In regards to the computer vs. human, that was meant for Dama.
-
The computers are worse than the polls, because the computers just come up with random formulas for their rankings. At least the people voting in polls usually know what they are talking about. The only way a computer works is if someone found the magic formula, and if that is the case then there are 6 other worthless computers that are being entered into the mix.

Who is saying OU sucks? They had a great season. They are probably a great team. But what does that have to do with deserving a spot in the title game? Are they supposed to be given a top 2 slot just because they have been so overhyped this season? And LSU might be at 8 points in the BCS now, but why are you failing to grasp the idea that if OU falls (gains points) other teams are going to rise (lose points). For every spot lost in the polls and every spot lost in the computer someone is going to be moving up into that spot. So just because LSU has 8 points now doesn't mean they will have 8 points this time tomorrow.
-
No one knows where they will end up in the BCS. If they drop in the polls that will add points and subtract from USC and LSU, they will probably lose a couple of the computers costing some points. Anyone who says they think they know what the final BCS standings are is talking out of their ass.
-
There you go. Clear out all of the BCS bowls and turn it into a round robin tourney this year. Sugar: OU vs. USC Fiesta: USC vs. LSU Orange: OU vs. LSU Rose: Top two of the tourney play each other And I don't see how LSU can't be atop OU after tonight. LSU lost to a better team (Florida > KSU), in a closer game, and Florida was arguably the hottest team in the nation at the time. OU got completely buttfucked in the biggest game of their season.

Now that I think about it a little, I really want Kim for Utley. A 7th-9th inning trio of: Cormier Kim Wagner Could be great if Cormier can do anything close to what he did this year. I know I would be scared having to face Kim then Wagner, they could reasonably get you out on 6 straight Ks any night. And he would provide some nice backup just in case Bud Smith, Telemaco, and Madson all fail. Being arbitration eligible, he probably wouldn't command more than 4-4.5 mil and I think that is reasonable, especially considering the reward can be much higher on him than the FA relievers remaining.

Yeah, I wouldn't mind seeing Chapman get a shot if Bell had problems. I just don't want to move Polanco from second. He seemed so comfortable there last year and seemed to slump once he was moved. No need to mess with that when Utley didn't really do anything that screamed to make a spot for him.
-
Also found this interesting from Peter Gammons -the Phillies indicated they have no interest in trading Chase Utley for Scott Williamson or Byung Yung Kim.- I don't know what their plans are for Utley. He won't have a starting spot and I would rather them get another 3B if Bell has the problems again this year instead of moving Polanco to third and starting Utley. Unless they have plans on trading him for someone else or signing one of the remaining quality relievers, I might have moved him for either one of them.

I can't believe how Vazquez just fell into the Yankees lap. From Jayson Stark It was only a week ago that Expos GM Omar Minaya was talking like a man who didn't feel much pressure to trade Javier Vazquez any time soon. But here's why he changed his mind, according to a variety of sources: 1) Minaya had a conversation with Vazquez in which Vazquez told him he'd prefer to be traded and couldn't envision himself re-signing with the Expos next winter after he became a free agent. 2) As Minaya began calling around, he found his options for dealing Vazquez were more limited than he'd originally thought. The Angels signed Kelvim Escobar. The Phillies traded for Eric Milton. And the Red Sox dealt for Curt Schilling. So the teams with both the dollars to spend and the players to give up were dwindling in a hurry. 3) With Bartolo Colon, Kevin Millwood, Andy Pettitte, Greg Maddux and Sidney Ponson still out there as free agents, Minaya felt that if he waited until the winter meetings and those free agents began to sign elsewhere, he might have even fewer options. So with the Yankees pressing him for an answer and only the Yankees and Braves left as serious bidders by Wednesday, Minaya took the best offer -- from New York. So the Yankees have all the money they ever need, to throw at people, then they get luck on their side as well?!?

Cartman, in actuality some midnight green with some Eagles wings on the helmet would be the fashion statement he needs to make.

That was the greatest fucking catch I have ever seen. Is he a sophomore or junior?

