    Funniest/Best Indy Moments You've Seen

Yeah, I think Rod is a dick outside of the ring as well. After the last Detroit show he was very rude to people about not signing...where as Jack Evans chatted everyone up, took tons of pics, and signed everything. Also at the Detroit double shot, when Jimmy spat his teeth out in the cage match this big black dude next to me shot up and yelled "That mothafucka done lost his teeth!" Loved it. Security is getting worse about kicking people out sooner and sooner, not as much fun as it used to be. Looking forward to the show on the 14th I nearly saw Madman Pondo kill a retarded man after the guy ran up and kicked his opponent during a brawl in the crowd (FUCK DBA!)

    Priest arrested...

http://www.thedenverchannel.com/news/13848179/detail.html Priest Accused Of Jogging Nude Now On Leave Conviction Would Require Rev. Robert Whipkey To Register As Sex Offender FREDERICK, Colo. -- A Catholic priest facing an indecent exposure charge after police said he went jogging in the nude about an hour before sunrise was placed on administrative leave Thursday. The Rev. Robert Whipkey told officers he had been running naked at the Frederick High School track and didn't think anyone would be around at that time of day, a police report said. He told officers he sweats profusely if he wears clothing while jogging. "I'm a heavy man, and wearing clothing while running makes me sweat profusely," Whipkey was quoted as saying in the police report. "I know what I did was wrong," he said in the report. In a statement, the Archdiocese of Denver said Whipkey previously was investigated for "inappropriate personal behavior" more than eight years ago when he was the pastor of St. Anthony's Parish in Sterling, Colo. Details were not released by the archdiocese, but a 7NEWS viewer said six families left St. Anthony's in Sterling after Whipkey allegedly gave nude "sex talks" to 11-year-old boys while on a three-day camping trip. "Father Whipkey's conduct eight years ago did not involve any physical or sexual contact with another individual," the archdiocese said in a statement, adding the behavior was reported to authorities. No charges were filed and Whipkey entered therapy. No other complaints from parishioners had been filed since, the archdiocese said. Robyn Ciaravola, who lives across the street from Whipkey’s home at the St. Theresa rectory in Frederick, told the Longmnt Times-Call that she has often seen Whipkey walking around naked through a window of his home during the three years she’s lived in the house. "All of his drapes are always open, and he’s basically nude in the house," she said. "I have no problem with what someone does in his house, but he should close the drapes." Whipkey did not return phone messages. His attorney, Doug Tisdale, told the Times-Call that Whipkey had no comment. Les Onorato is a parishioner at St. Theresa's Catholic Church where Rev. Whipkey officiates. "And he's a very very nice gentleman. I wouldn't think anything like this of him," said Onorato. Whipkey, 53, was arrested June 22 in this small town about 20 miles north of Denver. An officer said he saw a naked man walking down the street at 4:35 a.m. The U.S. Naval Observatory Web site said sunrise that day in Frederick was 5:31 a.m. The officer said when he shined his flashlight at the man, he covered himself with a piece of clothing he was carrying. Some residents are disturbed by the report. "We have a lot of kids in this neighborhood, so I find it kind of disrespectful," said Frederick resident Sean Smith. "And a man in his position, it surprises me. You can buy a pair of boxers that are pretty thin to help you with that. So, I really don't buy that story," said Smith. According to the report, Whipkey also told officers this was the first time he had gone jogging in public without wearing any clothes. The Archdiocese of Denver said it takes the incident seriously but is awaiting the outcome of the case. Whipkey also officiates at parishes in the nearby towns of Mead and Erie. If convicted of indecent exposure, a misdemeanor, he would have to register as a sex offender, prosecutors said. He could also face up to 18 months in jail. It was not clear why the June incident was not reported by the newspaper until this week. The Archdiocese learned of incident a week after it happened.

