I don't think England will win this to be honest, and, much as I love Ledley King, he's England's 6th choice centre back (behind Ferdinand, Terry, Woodgate, Southgate and Wes Brown) and that's not enough to stop a strikeforce of Trezeguet and Henry. 2-0 France, maybe even 3-0.

As far as modern stuff goes, "The Shape Of Punk To Come" by Refused and "We Have Come For Your Parents" by Amen are well worth a look. In terms of old school material, "Rattus Norvegicus" by the Stranglers, the self-titled New York Dolls debut and "Inflammable Materials" by the Stiff Little Fingers are all fantastic records. Also, any Undertones "greatest hits" type package is worth a look- they released some classic punk singles.

Just picked up: Ash-Meltdown (with bonus live disc) Slipknot-Vol III (The Subliminal Verses) Fear Factory-Archetype Loving them all so far, but think Slipknot are slighty ahead of the other two.

I know it's been mentioned, but IWA-MS Simply The Best is such a great show. It's the first IWA card I've seen, but it was all good stuff until the Robinson/Wifebeater main event. AJ/Sydal, Lynn/Delirious, Samoa Joe/Whitmer, B-Boy/Hero, Aries/Shane and the 6-man elimination are all worth checking out, with the Styles match and the B-Boy match both being ****+.

Due to the greatness of Morrissey's "You Are The Quarry", I was re-listening to my Moz back-catalogue, when I decided to listen to the album "Malajusted". Sadly, I forgot it contains the atrocity that is "Roy's Keen", which is not only a terrible pun (based on the Manchester United midfielder Roy Keane), but a dreadful song with REALLY poor lyrics ("we've never seen a keener window-cleaner" indeed). There are other examples of great artists recording absolute musical abortions and I was wondering which songs you guys considered to be utter stinkers by great artists. Others I came up with were: Aerosmith-The Big Ten Inch Record (one of the worst songs I've ever heard) David Bowie-Hallo Spaceboy Paul McCartney-Wonderful Christmastime Ozzy Osbourne-Changes (although I mainly hold his talent-vacuum of a daughter responsible for this) Over to you guys...

Cape Feat (1962 original)-9/10 Much better than the remake, mainly due to the fact that Gregory Peck>Nick Nolte.

In February, I went to Prague with my old housemates from university because Prague is renowned for it's incredibly low drink prices. On the last night, we're in a club, when the rest of my group start drinking absinth, which I don't do, simply because I hate the taste of it. Four hours later, we all leave to go back the the hotel, when it's noticed that one of our group, called Brett, is considerably drunker than the rest of us, as it turns out that he's drunk 6 shots of absinth along with all the whiskey he'd consumed, which was quite a lot. In fact, he still had a glass of JD & coke in his hand as we left. Sadly, as he got progressively more drunk (the absinth kicking in), he became more violent, culminating in a vain attempt to kick my friend G, which instead took Brett off balance, sending him to the floor and smashing his drink, which caused him to cut himself horrifically on broken glass. The next 5 hours were chaos as: -we end up carrying Brett home, as he's now almost passed out, hand still bleeding -we have to ward off a Czech pickpocket who keeps reaching towards our pockets as we carry this drunken wreck home -upon arrival at our hotel room, Brett pisses himself -the bleeding gets so severe that we're forced to call for a taxi to take him to hospital -the taxi driver turns up in the most unsightly old banger I've ever seen and almost refuses to take Brett, yelling at us in his native language (which none of us spoke) -Brett remaining unconscious until the doctor treats his hand with iodine, which brings him back to life with a lot of swearing. The doctor tells us he wont give Brett treatment because "he is drunk and abusive" -Me, his roommate being woken up by Brett FINALLY regaining consciousness and shuffling drunkly to the toilet, a trail of piss following along, as he's still not aware of what he is doing Not the best end to a holiday
