  1. The new leader for best draft note comes from Adam Schein at Foxsports
  2. The Dennis Dodd mock is ridiculous. I don't know if he believes it or if he is just throwing something different out there to stand out, but thinking Vernon Davis last til 24 is just wrong either way. If the Eagles took Kiwanuka with Davis still on the board, I would burn the Linc to the ground.
  3. Hoge: "I wouldn't give Leinart or Young a first round grade" There was my breaking point. At that point you knew Hoge was just there as a gimmick and if they used Kiper at all it was going to be Kiper-Hoge round 2. As much as some people dislike Kiper at least he knows what is going on once you pass the biggest names that everyone knows. Everyone else essentially looks at the first ten picks, "Looked at some tape on them" (which they will mention more than the actual player), and then spout the consensus anyway (other than Hoge who spouts god knows what). And you don't need to go to Mort like he is breaking something everytime he hears a rumbling, wow the Texans still have some interest in Vince Young, who knew?!?
  4. Here is an idea for anyone who wants to go another one or two rounds. Would anyone be interested in being here at a specific time to knock through a third, maybe a fourth round if time permits.
  5. On the clock: 47. Atlanta - bravesfan On deck: 48. Minnesota - CandianChris 49. Dallas - Loaded Glove 50. San Diego - Porter
  6. Let's see if we can get back on track with this shindig. Remember, if you aren't going to be on and see your pick coming up in the near future please kick out a PM to someone Baltimore's time is up so the magic 8-ball gives them, Daniel Bullocks, S, Nebraska Philadelphia takes Thomas Howard, LB, UTEP. He is the athletic freak of a linebacker they have been lacking to match up with Witten/Shockey/Cooley. He is still raw, so he will look like a fool at times, but he has the size and speed to match up with TEs and be a quality blitzer (the two things they desperately need at OLB) St. Louis is on the clock.
  7. I am back online so I can get pm's out when picks come up
  8. No word from nogoodnick on if he wants to stick with the Browns and more than enough time has passed on the pick, so we'll give them Tamba Hali, DE, Penn State and move on Baltimore is on the clock Another note: For now I can only be on here while I am at work 8:30-4:30 so any time outside that please try to keep this moving by at least checking in this thread often as I won't be able to send out pm reminders except while I am at work. Yay run-ons.
  9. I'm going to stop the clock until EHME makes his pick, between my internet crapping out yesterday and losing the next poster picking we'll take a little pause to get back on track. EHME is up and Arizona is now available if anyone wants to pick up another team.
  10. Time's up on the Niners, so we'll slot Manny Lawson, DE/OLB, NC State in there. This year's fast rising, athletic tweener that the 3-4 was built for. The Raiders are on the clock
  11. The problem is that everyone has cap money this year for a mediocre FA crop so cap room is really meaningless. Arrington is looking for way too much money for a guy who has never proven he can play in a defensive scheme (really should become a 3-4 rush LB), Woodson is toast, Ty Law can still play but if Favre doesn't come back then do you really want to bring in someone at Law's age. If the Eagles and Packers really are talking about Walker and GB is looking for a DB, the Packers should try to build a deal around Rod Hood. He is going to be a better DB then they can get at any pick they get for Walker. Hood is on a one year tender deal and I doubt he will want to stick around in Philly as a nickle back next offseason.
  12. But the next best RBs are Calhoun and Drew, not worthy of first round picks. If a Maroney or White fell, then sure jump on them but there is no need to reach at this point with someone like Moss still hanging around.
  13. Time is up on Pittsburgh, so the almighty hair of Kiper gives them Sinorice Moss, WR, Miami Onto Round 2, Houston is up
  14. I think, at this point, it might be questionable if White is one of the top 4 RBs though. I could see some team liking a name we haven't been hearing Addai/Calhoun/etc. over White if he has been that unimpressive this offseason. And Seattle is on the clock.
  15. Alright then, you're up Chicago takes Marcedes Lewis- TE, UCLA
  16. Um...apparently our Carolina has been banned. Anyone want to pick up Carolina?
  17. Chicago is on the clock, AoO pmed a pick. i'll give it an hour or so before making it to see if he hops on.
  18. The Jints are on the clock. If the draft really fell like this, if I am the Eagles, I do whatever it takes to get back into the first round and take Greenway/Sims. Their second (45th overall) and two of their three fourth rounders could be enough to get them up in this range, if not I'd even give up a 2nd and 3rd round pick plus change (6th roundish). In this deep of a draft teams might be willing to move for multiple mid round picks and a Bunkley/Greenway draft would immediately repair the defense.
  19. I am wondering if all of the murmuring about LenDale White's offseason is actually going to drop him (maybe even out of the first round) or if it is just going to turn out to be idle chat. Denver (CandianChris) is on the clock Coming up after Denver: 23 Tampa Bay - Kahran 24 Cincinnati - GertT
  20. By pm for LaParka: With the 20th pick in the 2006 TSM NFL Mock Draft, the Kansas City Chiefs select... Antonio Cromartie, CB, Florida State Strengths: A tremendous natural athlete...Exceptionally fast for a guy of his dimensions...Has outstanding size with long arms...Has great hands and ball skills...Has a knack for coming away with the big play and interception...Has fluid hips and is a pure cover man...Physical and will support the run...A threat to score every time he gets his hands on the ball...Is also a good return man...Proved to be a game changer during his short career with the Noles and came through with a number of impact plays...Has a ton of upside and hasn't even begun to reach his vast potential. Weaknesses: Is coming off of a knee injury...Has only played in 25 total games and has very little starting experience...Very raw and his footwork and technique will need development...Needs to be more consistent...Is not a great tackler...Aggressive and will take too many risks at times...A project who has a high risk factor and his selection will be made mostly based on promise rather than actual production. He's 6'2, runs a 4.41 40, and has a fucking 42 inch vert. I don't care if the guy is a retarded pedophile, that's insane and easily worth a high pick. You can't learn to be that big, strong, and quick, he could potentially take a few jump balls from Randy Moss. Randy Moss! Come on. The Chiefs could use a corner now and maybe one of the other CBs could contribute right away, but you can't ignore a guy like this. FS is up
  21. The problem with McNair's treatment is that the team is the one that put him in this cap number and are now penalizing him for it. It isn't like the "multi year" free agent deals where everyone knows the final big money years will never see the light of day, so the screwing really isn't a big loss to the player. His cap number is this big because he was willing to redo his contract in previous situations to help them out, there is a big difference in those two situations IMO.
  22. Just a heads up, if Loaded Glove runs the 12 hours with the Dallas pick, BX is going to make it so if the next person picking is around give an extra 15 minutes or so to let BX get it in. Also, BX is going to pick up Indy so a QB will not be needed there.
  23. I don't see that happening. To make it happen they would have to give up a 2nd round pick (I can't see GB trading him for anything less, in conference especially) and big money, plus due to the Gaffney signing open up a roster spot (so assume it also costs Pinky or Lewis). If they wanted him that bad and were willing to go all out for him it would have been done before the Gaffney signing.
  24. Time has run on Miami, so we'll just use Kiper's latest mock that gives them Donte Whitmer, S, Ohio State CC pmed me the Minn. pick - Laurence Maroney (RB/Minnesota) Dallas is on the clock
  25. Miami is on the clock then back to Chris for Minn. Also, when you pick please note if you want to stick around for round 2.
