ROH 4/27 and Good Times, Great Memories (4/28) shows
theintensifier replied to Hawk 34's topic in General Wrestling
Aries kicked out of a top-rope backdrop driver and a lariat? Ridiculous. And he main events one show and is at the bottom of the card on the next. Ridiculous, again. The report I read said Daniels was legitimately injured after his match with Strong. What's next with ROH? They're losing Daniels and Cabana now, who's the next to be groomed into ROH stardom? -
Yeah, because those three are the ideal role models a young wrestler needs.

QFT QFT? Whether anyone wants to admit it or not, Randy Orton is a good wrestler. Which is more than one could say for Mr Bagwell. Also, I don't think Randy had a career in soft porn films before entering wrestling. I could be wrong though. No, he was just being a piece of shit going AWOL from Marine Corps boot camp. Yeah, cause staying when he absolutely hated it would have been better. If you're not totally certain you want to be in the marines, then you have to leave. Otherwise, you'll get yourself killed. Granted, he could have went about a better way but you can't judge him when you don't know the entire story. If he wasn't certain they why did he sign the eight year contract? He went AWOL twice during his stint in the Marine Corps and was sentenced to 38 days in the brig, and unfortunately for us, he wasn't convicted as a felon. He's a piece of shit, a fucking quitter.

Tom Hanks is going to be paid $50 million
theintensifier replied to milliondollarchamp's topic in Television & Film
Tom Hanks is a great actor and has been a part of many good/great movies: Big Splash Philadephia Story Forrest Gump Sleepless in Seattle You've got Mail A league of their Own Saving Private Ryan Turner and Hooch Green Mile Ladykillers Cast Away Terminal Road to Perdition Toy Story I and II Apollo 13 And probably more, but I'm drawing a blank. -
I've always wanted to make a thread like this. A generational battle of superstars is what I want to discuss. Basically, this is what we do: On one side, we have (starting with basketball) a team from the 50's/60's/70's facing a team from the 80's/90's/00's. Most teams have fifteen players, so pick fifteen for each side. You can also add in a coach if you desire. Once everyone who wants to I guess contribute, we have have a discussion to determine the final "perfect" teams.

I fail to see what difference that makes in a strictly hypothetical situation such as this, where any external motivations would ostensibly be out of the question; that is to say, these guys would just fire up the time machine and play for pride. That said, I'd have to think the '92 Dream Team has better athletes and better basketball players than any motley assortment of 50s/60s players. I'm sure even 'Melo and King James are capable of playing for the love of the game too. Granted, the '92 Dream Team is the greatest asortment of basketball players in history, minus, of course, Christian Laettner. The point I was making was simple, the legends of basketball like Wilt and Oscar played to play not to get paid, unlike the newer generation of "superstars". Surely the athleticism has increased over the years due to extensive training regimes, personal trainers, and as well as performance enhancing supplements. Its rare to see in this day in age to see that raw undaunting will to win, because the players will continue to get their outrageous salaries and overwhelmingly absurd contracts. In the end, however great the pioneers of the sport were, the newer generation (80's/early 90's) would win the game or series in my opinion. Athletes like Jordan could outperform on a regular basis just about anyone on the other side of the court, he's proven it against younger and faster players when he was heading towards the end of his Hall of Fame career (like when Stackhouse said he'd shut him down and score 50, yeah, that happend!). The only problem the new generation team would face would be the big men on the old guys team, especially Wilt, Kareem, and Russell. Extremely agile, in shape, and able to cover the floor like a small forward, they'd run circles around Shaq, and the other dominating Centers and Power Forwards. The game would surely be a closely contested game, and each side has great talent and their own individual specialties. The older generation is known for their amazing teamwork, better shooting, higher scoring, better rebounding, and defense would be on that list if blocks were counted as a stat when Wilt first started. The newer generation is known for their amazing athletic ability, great defense (Jordan, Stockton, Pippen, Robertson, Akeem, Shaq), somewhat great teamwork (Stockton/Malone - Jordan/Pippen), good scorers, and decent rebounders among other things.

There's no doubt those two teams are legendary, but I don't think they hold a candle to the 72-10 Chicago Bulls. Michael Jordan - greatest basketball player of all-time, bar none. Agreed?

Czach, I think you're missing a huge difference between the glory day players and the players today. Guys like Wilt and Oscar played because they loved the game of basketball, now look at the players today. "Who's gonna pay me?"

Tacos don't agree with you? Allergic? I had tacos last night as well, and loved it. Burger, cheese, ranch dressing = good times.

Its sad someone like Anna Nicole Smith received so much attention for her death, but when someone like Lou Thesz dies, nothing.

Like I said in the DJ thread, boo fucking hoo. This pansy ass shit is so fucking absurd. Before long, if you say "Hi" to someone will be deemed offensive and banned.

That's just retarded.

I watched this last Monday's episode, I said I missed the one before the long hiatus. Sorry for the confusion. And thanks for the review anyway starvenger.

What the fuck are you talking about anyway? Jesus.... This is one of the only shows I watch on television these days. I missed last weeks (the last episode shown) episode, and didn't even realize it until they were showing the recap. So, if anyone can fill me in on what happend, it'd be great. I used to have a clear cut favorite character in this show, but the last few episodes I've seen has changed my mind. I liked Clare and the events surrounding her, but they've switched gears now since they saved the cheerleader, and since its time to save the world, my favorite is by far Sylar. It was cool when he stole that female mechanics power for super sensitive hearing and it backfired on him.

Heh, it says he's clean.... And a few of you are surely going to hell for the pictures you posted, especially the Count.

Boo hoo. Cry me a fucking river already. Our country has turned out to be a bunch of whining little bitches.

I've been lucky and never had a cavity, ever. My parents were always harping to me to brush my teeth three times a day, I'd maybe do it once, or twice tops. Toothpaste used to make me sick to my stomach all the time, and I hated brushing my teeth because of it. One day at boot camp my Senior Drill Instructor called me to the duty hut and told me my wisdom teeth were getting pulled if I liked it or not. It didn't hurt at all, because they numbed it so much. But, it did hurt the next day when one of my DI's woke me up by grabbing my mouth and making me yell. Dry socket. Good times.

Ha. If anything, it'll make it far worse. Or, you'll gain a new addiction. And, you seriously started smoking because of a friend that stressed you out?
