  1. You also have Ayala out for the year
  2. BTW, someone go drag Flyboy back here, kicking and screaming if you have to. He helped semi-book through this thing.
  3. I took Tenn., again if anyone else wants them let me know Still to fill: Dolphins Harley Chicago AoO Minnesota open Oakland Sass Indy 4hartthreat
  4. C- V. Martinez 1B - A. Dunn 2B - R. Freel SS - J. Peralta 3B - D. Wright OF - B. Bonds OF - J. Michaels OF - T. Nixon Util - J. Thome B - BJ Upton B - C. Jackson SP - E. Bedard SP - J. Bonderman SP - J. Seo RP - Aaron Heilman RP - Ryan Madson P - S. Olsen P - J. Verlander B - T. Bowyer B - C. Reitsma I like the flexability Madson and Heilman give me qualifying as SP and RP, I can run a team of 7 starters out there if Bowyer and Reitsma don't hold down jobs. If Bonds or Thome gets healthy enough to play 130 games, I love my lineup. If they both get healthy, it's a monster.
  5. I'll offer Adam Dunn and Erik Bedard for Santana. IMO, that makes the offense reasonable and still provides plenty of SP to make a staff out of. Plus it doesn't seem like an unreasonable deal.
  6. Well, if Prior gets healthy and Clemens comes back you have some movable pieces, otherwise yeah your offense is in trouble.
  7. All yours
  8. Go ahead and fold my team (or reassign it, whatever you're doing) after the season
  9. Time to open up to anyone who wants to take on a second team. For the sake of being able to crank out two picks in a row I'll take Baltimore. If anyone really wants Baltimore, let me know and you can have them.
  10. Owens isn't the fastest when it comes to a 40 yard dash, but in game speed he is explosive enough that he will get three steps on a DB before they react and he is fast enough to not be caught after that. He will, on occasion, get either a case of the drops or a case of alligator arms (some of his drops look a little iffy every once in a while). With that said, anyone who doesn't think when between the lines that he is the best WR in the league at this point is nuts. All factors considered I would rather have Moss, but trying to say moss is a better WR is a reach.
  11. Can I just get some clarification on how McNabb was a "drama queen" and "as big a bitch as TO was"? He kept his mouth shut and took his shots for a year and a half before finally flipping out a bit over this most recent SB week. Hell, he was TO's biggest cheeleader until Owens turned on him. Are these statements the next step in going after Porter's award: "Officer please don't arrest him, it was all her fault for getting him angry"
  12. One thing working in Dallas' favor is the fact that TO will be the face of that franchise. More than wanting numbers, it was the money and recognition that caused the most problems between him and McNabb. No matter what Owens did (even if he was the most popular player, which may have been the case for a stretch), McNabb was still going to be the face of the franchise and the highest paid player. That more than the receptions, yards or TDs is what eats at Owens the most. In Dallas he is going to be the man, the one on the cover of the media guides, the one Jerry Jones will fall all over, the one player that when you say Dallas you think Owens. That might buy some extra time for this honeymoon.
  13. So what are the odds that Dallas/Philly in Philly is going to be the Thursday opener this year? 80%? 90%?
  14. Trust me, it is not going to be that easy. From now on your team is the TO Cowboys. Every story will be about TO, every movement of TO will be reported. You will not be able to root for the team and disassocite yourself from rooting for him. IMO, it was miserable being a fan of the team from Monday-Saturday. That said, if you get the honeymoon year out of him then it was worth it. An offense with Witten, Glenn and Owens as weapons is potent enough to win in the watered down NFC. Get to the Super Bowl and it was worth it as you have to take the shot. And can already hear the whining the first time TO scores a TD against the Eagles, because apparently to some people this is still all the Eagles fault. Irritating quote from the ESPN article: Yes, he was the one who led them by...err...not playing in the playoffs that year.
  15. Is that a hint? You want to claim someone else Roy?
  16. Leaving Wells in to face the righty when you had Chase Utley on the bench is absurd. I don't know if it is incompetence or arrogance that they didn't think they needed to play the platoon advantage, but either way it was terrible. Yes I am an Utley fanboy, but the point still stands. Disclaimer: disregard the above if he had been inserted into the game, but I did not see that happen (flipping to the tourney) and he is not in the box score so I am assuming he was still available.
  17. I don't think they are planning anyone to be the #1 at this point. It seems apparent that they are going for the Patriots style of receiving corps (a few #2s). I like the signing on the condition that they draft someone to develop this year. Brown/Gaffney/Pinkston with Lewis and draftee competing for the 4th spot is fine. The fact he put up respectable numbers in that abortion of a Houston passing game is encouraging. Not even TO could rack up yardage in their dead set three set drop passing game.
  18. I hope you aren't referring to Sean Taylor here as being better on the line of scrimmage. He is not Royverrated Williams. The man can cover. You must not have seen a lot of footage of him. The guy covers the span of the field amazingly. No, he is much better than Roy Williams. I know he has the athleticism to cover the field, but any time I have seen him play he looks for the big hit and is trying to make the big play. It isn't that he can't cover like Williams, he just seems to play a little too aggresively, at least that I've seen. If he gets reigned in a little he is a monster. Combine that with Archuleta, who can't cover period, and that could be a problem. Disclaimer: the above is assuming that Taylor isn't spending 40 years in jail.
  19. I'd prefer either of those two as well, but if Moulds is getting pissy about the 8 million or so that he is due to earn god only knows what he is going to want on the open market. Walker I'd ask about and see what GB is looking for, but if they want a ransome I would pass. And I really soured on Lewis over this past year to the point where I don't think you can count on him for anything. I think he needs to be replaced in the long term plans.
  20. I wouldn't be against bringing in Keyshawn for a year or two, given that a 2nd or 3rd round pick is spent on a WR (Maurice Stovall). He would be a nice compliment to the deep game of Pinkston and the all around game of Brown.
  21. They released the details on the Darren Howard signing. "In reality, this is either a four-year deal worth $12.6 million or a five-year deal worth $17.1 million. Either way, it averages out to less than $3.5 million per year" I can't believe they got him that cheap. I know he is coming off a down year, but in this market 3 million gets you next to nothing. I think they are going to have to sign a Pickett and/or Arrington/Peterson to big money just for the sake of getting over the salary floor (not that would be horrible to pick them up anyway).
  22. I think the concern with Arrington is fitting into a system, do you risk a big contract to someone who has a real shot of being a screwup. If you are just will to let him freelance, he is a fit. But fewer and fewer teams are doing that. He would probably be a good 3-4 pass rushing LB, but it doesn't look like there are that many 3-4 teams looking for that right now and that is a spot that can be filled easily in the draft (undersized college DEs are perfect for this, so why blow a double digit signing bonus on this position).
  23. Abraham would be a difference maker. Of course, if that happened, they wouldn't have a meaningful draft pick for about three years.
  24. I agree wholeheartedly in that philosophy, but I do not think that describes the players the Skins have signed. When I said middling, it was in the sense that I think that this specific group of players are good players at best not real difference makers, not middling just in the sense of name or price range.
  25. For the sake of cleaning up the list I put Precious Roy into NE, if FS wants them I'll change it but since he hasn't popped in yet I am not going to worry about keeping the name there.
