  1. I just looked up the information on Palermo, and turns out he was shot by an Army guy Thankfully, the fucker got 75 years for it.
  2. Even as a youngin' he had a look of death to him
  3. McKinley sure was a grim looking mo-fo
  4. The Flyers goalie who died in the mid-80's (help)
  5. I'm guessing you mean '02, right? '01 was when the Lakers swept through the Western Conference Playoffs
  6. Hi everyone! *kicks Slapnuts in dem nuts* That's how I like to start off things
  7. And I can't believe I forgot Jerome Brown Speaking of boxing tragedies, how about Deuk-Koo Kim (the boxer who died after fighting Ray Mancini)
  8. He died in early '00 when he crashed his car while drag-racing a teammate in the parking lot of the Charlotte Coliseum
  9. There was a stretch from mid '00 to mid '01 where it seemed like athletes were tragically dying right and left Korey Stringer, Bobby Phills, Malik Sealy, Earnhardt, Adam Petty and Kenny Irwin Oddly enough, with the exception of Stringer, all of those involved cars
  10. Never *collective gasp from audience* They annoyed me as a kid and I never had any interest in watching it when I passed by it while channel surfing
  11. I haven't had a console or paid attention to the console world in about 4 years, so could someone explain how Square went from "can do no wrong" god status to "can't do anything right" (as I'm guessing)?
  12. Remember, if your kid sees a nudity on TV, they'll be TRAUMATIZED FOR LIFE~!
  13. I believe so A good point, indeed, but when I typed this I felt I could not leave it out, just thinking of all the stories I remember, like: - Ace Bailey being one of the planes - Boomer Esiason's charity office being destroyed (thankfully no one was killed) - The athletic connections of the guys who fought back on Flight 93 - A former Buffalo Bills player who was lucky to get his heart transplant in time, because if the plane carrying his heart had been delayed in any way, it would have been grounded by the FAA's nationwide grounding And many more The unification was a definite positive end that I would not exclude
  14. I had thought about that one, for sure, but if this were under the guidelines of one of those official ESPN list thingies, it would be cutting really close with the timeline, happening one month before ESPN's birth Mike Utley, and it was in one of Barry's first seasons (1991 or so)
  15. whatever happened to Ojeda?
  16. I thought a good Top 25 list they didn't do on TV for their anniversary (possibly because it would have been too heavy handed) was the top 25 sports tragedies in the last 25 years. What do you think would have been on there and what list would you make? Things I can think of: 9-11 Earnhardt dies on the track Len Bias ODs Hank Gathers collapses on court Cleveland Indians boating accident
  17. That's it, I'm kickin' your ass back to Mexico, boy...
  18. I'd like to kcik Janet in those tits of hers for helping to kick off Ashcroft and Powell's "War on Indecency"
  19. i was watching ESPN's "Who's #1?" today and afterwards I wondered... in thise kinds of games, when is it considered a good comeback by the winning team vs. a horrible choke by the losing team Examples: Bills-Oilers 1992 playoff game is viewed as a phenomenal comeback by the Bills rather than a choke by the Oilers But Game 6 1986 is viewed as a choke by the Sox rather than a good comeback by the Mets 2000 NBA WCF - seen more as Blazers choke and not Lakers comeback 1986 AFC Championship - seen more as Elway and Broncos comeback vs. Browns choking What do you think?
  20. 's'you sassin' me, boi?
  21. Ag'n o'blivion is right
  22. That wouldn't be the first time you've called me that, I'm sure I just go off the songs I've heard... it was a couple years ago so I don't remember which ones, but I d/led a few songs from Nile on suggestion and that's how I heard it, hence I didn't pursue spending money on a CD I may not have liked. Same process with Cryptopsy And that was a time when I was looking for any and all DM, because I was a younger pissed off "my g/f dun screwed me over" Slayer, so I was open to anything, really
  23. Slapnuts and Jobber rock when it comes to those picture comments Keep up the good work
  24. Plag should put a ManU flag in his sig to be trendy
  25. Growls, yes I suppose I never mentioned my personal criteria for a good DM vocalist though. I like at least a little bit of lyrical enunciation in my growling, hence why I like the guys I mentioned above and why I don't like "BRRUUU BRRUU BRUUUU" guys like Barnes, Fischer, etc. As for Nile, they are so damn overrated. Beyond their Egyptian gimmick, I've not heard anything different about their actual metal, hence they fall into JADMB status for me.
