they used a lot of Japanese indy wrestlers in the game, with stables seemingly based on FMW and Michinoku Pro. I remember (under different manes) Hayabusa, Tarzan Goto, Jinzei Shinzeki, Sasuke, TAKA and Super Delfin, but who else was included? Can anyone provide a link to a definitive list?

Yeah, I'm slightly biased cos I'm in it, but it's not everyday that Tony "Banger" Walsh puts you in a headlock.

First pay packet in new job=shopping spree! "The Bravery" by the Bravery "The Whitey Album" by Ciccone Youth "This Machine Kills Fascists" (3 CD Woody Guthrie comp) "Jarvis" by Jarvis Cocker "Five Leaves Left" by Nick Drake "No More Cities" by the Dears Currently loving the Jarvis album (best work since Pulp's "A Little Soul") and Nick Drake, while I feel Ciccone Youth and the Dears will require a little more time to get into. Not that I don't like them, just not quite as immediate as the others.
