    Smart Mark Mistakes

I'll happily admit I was wrong when I thought the WWE would use Mysterio wrongly. Of all the ex-WCW stars, the booking of Rey has been much better than I thought it would be. Hell, I had him down as jobbing on Velocity within 2 months. Sadly, I also thought that the WWE would give Sean O'Haire a huge push (both in the InVasion and at the start of the year), that Kanyon would become a huge star in the InVasion, that WCW would give Sick Boy a push and, for some reason, I was convinced that Scotty Riggs was going to become one of WCW's big stars when he debuted his arrogant gimmick. In hindsight, I'm not sure what I was thinking there

    Nidia gets a boob job..

I'm just wondering when Tajiri hit Nathan Jones with that black mist. Might explain his lactating puppies
  3. Sorry to everyone who reckon's it's Stevie Ray, but he's retired from the business and now works in his own mechanic business. Shame though- anyone who remembers his stint on Thunder knows he's a much better commentator than the King is right now

    WWE News From The Torch

I feel embarrassed to know so much about wrestlers bodily functions, but it was apparently the Undertaker who shat in the King's crown, bitter about how little he got paid in Memphis. I like the idea about sending Rikishi to OVW to lose weight, cos that sure worked out well for the Big Show...

    Create your own dream PPV

Opener: Great Sasuke vs TAKA Michinoku (Canadian Stampede) Lower Card:Dean Malenko, Perry Saturn & Chris Benoit vs Too Cool and Rikishi (No Way Out 2000) Mid Card:Shawn Michaels vs Marty Jannetty (Rumble 93) Semi-Main:Bret Hart vs Roddy Piper (WMVIII) Main:Triple H vs The Rock (Backlash 2000)
  6. Sad to say, but Ivory joining the Alliance was my biggest mark out moment of the entire invasion. As a WCW fan (God, that summer was depressing) even I could accept that the women's roster for the Alliance was kinda weak, so when my favourite diva turned on the WWE, I was a happy bunny. Oh, and Uncensored 2000 got totally shat over, but in retrospect I kinda enjoyed it. 3 Count/Knobbs was fun, Psychosis carried TAFKAPI to a good match and, for my sins, I enjoyed Booker/Kidman vs Harlem Heat 2000

No mention of CRASH on RAW tonight?

The bottom line is that, in spite of it being "Vince's fault or Crash's fault", giving up 10 seconds at the start to quickly acknowledge the death of a former superstar who had appeared on many PPV's and clearly had many friends still working for the company would have been a nice gesture

    Forgotten free TV classics?

There was a great Vampiro vs Hugh Morrus match on Thunder before Uncensored 2000 that was much better than it had any right to be and was my favourite Vamp match ever. Also: Elix Skipper/Kid Romeo vs AJ Styles/Air Paris from Nitro Sting vs Jeff Jarrett 2/3 Falls on Thunder Riggs vs Kanyon on Thunder (shortly after the Flock disbanded, but Riggs still rocked the pirate look) Also I'd be letting myself down if I didn't mention the first match I ever saw, which was Steve Austin beating Barry Windham for the TV title on Worldwide...my memory of that match was that it was awesome

    10 Essential Pay-Per-View Events

I know it was mentioned earlier, but AAA's When World's Collide, which had one of the greatest tag matches ever in Guerrero and Barr vs Octogon and Santo, was such an awesome event in terms of pure workrate that I'd certainly stick it in there before Barely Legal, which had that terrible Douglas/Pitbull match. Also No Way Out 2000 was a great show (HHH/Foley, Radicalz/Too Cool & Rikishi, E&C/Hardyz) that is often forgotten

    Survivor Series will be great!

Thing is, as I said in a different topic, the elimination matches really do hide the limitations of those involved. I mean, look at the first Series- sure the Smackdown match is Hosstastic, but the main event of the first was Fat Bastard Tastic with Andre/Bundy/Gang on the heel side and that was pretty damn good because it told a story. Have Benoit fighting the odds as sole survivor against 3 big men and the story should carry the match
  11. DCMaximo

    Anything appealing at SurSer?

