And don't laugh, but if Rex lands anywhere that has a decent line and good receivers, you can expect him to break out. Of course, you'll have to accept the 10-20 picks per year as well.
-
It just seemed to me in 2007 Lovie just kept wanting reasons to go back to Rex Grossman. Maybe he's starting to get it in terms of who he should really go with, or NOT go with, rather. But he was just as pro-Grossman as anyone at one point.

Bears need a lot of help in many areas. I'd rather stick with Orton for at least one more year, and if nothing works out next season, we'd be in a semi-decent position to grab one of the better quarterbacks out there in the draft, like Colt McCoy or Sam Bradford. (Not including Tebow because I don't think we'll be so bad we're in top 3 picking in 2010)
-
That doesn't make sense. If someone is on your shortlist, and it's your turn... pick him/her. Otherwise, it's a horseshit thing to say. That's not directed to any specific person. But I've seen such a statement crop up often through these drafts.

Bears? Yes. Chicago the city? Yes. Lovie Smith? No.
-
Yeah if Chicago signs McNabb, it's to back up, and he'll be too expensive for that role.

NEITHER Utah or Ball State deserves the shot. USC doesn't either, but they would deserve it more than Utah, is my point. And get off the 2004 team. As good as they were, they weren't as good as USC or Auburn or even Oklahoma.

WWE General Discussion-November 2008
USC Wuz Robbed! replied to ChrisMWaters's topic in The WWE Folder
I don't know about that. It seemed more like the NFL thought that by doing TNA, Pacman was bringing attention to himself, when he should be staying out of the spotlight. -
Ok, that's a fair point. But Cassel is 26/27 (not sure which). Ryan is only 23. Who's not to say that when Ryan's Cassel's age, he'd be even better, and in fact, a legitimate star on his own? And don't forget, the Falcons are Ryan's team to keep for the long term. It's not like Michael Vick will waltz back in and take the job. The very second that light flashes green in the New England trainer' room, Cassel's on the bench.
-
I was puzzled by that. At least if you're playing the dumb card, call him Doogie!
-
Also I'd like to point out that by this logic, Tom Brady himself hasn't proven himself capable, because he has not had 400 yards passing back to back. Neither has Peyton.
-
Because he has Randy Moss, Wes Welker and co? I mean, this is the same team Tom Brady was scorching the earth with last year, before New York decided enough was enough. That set aside, it's the LOGIC that Matt Ryan needs to prove himself before you'd put him on the list, when Matt Cassel is in almost the same boat himself, that I'm questioning.
-
With the Packers just about cooked (they aren't going to win very many games coming up), I'd guess it's safe to say Favre wins the battle with the Packers this year.
-
Why would you say Matt Ryan needs to prove himself and then include MATT CASSEL on the list as being better? Isn't he practically a rookie as well playing his first full season? Actually, don't answer that question. I don't wanna know your logic.
-
Considering Matt Ryan's rating is a 88.3 and Flacco's is a 78.7, yeah I don't think anyone will say what you want them to say. If you like Flacco that much, cool. He's a Raven. Enjoy him, but don't get pissy because he isn't considered the best rookie QB. And no he shouldn't. What Ryan has helped the Falcons become is a much bigger story than anything the Ravens are doing.

Cowboy doesn't seem to think that. As for cabbageboy, Utah beat Oregon State by 3 at home. USC lost to them on the ROAD. Disregarding that, your next biggest win is over BYU, already tainted by a loss. But if we're using BCS power conferences only, your biggest win was over a Michigan team that obviously suck. You're right, they should go over USC who would in theory have beaten teams like Ohio State, Notre Dame, Virginia, etc. Try again. I mean, I know you hate USC, but shut the fuck up. And that's not just to cabbageboy. Everyone needs to shut up about Utah. They proved nothing. Their first REAL test is the BCS bowl. That's way too late.

1. How do you feel about the Dallas/Detroit tradition? How would you change it, if at all? I'd allow different teams the Thanksgiving spotlight, and not just the same few teams. 2. Are there ten QBs in the league -right now- that you would take over Matt Ryan? If so, who? If not, does that blow your mind? Where do you rate him? Let's see. I'd likely rate him 5th or 6th -right now-. But once guys like Tom Brady comes back and if guys like Matt Hasselbeck return to playoff form, Ryan would get shifted downward. 3. Who is the best player in the AFC west? Offensively, Phillip Rivers (I mean, Cutler? Please.) Defensively, Nnamdi Asomugha. I agree with Harley. He needs to go elsewhere... preferrably Chicago. Fuck "Peanut" Tillman. 4. Where does Donovan McNabb play next season? NFL analyst. Just not Chicago, please. 5. Why does Seattle suck so bad? Injuries and no good QB for a long stretch, now no WRs.
-
Well we went from playing the Bears to playing the Saints. That's what happened. More like, you went from playing a home game to a road game. The Bears have beaten the Saints before (twice in a row in fact), so don't act like we're inferior to them, you arrogant jackass. It just means you had one really strong game where everything clicked, to not so strong game. It happens to everyone.

He was just Donovan McNabbing it.

WWE General Discussion-November 2008
USC Wuz Robbed! replied to ChrisMWaters's topic in The WWE Folder
Maybe because they don't really have anything where they really need a slow burn to start. Most of the programs that could happen at Mania seem to be contained within the brands that are currently set up (as in, I don't see a major cross brand match except for maybe HBK/Taker). Most of the times when they did those teases, it was with guys of different shows, that Survivor Series would be the first show together after the summer programs end. -

Edge/Hardy doesn't qualify as a potential direction? -

Usually, when an indy wrestler agrees to wrestle a squash match for WWE (not so much for TNA), it's because they hope they could put on a good enough showing that they would be asked back, possibly on a more permanent basis. But you're right. For a world class wrestler like Bryan Danielson, it's all about the money. He had ZERO notions of winning a job with them. He's just there for the check. -

I don't think Austin/Cena will happen. And then you have to put him in there somewhere in a big match. That's why I'm not buying this "rumor". -

No it doesn't. It just shows that Danielson is willing to accept an easy payday for a quick squash. I think Nigel would be willing to go to WWE, they just haven't made him the offer. Plus, he's under contract to ROH at the moment. So why did he, like Joe, contemplate quitting when WWE and TNA wasn't offering him deals? Of course Danielson backed off and went on to have one of the best runs for an indy wrestler, but clearly he wanted to be somewhere better at one point. (waits for the RoHbot answer of burn out or whatever lame excuse to ignore ROH's importance or lack thereof to a wrestler's outlook) -

I thought Danielson would want to work with WWE, if he knew he wouldn't be messed with? In fact, his Velocity stints would indicate such desire.