I'm 22, still live at home. Just got a job, but I still have no desire to move out in the near future. Ideally, I would live at home for 2, 3 at most years and save up some money, so when I decide to move out I can live somewhere decent. I see no point, in leaving home and moving into a dump just so you can say you don't live at home. BTW, I see 25 as the cut off date w/o extreme circumstances. Once you hit 25 you should be out of the house or at least see yourself headed that way in the near future. And the best motivation in the world is to have the lazy uncle still living at your grandmother's house past the big 4-0.

Raz, you have essentially clinched already. The 9th place team is a loss and 100 points behind you. I seriously doubt Marvin will out score you by 100. Marvin, you just need to be within 18 points of Dothan. You don't need to outscore them
-
I think everyone between 5-10, outside of Berzerker, is hoping that Berzerker loses. He threatens any of the 8-5 teams if they lose and he outscores every 7-6 team. So there are going to be a lot of Dothan fans.

:takes deep breath: Ok here we go. This is really only for the people such as myself who would be so anal and want to be able to follow every minute Sunday instead of being smart and just waiting til Tuesday to find out. Couple notes: -unrealistic 5 scenarios or more type deals were ignored - > means a team has to out score the mentioned team (ex. UG needs to outscore HHH by 71 and HHH to lose so that = HHH loss > 71), within means they just can't be outscored by anymore than that by the mentioned team - Some times I will refer to something as a 6th loss scenario or something similar. That just refers to the Finish 6th is you lose section. (ex. 2 out of 3 6th loss scenarios, means go to your finish 6th with loss section and 2 of 3 of those need to happen) - Dothan and Berzerker play each other so they will often be on the same line seperated by a slash instead of using a seperate line for each to tell if they win. 5. Ultimo Guerreros (clinched spot, possible 3-8 [i hate this one]) Finish 3rd with: Win: HHH loss > 71 and Pogo loss > 64 Finish 4th with: Win: One of the 3rd place scenarios Finish 5th with: Win: Neither 3rd place scenario and Team 2000 win within 64 or loss and Seoul win within 90 or loss Loss: Team 2000 loses within 64 and Seoul loses within 90 and Berzerker loses or wins within 32 Finishes 6th with: Win: One of finish 5th win scenarios Loss: Team 2000 win or Seoul win or Berzerker win and outscores UG by 32 Finish 7th with: Win: Seoul wins and outscores UG by 90 and Team 2000 wins and outscores UG by 64 Loss: 2 of 3 6th loss scenarios Finish 8th with: Loss: All 3 6th loss scenarios 6. Team 2000 (possible 5-out) Finish 5th if: Win: UG win > 64 or UG loss and Seoul win within 25 Finish 6th if: Win: UG win >64 or loss or Seoul win within 25 points or loss Loss: UG loss > 64 and Seoul loss within 25 and Berzerker win > 22 or loss/Dothan win within 54 and Marvin win within 36 or loss Finish 7th if: Win: Neither 6th win scenario Loss: 3 of 4 6th Loss scenarios Finish 8th if: Loss: 2 of 4 6th Loss scenarios Out: 0 or 1 of 6th loss scenarios 7. Seoul Emerald Tigers (possible: 5-out) Finish 5th if: Win: UG loss or win > 90 and Team 2000 loss or win > 26 Finish 6th if: Win: One 5th win scenario Finish 7th if: Win: Neither 5th win scenario Loss: Marvins loss or win within 10 and Dothan win within 28/Berzerker win > 58 Finish 8th if: Loss: One 7th Loss scenario Out: Both 7th Loss scenarios 8. Berzerker Vikings (possible 5-out) Finish 5th if: Win: Seoul loss within 57 and Team 2000 loss within 32 and UG loss > 22 Finish 6th if: Win: 2 of 3 5th win scenarios Finish 7th if: 1 5th win scenario Finish 8th if: Win: Marvin loss or win within 69 Out with loss to Dothan 9. Marvin's Madness (possible 6-out) Finish 6th if: Win: Team 2000 loss > 35 and Seoul loss > 10 and Berzerker win > 69/ Dothan win within 18 Finish 7th if: Win: 2 of 3 6th place scenarios Finish 8th if: Berzerker win> 69/ Dothan win within 18 Out with loss to Maui 10. Dothan Jaguars (possible 6- out) Finish 6th if: Team 2000 loss > 54 and Seoul loss > 28 and Marvin win > 18 or loss Finish 7th if: Win: 2 of 3 6th place scenarios Finish 8th if: Win: Marvin loss or win > 19 Out with loss to Berzerker