    China passes new law

http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/20227400/site/...#storyContinued By Matthew Philips Newsweek Aug. 20-27, 2007 issue - In one of history's more absurd acts of totalitarianism, China has banned Buddhist monks in Tibet from reincarnating without government permission. According to a statement issued by the State Administration for Religious Affairs, the law, which goes into effect next month and strictly stipulates the procedures by which one is to reincarnate, is "an important move to institutionalize management of reincarnation." But beyond the irony lies China's true motive: to cut off the influence of the Dalai Lama, Tibet's exiled spiritual and political leader, and to quell the region's Buddhist religious establishment more than 50 years after China invaded the small Himalayan country. By barring any Buddhist monk living outside China from seeking reincarnation, the law effectively gives Chinese authorities the power to choose the next Dalai Lama, whose soul, by tradition, is reborn as a new human to continue the work of relieving suffering. At 72, the Dalai Lama, who has lived in India since 1959, is beginning to plan his succession, saying that he refuses to be reborn in Tibet so long as it's under Chinese control. Assuming he's able to master the feat of controlling his rebirth, as Dalai Lamas supposedly have for the last 600 years, the situation is shaping up in which there could be two Dalai Lamas: one picked by the Chinese government, the other by Buddhist monks. "It will be a very hot issue," says Paul Harrison, a Buddhism scholar at Stanford. "The Dalai Lama has been the prime symbol of unity and national identity in Tibet, and so it's quite likely the battle for his incarnation will be a lot more important than the others." So where in the world will the next Dalai Lama be born? Harrison and other Buddhism scholars agree that it will likely be from within the 130,000 Tibetan exiles spread throughout India, Europe and North America. With an estimated 8,000 Tibetans living in the United States, could the next Dalai Lama be American-born? "You'll have to ask him," says Harrison. If so, he'll likely be welcomed into a culture that has increasingly embraced reincarnation over the years. According to a 2005 Gallup poll, 20 percent of all U.S. adults believe in reincarnation. Recent surveys by the Barna Group, a Christian research nonprofit, have found that a quarter of U.S. Christians, including 10 percent of all born-again Christians, embrace it as their favored end-of-life view. A non-Tibetan Dalai Lama, experts say, is probably out of the question. --- discuss

    That Was Stupid!

Yeah, I imagine that was just so they could pad his status as a whatever number of times champion. The Dawn Marie/Torrie Wilson feud...where Torrie won every single match they ever had, clean. Dawn did not get one win in the whole thing, which as the heel made zero sense. Also hated the Shane vs Kane feud where Shane seemed to kick Kane's ass every week

  25. http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/news/story?id=2975386 BRIDGEPORT, Conn. -- Former major league All-Star Jose Offerman was charged with two counts of second-degree assault after hitting the pitcher and catcher with his bat during an independent minor league game. Offerman posted $10,000 bond and is due in Bridgeport Superior Court on Aug. 23, court officials said Wednesday. Offerman, playing for the Long Island Ducks in the Atlantic League, homered in the first inning. The next inning, he was hit by a pitch from Bridgeport's Matt Beech and charged the mound with his bat. "I called [Atlantic League executive director] Joe Klein immediately after the incident and told him what had occurred on the field," Bluefish CEO Mary-Jane Foster told the Connecticut Post. "And I have asked that the Atlantic League suspend Jose Offerman from the league for life." On Wednesday, the league suspended Offerman indefinitely. According to the Post, Beech was hit on the hands as he attempted to defend himself, while catcher John Nathans was hit in the back of the head on Offerman's backswing. Police said Beech, a left-hander, sustained a broken right middle finger, and Nathans later suffered from nausea, the newspaper reported. Bridgeport manager Tommy John told ESPN2's "First Take" that Nathans suffered a concussion. Both players were treated at a hospital and released. Jose Offerman AP Photo/Connecticut Post, Christian Abraham Bridgeport Bluefish catcher John Nathans, right, tried to stop Jose Offerman from hitting Bluefish pitcher Matt Beech with a bat on Tuesday night. Beech broke a finger and Nathans was hit in the head in the attack. "[beech] hit him with a cut fastball in the left calf," John said, according to the Post. "And the next thing you know, Offerman's going to the mound with his bat over his head taking swings at Beech. He took at least two, maybe even three [swings]." "It was just a scary incident for everybody witnessing what took place," Bluefish pitcher Mike Porzio said, according to the Post. "Everybody was in shock at the time because it's not something you see. I've played 15 years and I've never seen that before. "Everyone was fearful for Matt Beech because apparently something set Offerman off, because he's played a long time and nobody could believe what they were seeing. Unfortunately, though, he got out to the mound before we could," Porzio said, according to the newspaper. "Luckily for Matt Beech, he was agile enough to dodge a bat. But it may have only been John Nathans taking one on the backswing in the head to have saved Matt Beech from really taking one in the face." Nathans left the game at the end of the inning, the Post reported. "He attempted to keep on going, but he came in the dugout and fell over," Porzio said, according to the Post. "Clearly, it was more than just a bang on the head." The game was delayed for about 20 minutes because of the melee. Offerman, Beech and John were all ejected. The newspaper reported that police converged on the Ducks' clubhouse to arrest Offerman once order was restored on the field. Offerman played for the Bluefish in 2003. Ducks owner Frank Boulton, who also is the league's chief executive, said his team would abide by whatever punishment Klein, the league's executive director, deems appropriate. "I can say that Jose's conduct in bringing the bat to the mound after being hit was wrong, there is no question about that," he said. "We're all saddened by this because Jose has had a 15-year major league career and is a true gentleman." Offerman batted .273 during his 15 seasons in the majors. He last played in the majors in 2005 with Philadelphia and the New York Mets. He was an All-Star in 1995 with the Dodgers and 1999 with Boston. Boulton said it was important to consider that the incident started with Offerman being hit by a pitch. "The pitcher was ejected because the umpire felt he threw at the batter," he said. "We all know that stuff happens." The Associated Press contributed to this report.
