Gareth Davis...hmmm, sounds more like a Welsh rugby player- hey that gimmick hasn't been done before, an angry Welsh rugby player. Oh yeah, thats because it would suck.

The presence of Sting as a solo artist is a sickening disappointment, especially ahead of Talking Heads, Simon and Garfunkel and T.Rex

Just want to check, is this the same band who were known as Fuel 238 in the UK? They had a great song called "Jesus Or A Gun" if that helps. If so, I saw them supporting Silverchair in Manchester once and they were fantastic and a shitload better than Silverchair were. If not, then sorry to have bumbled falsely into this conversation

Good old reliable DDT Digest...

Hmmm, it says a lot about a promotion when the picture of the Women's champion, Sherri Martel, is her in her WCW stint alongside Harlem Heat, with Booker and Stevie Ray both in the picture.

I'd personally pick Jermain Defoe before Alan Smith. It may just be because I'm a Tottenham fan (in fact, that's definitely why), but Defoe has been on fire in the Premiership since joining us. I'd certainly pick him as an understudy to Owen before Darius Vassell.

It was during the brand extention...the tag titles went to Raw when Lance Storm and Christian (the reigning champions) jumped over. Then Smackdown started their own titles.

Just got Wet Hot American Summer off eBay for £3. Great stuff.

BEST: Superbrawl VIII -Booker T vs Rick Martel, then Saturn...both excellent matches -La Parka and Disco -The match where Juvi loses the mask (a great match too) -DDP vs Benoit (****+) -Steiners FINALLY split -Sting beats Hogan semi-convincingly

'ABC...Giant Steps' by Liberty 37 has been my choice of funeral song since I first heard it. I've also jokingly thought about My Way by Sid Vicious, but I'm not sure I'd be allowed that...

Stan was number one, but Bob The Builder knocked it off to become the Christmas number one. Stan managed a week at the top

So close..and yet...so...far! TAKA Michinoku vs Paul London. Match Background: TAKA and London have been feuding recently. London has yet to get an in-ring victory in this feud. The Match: Hard back suplex on TAKA. Come to think of it, that move had WAY too much power in No Mercy for N64. London crushes TAKA with a running senton. There's a two count on the pin. TAKA Michinoku avoids a Paul London avalanche by getting out of the damn way! TAKA just WAFFLES London with a STIFF chop that hurt ME to watch! Second rope flying axe handle, London goes down. One day, TAKA might even consider coming off the top with that. You know...for more impact and stuff. Covers for a quick two count. DDT from the top rope by TAKA Michinoku. That looked KILLER. Hooks the leg! ONE...TWO...NO! London takes a flying neckbreaker from TAKA Michinoku. London reverses a TAKA Michinoku hammerlock. London crushes TAKA with a huge legdrop. There's a two count on the pin. DDT from the top rope by Paul London. That looked KILLER. Pinfall attempt: ONE...TWO...NO! I would have bought that as the finish! Flying elbow from Paul London connects. London hits a HARD spinning kick to the jaw. TAKA Michinoku once again takes the advantage after blocking a few punches and connecting with some forearms. Second rope flying axe handle, London goes down. One day, TAKA might even consider coming off the top with that. You know...for more impact and stuff. Vicious kick to the teeth from TAKA Michinoku. TAKA Michinoku gets a roll-up...and grabs a handful of tights as well! The referee doesn't see it: 1....2...3!! TAKA Michinoku slides out of the ring to the floor, then turns and leaves through the crowd. He's happy to have the win, and evidently isn't going to hang around for London to get some payback. My Opinion: This match was SO close from being perfect...but I'd feel almost...dirty giving it the full monty, so I'm only going to give it ****3/4. Damn you Dames, damn you!!

When I was 13, being slightly overweight and wearing glasses (thankfully, I now wear contacts), I was a target for lunkheads to beat me up and one kid in particular took particular delight in beating my puny ass. One day in a woodwork class, this kid was shaping a piece of wood using a sander. One of his friends called out from across the class and, not being the sharpest tool in the shed, the guy looked up, forgetting that he was still sanding some wood. It was only when he felt unbearable pain that he realised that he'd just sanded the ends of his fingers, leaving him a flat end to his middle finger. It was only the fear of getting pummelled that kept me from bursting into laughter. Of course, when I was at university several years later and news filtered from home that he'd driven into a tree and now walked with a permanent limp, I felt no need to restain myself from laughing.

I could be wrong, but I'm pretty sure I read that the accident was caused by Droz shifting his weight while D'Lo was running with the powerbomb, thus causing D'Lo to lose his balance, which surely doesn't mean D'Lo was being careless in this situation.

From what I know of Spud, he's a wrestler for WAR (Wrestling Association of Rugby). But true, that is a terrible name

God, I love Paradise By The Dashboard Light, so it has to be that for me

Very very close. But Dibiase didn't introduce Paul Bearer - someone else did. See if that clue helps at all. Um, were they all introduced on a segment featuring or hosted by Brother Love? I know Love managed Taker before Bearer, the Million $ Belt was from the Brother Love time period and the Ringmaster came in at the same time as Brother Love made a brief mid-nineties comeback

Turner and Hooch (10/10) Awesome, awesome film. I'll never get tired of it.

Sometimes though, it doesn't matter how good the matches are. When I was at university last year in Swansea, the Royal Rumble was coming on, so me and my housemate Jack, the only other wrestling fan in our house decided to watch it. To convince the others to allow this, we held a sweepstake on the Rumble so even the non-wrestling fans would watch in hope of winning some money. The show starts, everyone enjoys Show vs Lesnar, as they are impressed at Lesnar's strength. Shockingly they all enjoy HHH vs Steiner, for reasons I cannot fathom. Then, during Benoit vs Angle, where I was sat on the edge of my seat for the entire match, they were getting really bored, complaining and generally being pissed off. Sometimes, the utter tat goes down best. Of course, I did get to play upon their ignorance during the sweepstake picks- "Yes, yes Bill DeMott is a GREAT pick. I reckon he could win it this year..."
-
Well, I think I know the answer to one of these... 9) all were introduced on screen by the Million Dollar Man (Austin as the Ringmaster, Bearer in conection with the Undertaker, who was discovered by DiBiase and the Million $ belt was DiBiase's personal belt)

Kidman and Rey vs TWGTT (my favourite match of the year) All the obvious ones from WrestleMania (Jericho/HBK, Brock/Angle) Jericho/HBK rematch Mysterio/Hardy (CW title change from Smackdown) Mysterio/Tajiri (No Mercy) Los Guerreros vs Kidman/Benoit from Smackdown and, at the risk of sounding predictable, Benoit/Angle from the Rumble