The good thing about these Survivor Series matches is that they hide the limitations of the lesser talents involved. Clearly at least two Jericho/RVD/Christian/Michaels/Booker will last longer in the match than the Duds or the Worlds Strongest Sexual Olympian and if the Smackdown match lets the hosses hit the one or two moves they actually know before tagging out, that could be great, as it'll clearly end up with Brock against one of Cena-Angle-Benoit. They showed at Vengeance in the three way that people like Big Show can be entertaining if they don't feature in the match much

    Is there any chance that...

The annoying thing is, a shitty as that match would be, it would make for an interesting angle (would Goldberg be able to overcome the odds, can Triple H trust Batista, would Batista be fed up of working for HHH?) and it could be used as a launchpad for Triple H's face turn. Luckily though, it wont happen, because that would be the most mindnumbingly bad main event (if it was ME) in Survivor Series history

    News, Rumors, Shit, Stuff, etc,.

I dunno, I mean Rey didn't need a mouthpiece to get over, he managed it through impressing the hell out of the crowds with his ringwork. Tajiri likewise hasn't had a mouthpiece since Regal 2 years ago and he's more over now than ever. Hell, even Funaki is popular considering his character can only speak a few works of english

    Ernest freakin' Miller?!?!

The worst Ms. Jones moments involved Jeff Jarrett. I remember on at least two occasions Jarrett and Jones were in the ring, he threatened to hit her with the guitar, only to be interrupted by the Cat cutting a promo in the aisle. However, instead of using this distraction to run away, Ms. Jones would dumbly stand in the ring, allowing Jarrett to end his promo by twatting her with his "acoustic equaliser"

    All may rejoyce...

I really liked DeMott in WCW, but his knee problems made his WWE career something to be forgotten. I remember he once had a really good match against Vampiro on Thunder in 2000 that was probably Vamp's best match in WCW. It's nice to see he's been given a decent role in the company and really, he can't be worse than the Cat

    Smackdown Spoilers

Yeah, but he's also much better than a lot of the heels who currently litter the Smackdown roster. He's got more of a superstar look than the A-Train or Nathan Jones (face it, the guy looks retarded) and his ringwork and charisma are far greater than Big Show/A-Train/Jones/DeMott/Palumbo. He's certainly much better than Jindrak, who was involved in a victory over Ric Flair on RAW

    Smackdown Spoilers

I can't believe that, out of former WCW tag champs Jindrak and O'Haire, fucking MARK JINDRAK is the one getting the push. I mean, it was only a year ago they started showing those awesome O'Haire promos and now he's dumped into dark match hell

    Michael Hayes is the man!!!

Could be worse...he could bring the old "booger red" nickname out of retirement

so who has the best dropkick in the biz

Geez, I can't believe no-one said Scotty Riggs. His dropkick was beautiful
  20. DCMaximo

    Nash's carrer in jeopardy!

I can't believe people are advocating Nash on the creative team- as if the clique don't have enough influence. Besides, with the exception of Vince Russo, no booker did more to destroy WCW than Nash. That said..an Al Snow/ Nash commentary team, that'd be cool
  21. DCMaximo

    Jyndrak and Cade

The problem with their finisher is that Cade needs to actually slam the opponent down following the dropkick. Instead, it looks like Jindrak uses a really high dropkick and Cade gently places them onto the canvas. On the subject of Cade's name, at least Garrison is better than the one time on Heat, while they were in the process of changing his name, where he was simply known as "Cade". That sucked.

    Top 5 indy guys....

    1. Trent Acid (had a drunken conversation about Mr Acid the other day- 3 of us had him as our number 1 "Indy guy who should be in the WWE by now) 2. Psychosis (the WCW fan in me demands it and he still brought his A-game, even in XPW) 3. Nate Hatred (not the greatest worker, but he just has a certain superstar look) 4.Shark Boy (just for the cult following. He's too campy NOT to get over) 5. Robbie Brookside (still damn good after all this time- great old-school face)
  23. Yeah, it's the old WCW trick of putting on a cruiser match to get the fans excited, before bringing them back to earth with some dull old shit. speaking of which, has the rumoured APA-Bashams match been confirmed, or is that a vicious and sick joke?
  24. If it does happen, you'll "rue" the day you made that joke..HAHAHA.....(cringes in shame)
  25. No Way Out was one of those nothing pay-per-views that, while nothing was truly awesome, when I watched it with my friends the next day (haven't got Sky, so I rely on the kindness of others to video it) I could happily watch it without feeling like I'd wasted my time...except Steiner/ HHH, that bored the shit out of me