Playoff update (note that point differences are being reasonable this time, hence any instance with a 100 total point difference will be ignored): Taking the 100 point limit into account there are 10 teams that still have their eyes on the playoff race. (from first to tenth) 1. Whalers on the Moon (have clinched top 2 seed, possible:1,2) Clinch first seed with: Win and: Laffayette loss or Laffayette win but don't outscore Whalers by 54 points Loss and: Laffayette loss and not outscored by 54 2. Laffayette Ephedras (have clinched top 2 seed, possible: 1,2) Clinch first seed with Win and: loss by Whalers or outscore a Whalers by 54 points Loss and: Whalers loss and outscore by 54 3. HHH (clinched top 5 seed, possible: 3-5) Finish third with: Win: Loss by Pogo the Monkey or Win by Pogo but remain with in 8 points of them Loss: Loss by Pogo and are within 8 points of them and Win by Ultimo Guerreros, but remain within 71 points or loss by Ultimo Finish fourth with: Win: Win by Pogo and pogo out scores them by more than 8 or/ Loss by Pogo and win by Ultimo and Ultimo outscores them by 71 Loss: Loss by Pogo and remain with in 8 or/ Loss by Ultimo Finish fifth with: Loss: Win by Pogo and out scored by 8 and win by Ultimo and outscored by 71 4. Pogo the Monkey (clinched top 5, possible: 3-5) Finish third with: Win: Win by HHH, but out score them by 8 or Loss by HHH Loss: HHH loss and out score HHH by 8 and Ultimo loss or Ultimo win but outscore UG by 64 Finish fourth with: Win: Win by HHH, but can't outscore them by 8 and UG Loss or win but don't out score by 64 or Loss by HHH, and outscore by 8 and UG win and outscore Pogo by 64 Loss: HHH win or HHH loss, but don't get outscored by 8 and UG loss or win but don't outscore Pogo by 64 Finish fifth with: Loss: HHH win, and stay within 8 points of Pogo and UG win and outscore Pogo by 64 Teams 5-10 aka The Mad Scramble coming later

7.7 RC/27 would have put you in 18th in the majors this year, right behind Frank Thomas and right ahead of David Ortiz. Top 5 this year were Bonds 15.11 Pujols 10.79 Helton 10.31 Delgado 9.29 Sheffield 9.13 I would have been 6th with a 9.0.

I was figuring Prince Smarkzone/Rolling Sambos/Hellview/VI Syxx, since his was banned 20 minutes before this one showed up. He seems to be the Corpse du "what ever the french word for week is".
-
Let's see here..... TSM player with a full run better than the next TSM player in RC/27? The first free agent, baybee. I want to see a eight figure number next to my name, this upcoming season. Belee dat.

I would go with Johnson. Wright only had the one really good game, then a solid one. At his very worst Johnson is still going to put up 175 and a TD. Don't buy into Wright yet.
-
That's right, forgot about that. Previous post edited for just Olympic Stadium. And it still doesn't read that he is going to trip up once he leaves that building.
-
Are you on crack? Home: 100 IP, 14 HR, 21 BB, 98 K, .255 BA Away 104.2 IP, 9 HR, 31 BB, 107 Ks, .211 BA I don't care if he was only 4-8 away last year. And I am livid that the Phillies couldn't top that deal. Nick Johnson for Javier Vazquez even up?!?

I have a feeling Eric Milton is going to be screwed. Sportsnite (local sportscenter) talked about the trade, then started comparing him to Millwood and the heading of their graphic was "Trading Aces?". Eric Milton is not Kevin Millwood, Eric Milton is not being brought in to be the ace of the staff, and the only thing comprable is the salary (which is overpaying, but it happens sometimes). Hopefully, the papers tomorrow portray him in a realistic light (Lefty, inning eater, potential to breakout) as opposed to constant comparisons to Millwood's career.

That was Bill Pulsipher, Jason Isringhausen, and Paul Wilson. I know that, I just stuffed them all in one question since they are some famous busts. Neid was the Rockies' first ever pick right?
